- While on a road trip to pick up the new @406garage3 tow truck, we stumbled across a guy who is @ViceGripGarage Roadkill, and @JunkyardDigs all wrapped into one! A large portion of his collection had been lost to blackberry bushes for years, but the blackberries are currently being removed and the lost collection is being rediscovered! Ben and I got a full tour of what's accessible, and I'm thinking we need to go back in once it's cleared out to see the rest!
Be sure to check out our Patreon project where we use whatever it brings in in a month as our budget to help someone the following month! I was never a fan of the Patreon idea until I realized that I can use it to help others instead of myself, so I created the Patreon Project where we can all combine our efforts to make a real difference in people's lives and make the world a better place! For as little as a dollar a month you can join the group of awesome people already on board and be vote to help steer the ship along the way!

Who thinks Ben and I need to go back out there, dig a lost car out of the bushes, see if we can get it running, and then try to drive it home??
Yes - PLEASE!
Invite @FabRats
Yes the tow truck
That would be great to see
Absolutely
I have never seen a collection like this in almost 60 years. I cant get my head around it. Why would you just let these classics waste like this? Speechless!
Yeah, it's disgusting to see them sit and rot, when some else who has the time and $ could be enjoying them.
NOT FOR SALE!!!
It is a disease, with only two cures; someone shows up with a dumptruck full of cash/gold, or the collector dies and the family sells it off for scrap.
Probably going to fix them up "some day".
More money than brains
It's sad to see all those cars just rotting away in a field 😢
If he were to suddenly pass away, they would probably all go to auction.
When he passes away some will be sold the rest scraped what a shame
Well, he's going to fix them up one day. He knows what he's what he's got, nothing for sale.
I've seen auctions in the midwest that are nothing but rust buckets. I had a neighbor years ago who bought an old shoebox ford sight unseen from a midwest auction, had it shipped to AZ. When he got it it was so bad it wasn't even a parts car.
So sad to see them rotting away like that.
This is cool to see, but also incredibly sad. All that potential sitting there, but no one will ever do anything with any of them. Everything is so buried under blackberry canes, and completely inaccessible for anyone to attempt to get anything out. They'll sit and rust until this owner dies, and the family will probably be so overwhelmed by the quantity that they'll have a scrapper come in and buy it all for pennies to be crushed and melted down.
My thoughts exactly. You stated it well.
I've had more than one hoarder in my family and dealt with their estates. It's a nightmare.
As cool as some of that guys stuff was, in my opinion the best part of the video was the barn owl flight footage. Such majestic and fascinating creatures. There’s a great horned owl that I scare up every so often in the back forty and to see such a large bird take flight and flap it’s wings without making any sound is surreal.
Same
We were fishing one morning at 6:45AM as the first light cracked over the sky. We saw a huge bird heading right at us over the water. It was a Great Horned Owl and flew just 5 feet above our heads as it hit land. Not a sound but we could feel the air push down as it flapped its wings. Surreal is truly the word that came to mind.
Agree
Facts! So cool
If the pullys are ok, could the tension be backing off slightly enough that you don't notice?
I just CANNOT understand the mentality of someone that would collect classic auto/trucks and just let them rot. Absolutely disgusting. What a waste...
I did not know about the plastic bag - i'm very ignorant about all that but i feel impressed of how you can do everything so well, basically as if nothing was 'different' from any other comparable hard working dude. Great!
What an incredible collection of restoration projects. He's sitting on a gold mine. Thanks for having us along guys.
Yeah but they are all in worse condition than when he bought them so selling them is a loosing proposition.
@@jeep2003not all of the cars are restorable. Some are restorable, some are donor/parts cars. There are enough cars & donor parts cars sitting there, a true car enthusiast could go in & build some classics t gf at would be worth big bucks, that's the point he was making that you totally missed.
Granted some cars are in such bad shape it's not worth doing anything with, but they might have some little part that could be used on another car to make it date/period correct, that could make one car very valuable. That's how car enthusiasts look at it, & that's what he meant by "sitting on a gold mine".
Restoring any rusty vehicle is a nightmare. Very few are worth the trouble.
