Cardboard, tape, and foam is not going to last at all, though. I don't think everyone needs to go a pricey wood route--but you literally get what you pay for and this piece is fragile as heck.
Glad I came across your channel. Love the way you use pure creativity to create this without all the tools. You really are a "think outside the box" type of person and your personality is no exception!!!
Hahah I’m here for this!!!! Don’t forget to send me pictures!!!!!!! And if you have any question you can always send me a direct on Instagram and I’ll help :)
Hiii!!!! I'm a new subscriber, fan and a fashion attack believer!! I just watched this tutorial from beggining to end and I absolutely loveeeeee your energy and smartness. Now, I have THE TIP of your life for when it comes to using hole-filling paste: I use the heavy duty type. I would request at the hardware store: "give me some paste to fill up cealing holes". This particular paste is way thicker and has more adhering properties than the regular filling paste (it's supposed to defy gravity and stay on the surface without falling to the floor like woud ocurr with the regular paste. It's kind of yellowish in color). And, if you live in a small appartment and don't have a lot of ventilation, neither the proper mask to protect yourself, (I mean, an anti-dust-anti-micro-particles mask), a way of protecting your lungs and your entire space and belongings from the hyper-toxic-cancer-inducing-dust that you make when sanding this paste, you can achieve a suuuuper smooth, soft and incredible finish (no sanding needed) by using a large foam sponge soaked in water, (you could use a brick-shaped foam sponge cutted out from this same material you use to make the furniture ), and you do it just the way construction workers smooth out the cement in wall works. While the paste is still wet, it can be smoothed out and integrated to the rest of the surface with the soaked sponge. And if it dried already, (you need to work way quicker when you do wet-work) you can re-wet it again. The surface will dry almost with a finished satin look and then you can re-apply some more wet paste using this method to smoothe it out even more at the end. You would have to wash and clean the sponge every single time you use it for the smoothing process in order to prevent creating any undesired texture. I just did the entire cealing of my house using this method, to have a silky, shiny, glossy no-cracks-visible cealing view, and I did it while I was still LEAVING inside my apartment. The dust I made while working on that project was almost non-existent and I have a huge collection of shoes and clothes I would've damaged without a doubt if sanding all that paste with a sanding machine or any other regular sanding method. I'm an artist and I work with a lot of industrial materials that generate dust, so since I was in art school I learned the need to protect your lungs at any cost. If you're using a piece of cloth as a mask or you use one like the one you have on, you should put a big ammount of vaseline at the entry of your nostrils so if any dust gets inside the mask, it'll attach to the vaseline stoping you from breathing it all. Still use a good mask, tho, the vaseline helps a little, but won't stop it all. The dust you create with the finishing paste, if inhaled, would harden inside your lungs and a good part of it will never come out of your body not even using breathing therapy. So, yeah, keep the incredible furniture coming in 'cuz we love it!! I really hope this helps you out and others in the future. Have a blessed and incredible dust-free 2022!!!!! Here is a link to the sponges I use for smoothing out the crack-filling-paste. They're ordinary sponges and run super cheap in Amazon: www.amazon.com/Sax-Synthetic-Polyurethane-All-Purpose-Sponge/dp/B0042SRAZO
Marie Claire Maison!!! Tx for this tutorial, I ve seen many of yours, no all of them, but this one I m gonna do...one dzy. I hate square Billy's. Grazie
I want something similar to my old cube bookshelf and cover it in "hole filler" to give it a more modern and earthy fill. How did the filler adhere to the sides of the bookshelf? I see you linked the joint compound, but did you use a primer or special mix to ensure it held to the coated wood?
Please get proper PPE. The dust can cause serious and, in a lot of cases, permanent damage to your lungs or eyes. They sell masks at any hardware store for under $30 and goggles for under $10. Prioritize your well being and be safe everyone 🙏
this is so cool i watched diy Danies version but she uses real power tools and wood this is actually doable for us commoners
yayyyyy so glad i could make something usefull for you guys!!!! if you do try making it send me the picture on instagram!!

that foam ain't going nowhere. That stuff is forever. It'll last just as long as ikea furniture lasts depending on how you treat it.
@@FashionAttack I'm watching your hair ❤ ❤ ❤ but definitely want to have an attack like this video shows us. 😂
That foam and cardboard is a reinforcement, y'all. It's far stronger now.
Glad I came across your channel. Love the way you use pure creativity to create this without all the tools. You really are a "think outside the box" type of person and your personality is no exception!!!

