Inspirations have sung a long, long time in various lineups but this is apex Inspirations right here. Not only the best 4 guys but this is somewhere around mid 1970s when they recorded 2 live albums on successive nights in Warner Robbins, GA in 1976 "A NIght of Inspiration" and "12th Anniversary Live" Jesus is Mine was the penultimate song in the first concert and these guys were young and at their peak. You've got the best lineup all in the best singing shape of their lives right here. They were never as good as this again.
Great song, and a great group! You folks who got to see them perform in person are so lucky. I love southern gospel music and bought all the records I could find, but living here in San Diego it was very, very rare to ever get to see any of these groups in concert. In fact it was pretty rare that I ever met anyone who knew this kind of music existed.

I love this song and this wonderful group! Has been my favorite gospel group of all time! When I was a kid I would always put in the 8 track and sing every song! Now today, I have got my daughter that is 12 ....listening and learning the songs
Don lackey. I enjoy gospel music any day or night of the week . I need some soul lefting music like good gospel singing because it really makes me feel really great. Thanks for sending it my way.
This group is originally from Bryson city North Carolina. That is south east of Asheville and north east of Franklin. My grandmother was born in Bryson city North Carolina and my family is from Franklin North Carolina. Been listening to this group all my life and I’m 47 years old
I remember First big song Jesus is Coming Soon! Anyone remember that in 1968 or 69 .. Ronnie Hutchins sang lead and had another baritone singer too ... they were all so young and still are just as True! 🕊🙏🏻
we went to see them all the time i used wait till they were done singing and ask little troy if i could play his guitar and hed drag me up on the stage and let me play... circa early 80s @ singin in the smokies inspiration park, near our home n.c. loved music ever since

An avowed atheist but brought up Southern Baptist. Archie, Martin, Troy, Eddie, Mike (Ol' 6'4" 94). I still love these guys, even if I don't like what they stand for.
Former believer here too. Finally admitted, Christianity is a great idea, just happens not to be true. But, listened to these guys since I was 12. Unique sound. Still like the music.
I seen them when I was a small child. It was in Shelby county Alabama. My dad took me to see them I started singing with them people in the audience started looking at me and my dad left with me
LOL Just keeps getting faster and faster. Eddie has a spooked look on his face cuz the tempo is so fast. By the end, they weren't singing, just speaking in tongues!!! RFLOL That's southern gospel for ya!
It sounds like it's getting faster because it is. Not sure why gospel singers think 'the faster the better.' Listen to their studio recordings, then their live performances and they're always much faster. But in this case, poor Martin started it too fast, then kept gaining and gaining........whew!!!!
@@illinoisgospelfan650 the tempo stays the same I’m pretty sure, it just changes key which makes it seem as it’s getting faster. But, nevertheless, great music
Dawn I can remember the beat of this song...I was apx 4 or 5 years old. They were singing too fast to me to understand all they were singing...but my daddy could sing with them.❤ *my daddy would change the channel if he was frustrated and used curse words lol. Now I understand why he did that! LOL🤔😁❤
They recorded it in 1975 on the album I'm Taking a Flight and later recorded it live in 1976 on A Night of Inspiration. It went to number one on the charts in 1976.
I remember this from when I was a little boy. I'm 56 years old now and ready to go to my heavenly home!
Excellent! That’s how Southern Gospel quartets should sing!!
The eternal ancient of days! Praise God!

It sounds like it's getting faster, but all It's doing is changing key. It's called a half step modulation