@@lordapsu it you’d have to put 200k into some of them
I've seen what I thought were collections before - this gives a whole new level to it. Just the various body panels sitting around were enough to keep someone busy for a while, let alone all the cars and trucks buried and hidden. Thanks for taking us along, Casey (and Ben).
Just nuts how random that collection is. Hope they can be dug out and cleaned up, as that would certainly make them last longer for when they are eventually rescued.
I miss my `68 GTO that I bought when it was two years old. I totaled it :( I miss my `66 GTO much more. That one I painted metal flake blue, added headers, did a nice engine rebuild, etc. I drove it over much of the country when I was in the military and after. Thank you for this video about old cars (and some kind of tow truck)! Such memories!
I had a bag for over a year,i had colon cancer and thank god they removed all the cancer but they had to put a bag on me til i healed. Its not a fun thing to have to deal with ,dude you havnt let it slow you down ill be a loyal follower from now on
Awww, the Wheel Cafe in Chemult!! My, my, I've had many a fine meal there....even bought some great art there!! I miss that place!
Wow, just wow! I’m glad he’s digging them out of the blackberries. I hope he moves them along to people that will put them back on the road.✌️
WOW! Now that is a diverse collection. I don't get the part of buy it and then abandon it but that's okay. There is some good stuff there especially out in the Black Berry patches!
WOW!!!!!! That's what I kept saying!
I have a PT Cruiser with a 6 ft wide snow blade on it that I use to clear my yard. That's a pretty wild collection of cars for sure.
Adventures of Casey & Ben always enjoyable!
I would love to see you go back when things get cleaned up and be able to actually see the cars and trucks in the collection. Pretty insane that he has that many vehicles and they are buried under all the vegetation. Thanks guys for the video.
I hope your video inspires people to give restoration a try. I'm a sucker for preservation of automotive history. I learned to drive in the 1950s in a 1913 Maxwell that my Uncle George had restored. He had a little oval on his farm where my cousins and I all learned to drive in that car. Talk about stick shift! No syncho on any of the gears so double clutching was part of the educational curriculum. My uncle loved seeing his Maxwell getting used and loved. Made a life long impression on all of us.
I had to look up a Maxwell!
Is it just me who wants to go round organising the cars into respective areas just to see how many of each model he actually has eg all the bugs together all the minis together and not forgetting the Trans-am's
It looks like you didn't get to see it all. This video needs a part two... and maybe three. There are just so many cars there that need to be rescued and restored; or at least put back in running condition and on the road. Great video! Thanks!
Definitely a place to check when the blackberries are cleared.
Nice of Ben to make excuse for the excursion.
When the black berries are cleared? Good luck.
The south has kudzu. The PNW has blackberries.
Wow! Don't I wish I had a satchel full of cash, & Bens 5 place car trailer, AND live less than a couple thousand miles away... What a wonderful place to dream & drool. Thanx !
That "light" on the dash of the '53 or'54 Pontiac is an automatic headlight dimmer. When oncoming headlights hit the photocell, it would automatically dim your headlights and then go back to high beam after the car passed you.
My 1952 Oldsmobile also had that feature 😊 worked very well.
Good eye, not many people would have known the answer to that one. I have one of those units I have been going to sell on ebay and let someone else put it to good use again.
@@brucegambill6303 I have one in my storage unit. Mine quit working after 10 years. I replaced it and keep the original one.
That is the biggest amount of all kinds of vehicle I think I have ever seen! Thanks Casey and Ben for taking us along with you!
This is the most cool collaboration that you and Ben have done so far. Thank you very much
What a tour of that man's property. I have never seen so many vehicles in one place and even covered up with vines. That is amazing! I always love you and Ben together! Thank you for sharing! 😊
So sad to see such a collection wasting away in a field.
That sign is sick !!
This would be a perfect place for a "reliving your childhood tour" that could go back generations.
YES for more Bend and Casey shenanigans. That is a super rad sign!! SOOOOOOO many cars, that was a complete car treasure spot. Owls are sooooo super awesome!!
