@@marcc.5535 I agree with you on the first part about KG's leadership. Your second paragraph you are wrong and you do not know how the Celtics got KG. The Celtics were after KG in 05-06 (two years before joining Boston). KG didn't want to go to Boston. Pierce had a foot injury the year before KG joined. As Pierce was out due to injury, Danny Ainge told Pierce that he was going to be traded or he was going to get a second star to help out. KG was on the trade market since KG opted out, Minn didn't want to lose KG in free agency and they were basically replacing KG w/ Al Jefferson. KG vetoed a trade to Boston again because he did not want to go to Boston. KG was looking at LA or Phoenix. But KG stopped interest in the Lakers because Kobe was demanding a trade. KG looked at the Mavs and Warriors, but they didn't have enough to make the trade work. Pierce DID NOT recruit KG because he felt KG was going to stiff him the same way Baron Davis and Allen Iverson did. Ray Allen had a bad injury so Seattle was looking to trade him. Boston got Ray Allen, which attracted KG. And that's how the Big 3 was formed. KG wasn't looking to form a superteam. It just happened because they were aging stars coming off injury and all three players were on the verge of being kicked off their teams for younger talent.
@@MikeBNumba6 Garnett did not want to sign an extension with Minnesota and threaten to opt out because he "could not win" He missed the playoffs 3 straight seasons and he was frustrated with losing. Therefore, he was looking to form a "superteam" As you indicated, he wanted to join Kobe. Now, what alpha male superstar want to run to another star team to help them win? Lebron and Kevin Durant catches heat from doing that all the time when the fact of the matter is, KG did the same. Kevin Garnett even reached out to the Phoenix Suns looking for a trade when they had Nash and Amarie Staoudamire. Garnett "said that himself" in an interview. You can look it up, its out there. Bottom line is KG didn't win in the west due to studs like Tim, Kobe, and the Suns. So, he wanted to join another star to give him a better chance to win. But, KG has a problem when someone else does the same. He talked about Lebron when he went to Miami. You can look that up to, its out there. Ray Allen did what was best for him when he left Boston for Miami just like KG did what he thought was best for him left Minnesota for Boston.
Gotta remember too this was when teams didn't like each other. Pierce and Garnett weren't going out to dinner with lebron and dwade after the playoff games. But I can also understand rays side of looking at the Celtics with aging players vs heat with a core in their prime. Plus rays shot to save that game for Miami will forever be in fans minds (or atleast should be) . Just another "what if" in sports, what if pierce, Garnett and Allen got together 4-5 years earlier? I believe they were all 32/33 when they got together? And most great players that wait that long to change teams don't work out in winning a title. Russ, harden, Barkley, and on and on.
Y'all forgot that they was trying start Avery Bradley and told Ray to come off the bench if he signed back. It felt like everyone was against or didn't like ray in Boston. That's a shame because he gets glowingly and upstanding praise everywhere else he played

This is foolish. Boston tried to trade/move on from Ray for 2 years. When they do it, it's business. When the players do it, now he went to the enemy. He was a free agent, a vet. Why would he not attempt to put himself in the best place to win a championship..🤔🤷🏾♂️ he came from a winning organization.

Ray was ring chasing plain & simple because he knew he didn't have much longer in the league...
So what he went. Y’all didn’t value Ray enough to pay him & y’all wanted to bench him. On top of that, y’all didn’t back him up to get paid to stay or start. Other options he had wasn’t contenders. So he too the best option.
That’s false. The Celtics offered him more years and more money. When he got injured the year before Avery Bradley took his starting role at shooting guard and when he came back he felt some type of way about that and then in the off-season when they knew he wasn’t going to return they went and signed Jason Terry

How can you say Lebrom changed that when that’s literally part of the Rivalry days you miss? That move created the rivalry and Boston literally did it first. KG left Minnesota to go there and that was Ray Allen’s 3rd team. Most players don’t even have the power to stay where they want. Ask Derozen, Holiday and IT about that. Then he went up against the warriors 4 years in a row and another time with LA. He’s literally responsible for all the high profile rivalries since the decision