Thanks so so much!!! I’m so excited of how it turned out!
Wild, love the technique.
I’m thinking of so many different pieces to do with similar technique!

This is pretty cool! Very good job! I wonder if I could use microcement or tadelakt on that wood/foam. I have to try it!
Yassssss let me know how it goes I’m curious!!! And send me photos on insta !!!
I love this and gonna try it and tag you when I do!
yasssss can't wait to see it!

I like your version since this is a real DIY hack. Danies version started from scratch and with power tools.
Thanks!!! Yap I loved her book shelf! But this a beginner/intermediate DIY friendly version heheh
bellissimo come sempre
Grazie mamma
Super wow. Wo bleibt das Diy mit der Matche Pampe ? Habe ich das verpasst? Liebe Grüße aus Bavaria/ Germany
Hugs to Germany!!!!!
How many cans of foam did it take to complete this project?
IKEA CEO: hello!
Me: please send help over here
😢 😭 🙏
Hahhahahah
Love it 😃
Thankssssss ❤️❤️❤️
Che protezione hai messo nel mobile? Va bene anche una passata di vinavil? Grazie
T-H-A-N-K Y-O-U! There's no one way to Rome. The more useful ideas for such a beautiful piece the better!
You are so welcome! and you are so right!!! when i wanna learn how to make something.i look at 10 different videos about the same topic hehe
is it Polyurethane foaming agent?
What is the mixture you used for painting?
Love itttt 😍 what did you put after the aerosole paint ? ♥️♥️♥️
it's all in the description box with links and names :) you mean the poudery white part?
@@FashionAttack yes! The filler, it doesn’t look like the one that is linked, more watery.
I added a bit more water to have it super easy to splash all over heheh
Awesome👍🏻
Thankssssss
My sister kept showing Mediterranean inspo pic she wanted for her house and they almost all have this type of shelf
Heheh that’s exactly what they are inspired from!!!
You are adorable and what you make is doable. I watch to see zany you.
🥰 thanks!!! I really try my best to find the easiest way to make complicated pieces!
For the inside, why not just remove the carboard after the foam is set and then sand the foam to get the shape you want.
Why shoudl you remove the cardboard?
It’s gonna inside the foam it’s going to brake the foam as you take it out
1:22 the word you were looking for was "asymmetry" !
Nice job and clever thinking but on the other end it looks like its impossible to clean ☺️
Instead of the cardboard you mean?
@@FashionAttack yes but i realised already that you just have the looks but the shelves stay square so thats no option either 😀
This is gonna go viral also u make me miss Israel I need to return!!
You do have to return! Hehe :)
Is it plaster ? I tried with white cement but doesn’t look quite the same😳
It’s joint compound. What you use to fill up holes in walls 😀
Did you try it???? Show meeeeeee
I need to go buy the joint compound 😂😂
Hehehe you go girl!!!
Heheheh
Fantasticaaaaa
Tu lo sei!!!!!
First time here, seeing your channel. Your energy is amazing! Love this diy!
Yayyyyy I’m so grateful for this message!!!! I’m so happy you like my videos
how much did it cost to make ?
Another great piece! Always love your enthusiasm! Ciao Ciao.
Ciaooooooo 😃❤️
I am thinking entrance table.
Nice!!!
❤️❤️❤️
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Muy original, pero no me gusta por qué los huecos son muy pequeños y no los círculos demasiado deformes
🖤🖤🖤🖤
സൂപ്പർ ആയിട്ടുണ്ട്
👍👍😉
😃😃😃
I loved Danie's but this is more do-able (I don't know if that's a word or not) lol
Yap! Hers is amazing but I thought this would be the best option for most of the not “pro” DIYers :)