Both of you definitely need to go back there and show us more awesome vehicles
Hey Casey, If that '53 Pontiac had a hydramatic* transmission that thing on the dash near the driver's side a pillar is something that would mean the operator would never need to use his left foot even when driving at night. The Autronic Eye was generally found on high end Cadillacs back in the day but was also offered on some Pontiacs, Oldsmobiles and Buicks. It had a photosensor that detected lights ahead of the vehicle and automatically switched the headlights from high beam to low beam and vice versa. Back then the control to perform that task was a pedal on the far left floorboard rather than a stalk on the steering column.
*Bonus - in 1953 the factory that manufactured the hydramatic transmissions had a major fire and was shut down for several months making hydramatics hard to get for a while so some Pontiacs had a different automatic transmission.
I would imagine Jay Leno would salivate upon seeing that car.
Good morning Casey this video is definitely in my top two of favorite videos that you have done without a doubt.
My favorite video was the Model T off road cars you had to pull out of the mud.
I don't understand why Ben passed up on that Travel all in my opinion that would be a perfect addition to his collection
That guy with the cars is fantastic. I saw a few in the collection that I would like to have and restore but I don't have the place to work on anything. It was fun watching you guys go through the property and show us the things he has. Most likely you and us watching don' know close to a third or maybe of what it berried under the vines and thickets and back behind where you weren't able to get to.He does have some nice stuff. A couple of the old panel trucks I saw I would love to see working and back on the road again.
I love seeing the old trucks, yes go back and uncover more gold in old cars
You are right. I watched the whole thing! Drooling.....
I had a Jeep that would do the same thing to the Serpentine Belt. It too would chew off one side of the belt , I think that one of the pulleys was out of alignment and caused the problem. I did the same as you , it never bothered after it had settled into where it wanted to be.
It might just be the camera angle but the alternator pulley doesn't look dead upright.
I thought the same thing.@@imagseer
My daughter has a PT CRUISER.... and when I fell at work and injured my back and was wheel chair bound for 6 months, it was the only car any of my extended family owned that I could get in and out of with the least amount of pain. They are definitely a clique car. Enjoy your Internationals Ben.
One of the best car hoarder videos I’ve had the pleasure of watching. Loved this video thank you for taking the time to share it with us
Wow. This place is amazing. This guy literally has one or more of just about everything.
Holy shit!!!!! That was an epic walk through guys. So many badass classics. The low light quality on your video was absolutely stunning. I could spend 5 days in that yard and still find something to excite me. My favourite was all the 77 trans ams and all of the 240/260 Z cars.
Holy shit...........Dude! You and Ben HAVE to go back (Please....) in a year after the blackberry bushes have been cleared! We HAVE to see the rest of that collection! Jesus, there were so many amazing cars and trucks, I dont even know where to start with what I liked most...How could you with everything he has there!
Its amazing how much money is just sitting there and for him to remember just about every car was incredible. Some of these older fellas that have been collection for 30-40-50 years, they can accumulate quite a treasure chest, and no one can ever truly appreciate what they have, except for them. It's sad , in a way.
Absolutely fantastic video and I watched all 42 minutes of it.
That was one really cool video. What is a shame, is those cars deserve to be out there wheeling on the roads, not gathering dust. Nothing so rare that it is worth much money, but someone would take just one, and spend hundreds, if not thousands of hours restoring it, and bringing it back to life. One at a time. But, I would guess they are 'not for sale'. Which is how collections like this exist, until the owner passes on, and then a huge yard sale.
Usually with a collection like that when the owner passes on, the heirs find different car enthusiasts & invite them in to look the collection over & then make an offer on the entire collection, or just part of it.
Those immortal words of people like this....."I'm gonna fix it up....One of these days."👎👎👎
Its common for those older style tensioners to wear out at the pivot on the accessory side which causes the belt to ride more forward on the pulley. This feeds it to alternator off center. Detroit switched to a cummins style tensioner thats a direct bolt on with different size bolts that it should come with. Hope this helps
project car heaven! Hopefully most of those will be rescued before they're too far gone
Holy SMOKES!! This collection is just about unbelievable!! Derek Bieri would be in His Glory, I'm sure if He saw this.
