I got a Dumbo band for my upcoming trip! Even though it doesn't really do much, I'm very excited to use it. My parents never let me get the light up stuff at shows as a kid, but now I'm an adult! Didn't know about the double tap light up thing. That's really neat!
Thanks! this video definitely helped me decide. I am new so I will do the plus, however, i do hope they add more features as you stated to offset the charging part etc.
Is it OK to buy one magic band+ for our daughter and the rest of us use cards etc or will that be problematic do you think? I think she would love the interactivity etc bit I don't think our whole family needs them.@WhodatTravel
Thanks, we got ours at Disneyland this past weekend. We asked 8 or 9 different Cast Members for help. No one knew anything. They were given zero training.
When you buy one please share what color options are on it for the lights! face-red-heart-shape I wish people did this more, I don't want to buy a new one if I don't know what special options there are.
why is it so difficult to find a video that explains what the plus does and how to work it? Like i want to know how the lights work and all the hidden features and gestures, but everyone talks about the basic REGULAR magic band uses.
I have a brand new, updated iPhone 15 and have the world’s hardest time connecting my family’s bands. It’s sort of ridiculous- it’s friggin Disney, it should be an easy experience!
Thank you I just found another very helpful video!! Thanks for your video too. My wife and I have traveled a lot as retired employees of United Airlines and nothing has been as daunting as the logistical plans for Disney. We are trying to keep it simple and your video helped
Thank you! Planning my trip and I think we will pass on the magic band+ this time. I dont think its something I want and I feel my 4 year old will still be small enough not to really care about the statues and the vibrations.
Not a problem. Glad to help. My little man does love us waving at the statues. Having one of pluses in your group would allow to do those kind of things but over all I agree that other features need to come out to really make it worth it for everyone
It automatically syncs as long as you are near the fireworks. I had better luck at Epcot than Magic Kingdom with how much it went off with the fireworks
Hi Nick, nice video. Last week I found a magic band + by the beach and I was wondering if I can use it in my Disney Experience?, is there a way to reset it? Thanks!
So this comes right from Disney. "Once a MagicBand+, MagicBand or card is linked to your Disney account, it cannot be transferred to another person for use at the Walt Disney Resort".
We just got the plus because they told us that the regular ones only lasted 1yr. Are old ones that we still have and used 1week ago worked. They're 4yrs old. Hum...so I'm confused
Hi! If I buy a NEW +band, can i take out the middle part and put on a retired regular band? I really want the Muppets so bad.. but i doubt they have the new one with The Muppets on it! Thanks!
Do you know whether you can get lock bands, that secure the band to your wrist, within the various park shops? As I understand they can become undone and you may lose your band, is this correct?
We really don't have a problem with them coming undone. Even with our little man. However you can not get the little lock bands in the park, we bought ours through Amazon
My little man loves his. He feels part of it all being able to see the band light up at fireworks and having it to tap into the parks. Is it necessary, no. Is it fun to see him excited and enjoy it yes. So for that I say it is worth it, but if it is a stretch financially I would say it is not worth it. I would buy the little rubber band keeper though.
I just ordered my 50 yr. Cinderella's Castle Magicband for my up coming WDW trip. I can't wait to go in October!
Getting a magic band + for me and my dad for this upcoming trip, I'm going to get a lamp to use it on from esty after
Thank you for this video. Super helpful on how to set up my Magic Band + in my app.

Glad to help. I really hope there will be more things. It's fun, but more interaction would make it even better
I appreciate these kinds of videos. Very helpful.
Thank you. I love helping people out.

You can definitely just have one person with a Magic band. It won't be an issue at all.
@@WhodatTravel Thank you so much 🎉
I watching this before doing anything.... Thank goodness 😅 appreciate your video very much!
I'm glad it could help.
Great video. I’m sure they fixed the bugs since it’s April 2024 and they synced instantly with no issues. 👍🏼
Thanks, we got ours at Disneyland this past weekend. We asked 8 or 9 different Cast Members for help. No one knew anything. They were given zero training.
That's sad to hear that they didn't receive training. It really seemed like a few of the people at Disney world really did and we're quite helpful.
How did you ultimately figure it out? I’m worried we won’t be able to get ours set up
This is great info. Thank you!
Thank you. Glad to help.

i got mine last night from ebay and it says tap failed unable to read identifier from media
Remember that if the vibration bothers you, you can turn that off on the app.
Yes, I was just letting people know that you don't always know right away why it is buzzing

I wish I could use it as a watch
as well
Same here!!
What is the best way to fit the band for younger kids? Are you supposed to cut off the extra “band” section (there is an arrow)of the band.
Yes if they have small wrists you will want to take off the extra. To keep them on they also have band keepers on Amazon to help them to not fall off

And waving 👋🏽 at the statues does what exactly?? No video of what the band does during the fireworks show either??
How do you sync it for the night time firework shows? Or does it automatically sync when the show is engaged?
It automatically syncs as long as you are near the fireworks. I had better luck at Epcot than Magic Kingdom with how much it went off with the fireworks
What does it do with the fireworks? We are due to go in February so trying to get to grips with some things first.
It lights up and matches colors. I find that it works more at Epcot than it does at Magic Kingdom

Glad you enjoyed it!
That was absolutely ridiculous how long it took you to get to the point.
My magic band recently broke so I decided to get a plus without even know about most of its features I just got it for the design
You made me dig out my old magic band & reinstall the Disney APP.
I hope that's a good thing 😉
Thank you , very helpful
Glad to help
If you go on a cruise you will need it fi that helps + is required

They're 4yrs old.
Hum...so I'm confused
I have one that is around four years old as well. I don't think that they have changed that.
Are the magic bands cheaper at the parks?
Nope, they are the same price on line as in the park.
I paired and did the update on an Android with no problems.
That's wonderful. I have heard that they made a few adjustments.
Hi! If I buy a NEW +band, can i take out the middle part and put on a retired regular band? I really want the Muppets so bad.. but i doubt they have the new one with The Muppets on it! Thanks!
I am pretty sure that they are different sizes. I have never heard of anyone doing it.
Do you know whether you can get lock bands, that secure the band to your wrist, within the various park shops? As I understand they can become undone and you may lose your band, is this correct?

@@WhodatTravel Thank you 🌞
I wanted to add that they offer a Magic Key Holder exclusive at DLR, as well as a limited edition Coco band.
I know that there are a lot of other designs that are offered now.
I did order mine pre-arrival and got mine for $24.96.
Can it be engraved ike its predecessor
I don't believe so. I have not seen it done at least
Why’s the music so creepy? It gives a weird vibe to the whole video.
Is it worth buying magic bands for children??
My little man loves his. He feels part of it all being able to see the band light up at fireworks and having it to tap into the parks. Is it necessary, no. Is it fun to see him excited and enjoy it yes. So for that I say it is worth it, but if it is a stretch financially I would say it is not worth it. I would buy the little rubber band keeper though.
I got one!
Great. They are kinda fun.
Rechargeable battery? I thought they died after 3 years.
I agree. I got these for my kids. But I do not think it is worth it. I will use my phone for free.
It seems they made these way way too complicated. Dreading doing this.
Having an Android phone was your first mistake. 😁 Thanks for making this video, suuuuper helpful!
Lol. Normally I love my Android. Thanks for watching and supporting
I’ve heard they last 1-3 days, or as little as 2 hours. I wonder what the truth is? 2 hours renders them totally useless. Jeez Disney
Mine normally last around 2 days. Overall I end up charging them at night.
Yup. Disney hates android.
Yet another scam to get more money out of uou
