Now 83 but lying under my mother's Grand Steinway at 12 years listening to her play this delicate Chopin. Oh, what a great performance Drew. Thank you for your virtuosity and talent.
I'm 54 and I remember layer under our family's Steinway Baby Grand when I was little listening to my oldest sister playing this. Always has been one of my favorite classical pieces.
Just as there are many textures of snow and varieties of snowflakes, you dear Drew & Chopin make us realize there are many resonances to raindrops. Thank you for your wonderful expertise in making us realize, once again, what a beautiful and definite language guitar music speaks.
Drew, Drew, Drew, I'm speechless. It must get painful sometimes to get inside the head of past genius and be able to feel their emotions so intimately. You have the Midas touch my friend. Impressive!
Rain drop harmonics is masterful, I can't believe you even play it in a thrill in Bar4, clean 6 bar stretch chords are just amazing ....hole piece is played with amazing technique and feel .... you are a true master of the instrument... respect sir ...
Thanks! I really hope you like it. I tried to keep it relatively true to the original, but adding some guitaristic elements such as the harmonics and a couple strums. The arrangement is new and i've improved a couple of things in the score.
@@DrewHendersonGuitar I'm not an expert like you Drew but I love your playing style. I think the masters would all agree that you're one of them!!! Thankyou so much for all your dedication to these beautiful songs. You're very much appreciated!!! 💜👌👏
I just thought I noticed in those closing chords, a hint of Spanish influence. Really! A similar sequence in Albeniz' Caprichio Catalan and other pieces. Wow. I believe Chopin wrote this in Mallorca and was indeed influenced by Spanish themes. Even the rhythmic beat of the 'raindrop' echoes the percussive Spanish style. A beautiful rendition - thank you.
The best classical guitar performances are when they do not necessarily sound like a guitar -- just music -- and if you even think about instruments, your swear there is a small ensemble playing. Love Chopin so much, and this is an amazing tribute. Thank you. And I have to add: the calmness you play this illustrates the dedication you've put in -- I can only imagine.
I never thought this piece would work so well on guitar! Very, very good arrangement! But I think it's damn hard to play! Nevertheless, Drew Henderson has achieved a performance that is second to none! Great!!!
I feel the original key is actually important... why i almost never change the key in my arrangements. Bravo!! Amazing arrangement and performance as always!
I totally agree that the original key of a piece is hugely important, and yes the guitar tuned to Eb sounds absolutely wonderful. I always have an Eb guitar handy for these kinds of pieces. You do an amazing job of going huge on the dynamics without flapping the strings about. Bravo!
I first listened without watching and this piece really works well on guitar. When i watched it I got impressed by the great fluidity and skill of the performance. Great work!
Thank you so much! It was really lucky that it worked out for the whole piece. I wasn’t sure it would work until I arranged the final measures, but I’m so glad it did. It’s very fun to play, and people love hearing it live.
Speechless. Absolutely beautiful arrangement! I was searching to see if anybody has a post with a distorted version. What I have come across so far is not worth watching again. Muy excellente Maestro!
It looks like this was originally written for guitar. That's the greatest goal you can achieve transcribing a work for a different instrument to guitar. Great work!
That was Sublime ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤thank you. I play this prelude on the piano since I can remember, never heard it played with a guitar, congratulations, that was Spectacular 🌷🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹❤️❤️❤️
Love this so much that I immediate got your arrangement. I don't think I can play anytime soon. I like that you notated sorry on one of the long stretch, I almost googled if this is some notation language that I wasn't aware of 😆

Chopin translated in meanigful and moving guitar piece. A masterpiece of music art, taste and bravery. Is BRAVO enough?
My son sent me this...I am mesmerized! I'm a pianist and I've never heard Chopin done on guitar. Absolutely fabulous. New subscriber