24:29 A Datsun 1600 Roadster. I had a 1969 2000 Roadster as a 19 year old (fun car! 150 hp with the optional dual Solex carbs and B model cam, in a ~2000 lb car) The one shown would be pre-early 1968 as the windshield was taller after that. Sad to see it wasting away on a field 😑
I always watch 406 garage videos featuring Ben...THE INTERNATIONAL TRUCK GURU...!!!!
What a collection. We have an HHR with 230k miles. When my husband bought it I didn’t think it would last a year. We also have a 2000 Excursion that still is used to haul trailers with 250,000 miles. A great truck. V-10 and seats eight. It was perfect when our kids were young.
I've got to see the doctor now, because i haven't closed my mouth for a solid 30 minutes... This is insane! And i love it!
There is way too many to sit and rot some, very different, and spectacular car's there, be great to see them restored, thanks for sharing, all the best to yous and your loved ones
This could keep Robby Layton busy for a very LOOONG time.
Imagine how long it would keep Sarah-n-Tuned occupied.
I know where this yard is and have always wanted to go though it, Thank you for the tour!!! I would like to look at a couple of those cars up close.
Nice tour of an amazing collection Casey. Out of all of it the Ford Ranger brought a smile to my face. My lifted boondocking 2007 got hit from behind on the highway last week while stopped by a Dodge Ram doing probaby 50 mph, steel bumpers and a real frame saved my life. Waiting for the repair or write off value. I'd like to try to rebuild it.
Serious barnfind material! 100s of cars maybe even a thousand. There are some real rare vehicles scattered amongst all of the plant growth and hidden in those sheds. WOW!
Outstanding video Casey! Thanks for sharing this amazing place. Can you imagine if Paul Cox @fabrats found this place? I think Robby Layton would probably go nuts too…
NOT FOR SALE!!!
man that would be a dream place to explore and find the perfect car... and then fully restore it... one can only dream :D
LOVE the new sign, Ben! Happy you replaced the one that "got away"! (: Mrs G
Thanks!
I am 80 years old, and there are cars and trucks there, that I have never seen before....
What a cornucopia of vehicles.
wow, wow, just about the BEST tour of a barn/field find i've seen on the tube, can't believe how many car were NOT mentioned...vega panel wagon, volve bertone...etc ...etc... great video😁😁😁
Insane. Car museum in the rough.
OMG, Incredible! Had to stop at 40:11 to say "I haven't seen a Mustang!" - well trying to be patient, I'll watch the last 3 minutes. Great video guys!, thank you
Instead of saving them most have been condemned to death. You should have looked underneath them for I think there might not have been a floor in any of them.
So sad to see all these just rotting away. Would love so many of these cars/trucks/etc
As for the belt walking I saw it before after an alternator change, the pulley that came with the alternator was set back a fraction of an inch over oem.
Or the centre lines of the two pulleys are not parallel. Those are the only two possibilities.
This hurts my soul. I wonder how much can get back onto the road tbh
Best video you have ever made. Great work!
I liked how, at the end, you mentioned that the video was going to be about Ben's new tow truck. I had forgotten all about it!
That dirt is healthy holy crap those bushes are happy
I've dreamed of having a older Jeep and that guy just has 1 setting in his barn doing nothing
There's so many sweet rigs! If only we had a way to contact the guy!
@@Tyler-es i hurt my lower back bad enough i had to be put on disability so money is very tight now that's why i can't afford to buy a jeep anymore
Fantastic video, be great to see a group of youtubers doing some restoration and collection of some before they go to far,
What a collection. It was fun trying to identify some of those vehicles before they said what they were. Lots of parts for restoration projects.
This was awesome ,i hope you guys go back
Note about ribbed belts Casey, on the race cars I've run for ages that use ribbed belts its common to replace them with a belt one rib narrower. Two reasons, one one less rib equals less mechanical drag which means better throttle response and more power (miniscule I know) and it gives the belt room to move from shock loading, in our case from a missed shift, over rev on downshift, things like that. The speed of various pumps, compressors, alternator can't always keep up with the speed change of the engine and the belt has to absorb this. In cases like the Neon I raced in 1995 the stupid thing would spit the power steering belt off every time you downshifted with any haste. That would peel the alternator belt off and it made the car really fun to drive....the fix was numerous things but one was going from the original 6 rib belt to a 4 rib belt as it'd jump a groove and get caught and stay on instead of being flung off. Just an idea for you to think about.
