Often I dream of a live show of Lovebites together with Iron Maiden: Lovebites can start with "Judgement Day", and Iron Maiden can continue with "Moonchild" (which is a kicking opener, too). Or the other way round.
But who would want to follow those two bands on stage...? 😂 It must be a real drag after that. 😂

This is a terrific song and was cowritten by Asami, the vocalist, and "6th member" Mao. The other music video from the new album is for the song Stand and Deliver (Shoot'em Down) which was cowritten by Miyako and Asami. Stand and Deliver has a very different sound and is the most fun song on the album. The music video is also very fun and shows the band in studio, which is nice. In this song, if you listen to the bass part through the song, Fami is doing upper melodic and lead stuff on bass at times as well, much more complex than her predecessor's playing. I personally only started caring about LoveBites because I was already a fan of Fami and wanted to see where she'd end up, and this seems like a great band for her.... never before have I seen slapping in symphonic metal LoL, but leave it to Fami to make that work!
She was slapping the shit out of it during the solo. It's awesome they chose a slap bassist for a metal band

I've been waiting patiently for your reaction to "Judgement Day." I wasn't disappointed, and you didn't seem to be disappointed either. You should react to "Stand and Deliver" next. It's off of their new album also, and nothing at all like "Judgement Day.` If you like 80s thrash metal, you'll love it. If you take Motorhead, Iron Maiden, and Megadeath and roll them all together, you'll get Lovebites in "Stand and Deliver." And Fami's nasty bass opening is a thing of beauty. Be well, my friends!

Stand and Deliver (MV available), Dissension and Soldier stands Solitarily. No MVs for the last two but these two are probably the best of the album.
I think you mean Dissonance and not Dissension (the great Nemophila song).

Listen to it again and focus on the bass, some of the stuff she was doing is pretty awesome and during the solo she was going ham on it
Oh, we've listened to it numerous times since we did the episode. It is always so freeing that we can listen to another song now that the "first-time reaction" is out of the way. We heard her through the episode recording as well, we just wanted to see more of her in the video, to get a true impression of her performance. We can't wait to see her live! This band is beyond awesome!

Nice reaction dudes! If you want to see a little more of Fami's already inside Lovebites, the only ways are the new MV "Stand and deliver" or the "Bravehearted" version they released to introduce her for the first time, and any of these is a great choice. If you'd like to discover a different side of the band, you should try "Dancing with the devil", "Empty daydream", "Raise some hell", "Burden of time" or "Epilogue". All these, performed live or live studio version. Even "Stand and deliver" could fit into this "different" catalogue. And congrats on the growth of your channel, always have a good time watching it 🙂

I think your thumbnail facial expressions pretty much covers all anyone needs to know about what this song sounds like. Especially since most of us had that same look the first time too. And a few times after.

Thanks for coming back to Lovebites. Fami was a "high-beta" choice for them--they could have played it safe but they went with someone who is probably going to change their sound while preserving what already makes them special. She clearly nailed it here
Clearly nailed it is an understatement! And yes, what you are saying makes sense. It's like the addition of Fami is, in some way, forcing the band to evolve. It is beautiful to witness. With them already being so good, it is amazing to see that they can still grow and improve. It is a wonder to witness. We are loving it!

That's definitely not symphonic metal. However, the synth layered just above the main riff is a prog element designed to enhance the song at the right places as opposed to being the primary instrument of the track (as in the case of symphonic metal). This is a reason why it's a myth to label Lovebites as just a power metal band as they are a lot more than that. There is a slew of prog elements in the songs from the new album, Judgement Day. Also, try out older tracks like Dystopia Symphony and you will find in them a lot of the prog/classical music influences.
Thank you, Bo Yo! I (Itai) was saying that I thought I was hearing symphonic metal "influences", not that this was symphonic metal. It reminded both of us of some symphonic metal bands (Nightwish was one example from Asaf) in some ways, not necessarily dominant ones. We are not, nor do we pertain to be "metal experts", so we can definitely be wrong. Lol. The prog elements you are referring to definitely sound good on Lovebites and we hope to hear more from them in this direction. Dystopia Symphony is on our request list, so we hope to get to it sooner rather than later. Stay tuned!

This band never disappoints me. All their songs are great. I love them all. Even my previous favorite bands didn't have so many perfect songs.
"Judgement day" is so cool way to start a new era in their music. I can say only praise for this song.

Awesome!! The "evil" in the video are the bad times the band and the fans went through with covid and Miho leaving the band.
Coming from a long hiatus, losing the band's founder, a new member joins, the release of the new album was a true Judgement Day on many levels for the band.
The new album is absolutely amazing, so i would say they have passed the trials and are back stronger than ever!! 🤘🐺🤘

Not surprised at all. She looks extremely ripped. I (Itai) commented on this a little in the past, but it is more and more apparent as she probably gets closer to competitions, etc. Amazing.

Each females Japanese band has their own sound and style. What separates them from Lovebites is the talents. Most criticisms from Lovebites is the vocal and some are not use to her heavy accent. Her range is just as good as any female vocalists. Again, English is not her first language.
I personally love her voice and can appreciate her trying to sing in english. Funny when there's subtitles her voice sounds better because you can hear and see what she's trying to sing. They are by far my favorite "new" band. I get why people will say I like everything but the singing and I just say you have to give it time, she amazing.
Yes, her accent is heavy and it is tough to understand what she's singing, but as we've said before, we don't care 🙂 Her voice sounds great to us and the music is just amazing. All the girls are so talented and proficient at their respective instruments and the song are just fantastic. We can be picky about accent, but what would be the point? English is not her first language and we hope that her annunciation will improve over time, but if not... so what? 😉 We love LOVEBITES!!

Band-Maid: Hard Rock
Babymetal: Kawaii "Cute" Metal
Hanabie: Punk/Idolcore?
It seems that Lovebites and Band-Maid (we need to get to know Baby Metal and Hanabie more before commenting on this) are fluently moving between "subgenres". LB dabble in all kinds and are always on point. Band-Maid stay within the hard rock realm, but they play around with hooks and choruses to perfection and sometimes we struggle to pinpoint the exact subgenre... not that it matters, as they are all AWESOME! We are having a blast covering these bands. The gift that keeps on giving!