Some of us will know what the old cars are hate seeing them rotting away get the old tow truck and make an offroad wrecker
I think, Casey, that Ben and you should recruit some of the "Al Bladez/SB Mowing and others" guys to get all those bushes slashed out of the way for further prospecting the place and start rescuing vehicles! Leave the Minis there but take the beautiful old stuff and the wreckers, of course! Good luck!! T🐻 from NL.
This man single handedly saved America from the mini cooper😂😂😂
Wow. I'm not a car guy and my tongue was hanging out seeing all those vehicles. I appreciate the older stuff. Great video.
Very cool tow truck, Ben!
Casey! Awesome video. I just can't come up with the words right now. I'll probably have to watch it again, my eye caught the ranchero, however, gonna send the link to Jack over at Speed Bump Garage. He's like the greatest kid ever, doesn't have his driver license yet but he's resurrecting a ranchero. He's the greatest kid on TH-cam (in my opinion).
I've really really been enjoying the shorts. I watch them at work waiting for computer stuff to finish but usually don't have time to comment there. Brings your channel more revenue, makes my day "more awesomer" it's a win win in my book. Thanks for doing them, you fo them so well.
Take care man, protect those plastic bits!
My dad had a lot of cool old cars, until the town of Annabelle Utah made him get rid of them. They were literally drivetrains removed and crushed. I think that the town should have to reimburse his losses at this point. He had a lot of Cadillac's and Mopars. A couple of Buicks and Chevelle's. They were all running till my mom left my dad. And people stole the carburetors off of them. He had what would now sale for over a million dollars. And they all are gone because of a Town council. Totally bullshit....
I've got a 1972 F250 highboy. I've been slowly rebuilding it. Love all the old cars and trucks.
The Ben and Casey show !!!!
Silly Casey, the bucket under the dash of the Travel all at 12:02 is obviously the mobile toilet 😂
This is pathology. Not so much collecting all those vehicles, but letting them all sit out there and be reclaimed by the blackberry forest. Think of all the many hundreds of car guys who would love to get that classic car or truck of their dreams, and restore it lovingly. But this guy is hogging them all!
It reminds me of trying to adopt a dog from the shelter, only to find all the goddamned "rescue groups" have taken all the good ones and all they have is pit bulls and chihuahuas.
Waiting for the end of the video when you go out to your tow truck and blackberries are halfway up your truck like a scene from the 90s Jumanji😂
Hey Casey.... you and Ben DO have a good time when you're out and about!!!
Pretty incredible collection ... would love to see what all is buried in the blackberries!!!
Great Barn owl shots!! Your new camera is pretty sweet!!
Safe travels, friends❤❤

The Volvo 262C, aka the Bertone coupe.
that was unbelievable, thanks for taking us along...perhaps a Casey and Ben roadtrip with one of these vehicles in the future?
We keep our rigs forever. Our son drives a 1987 Toyota 4 RNR that his aunt brought new, then was his dad’s daily driver for 15 years or more. My husband’s Toyota FJ is a 2007, bought new. We had a 2004 Toyota Sienna bought new, that we gave to our son a couple of years ago to sell. He and his wife decided to keep it. She loves its.
Thanks for nostalgic trip of black berry car farm
That was fun and heart braking. Because I can't have some
Casey..my dodge cummins belt was doing same thing to belt..and changed out belt tensioner..been good since..4 yrs ago..had just enough side flex..even with bearing being replaced..so replaced the spring loaded tensioner itself
THIS IS JUST UNREAL!!!!
Field mouse: dang, we can't build any nests in these cars...they have the blackberry protection barriers installed 😉
“Why is there a trans am T-top car outside, and this hunk of shit is sitting in here?!” most passionate question 😂😂😂😂