6. at that stage of his career there is no point to go to a non contender if he doesnt feel like retiring in boston, the HEAT gave him less money but showed him how they would use him and appreciate his ability to help the team win, his is what a basketball player wants to hear, and he did helped the heat win with a miracle shot and made him an important piece in the title run
Man the Heat would have been 1-4 during that run if they hadn't added Ray Allen for that 2013 season! Crazy to think about how stacked the Heat were. Three top 10 players in the league with the best 3 point shooter of all time at the time.
And than imagine Duncan tying up or passing up Mike
The Celtics put Ray on the trading block multiple times and benched him. Why was he expected to stay loyal to an organization that showed no loyalty to him?
Ray did exactly what he was supposed to do.
They think he supposed to care about everybody else feelings when they didn't care about his.
Business goes both ways.
Ray Allen was a trader. He took less money to be a bench player for the heat.
Could of went anywhere else but he was being spiteful
@@BoosterGoldEarth6
They had already tried to trade Ray several times before that. Why would be loyal to a teak that kept him on the trade block?
You say it like Paul and KG were the ones trying to trade Ray... They most likely had nothing to do with that. Ray was being spiteful.
@@lenorencepayton6879
So Ray supposed to not go get another ring because they don't like it?
Paul and KG were the ones doing the talking after he left.
It's only sports where people are expected to stay and be happy where they're not wanted.
You would never tell your kid to stay in a place that doesn't value you.
I dont know what went on behind closed doors. I understand Ray doing that to the Organization. But him doing that to his "boys" his "riders"... They shouldn't have had to be affected by what they didnt have control over. That was the part that was trash. That was the most low down disgusting move. But I also understand Ray's side as a man. As Boston fan that was messed up
KG is right. I get players nowdays change teams like socks, but back in the days beef was beef, and going to your rival was considered backstabbing
It was honestly the biggest betrayal I can recall in recent memory outside of the KD move.
@@lauramalik5156 You can call it what you want but where was Garnett leadership skills at when he knew Ray Allen and Rondo were beefing; along with he knew Ray felt some kind of way about Doc Rivers having him come off the bench. Did Garnett speak up then, but when the man leave, he has a lot to say.
Also, Garnett is the one to talk about players leaving teams when he practically forced his way out of Minnesota because he couldn't beat Kobe, Duncan, and the Suns back then. Why did KG want to go to Boston to build a super team back then? Hypocrisy at its finest!
@@marcc.5535you're a 🤡 gotta love casuals like you that call that boston team a super team even tho they were literally all over 30 when they got together. Mfs just love throwing that word around. Wasn't even used back then.😂😂
@@marcc.5535 I agree with you on the first part about KG's leadership.
Ray was in trade talks as well and he got his mins reduced for Avery Bradely. But I feel KG. The one team you go to is the Heat lol.
Did bro low key say "your unquestionably white lmao" 🤣
Y'all forgot that they was trying start Avery Bradley and told Ray to come off the bench if he signed back. It felt like everyone was against or didn't like ray in Boston. That's a shame because he gets glowingly and upstanding praise everywhere else he played
I miss that Boston team and I'm not even a Boston fan.
Fact is life's too short.
KG was one of my fav players-hell they all were as it was my childhood. Can’t tell someone how to feel but I never agreed w/him. Y’all won, they didn’t want to pay Ray. He earned the right to go anywhere damn where. It’s a JOB!
This uncut gems guy been killing it lately
Now that it's been proven that the Celtics organization has no loyalty, I wonder if people look at that whole situation differently. No ray Allen, no. Championship. Yet they wanted to trade a top tier player
Always loved KG s Passion!
He literally joined the team eliminated him just 30 days after a game 7.
Movin like KD
It's basketball. Not war
Celtics-heat rivalry was cool but i think the drose bulls-Celtics rivalry was the best in my young lifetime. Every game was a BATTLE rondo and rose were dogs!!
I don’t know the exact year but I think it was 2009. That “first round”playoff series with those multiple overtime games is one of the best “first round” series that I’ve seen.
@@spoonthetrack7643 it was around that time but yes! Loved that series. Don’t see that type of intensity now a days. There wasn’t crazy floor spacing and wide open 3s like now a days. It was a BATTLE and every point was earned. Great basketball to watch
They played 1 time? How is that a rivalry?
Congrats you have won dumbest comment of the day
1:28 Mookie Blaylock, Steve Smith?? Correct me if I'm wrong, but SAS went a decade back in the timeline from the discussion. 😂
It's the way he done it. Like KG said, he was looking at houses and stuff already knowing it's a chance he could go and he didn't let his guys know. Like at least tell ya homies you thinking bout leaving
@@richierich4330 I would understand. If there were reports of KG/Pierce telling the front office to remove Ray in those trade rumors. But ultimately Ray needed to do what was best for him and his family. He doesn't owe anyone anything. Similar to when Kyrie wanted out if Cleveland. This is pro sports/business
@aaronhutchinson885 I agree with you. I'm pro player. Do what's best for you. All I'm saying is if you my guy and you thinking bout leaving, let ya boy know. Forget the organization, we talkin man to man stuff
KG is the man
😂😂 kg talking about his time in Boston and Stephen a brings up guys on the hawks from like the 90s
To be honest Ray knew that Celtics window was closing.
Ray Allen was a homosexual he had a thing going on with Bosh, that’s why left Boston
Ray Allen was gay he had a thing going on with Bosh, that’s why left Boston
People will never understand that Ray going to Miami to play with Lebron is the equivalent of Klay going to Cleveland, Mchale going to the Lakers or Worthy going to Boston. Ray tried to use the excuse that Rondo didn't like him or pass the ball to him (which is total bullshit) when in actuality Rondo saw his departure before anyone. Ray was ring chasing plain & simple because he knew he didn't have much longer in the league...
The best guest
Looking at cribs is crazyyyyy 😂😭
This the same move KD did.. He learned this from Ray Allen
And y’all still running with a fake narrative 😂. Ray literally settled for all of that in Miami
Facts
Bro The Big 3 Celtics Heatles and D-Rose Bulls Was Some of the Best Ball the NBA Presented They held down the early 2010's..None of them fucked with each other Lol
He was looking at houses when they were in Miami during the playoffs? I’m far from a KG but even that would bother me
A man can go where he wants to.
Ray Allen was a Beast period
This is how Draymond is gonna feel when Klay goes to the Nuggets.
Draymond gotta be the most overrated player in nba history
starting to like KG now
I love KG 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Ray Allen did it before KD did.
Love KG Perspective On Ball. Homie Too Real.
ray allen was a bitch to leave a team of his peers- and join their literaly only rival in the same conference. really never liked him since then. whatever beef you have- those celtics vets were LOYAL - and you know how KG is- he bleeds loyalty.
SAS only asked that question in the beginning to comfort his ego. "Am I right?" is the typical phrase of people who need confirmation so badly for their ego
You been his friend since childhood and you gonna let a business decision that doesn't even impact you much ruin a friendship? Doesn't sound like you're much of a friend.
he can go wherever he wants, its his life and career
@kanajingly8957 then they should've made him want to stay in boston
Ray was not getting good minutes in Boston , and there was talk about him being relegated to the bench if I remember correctly 🤔 he and rondo did not see eye to eye … why didn’t them guys do anything about that ?
You talking organization wise. KG is saying we boys at least come and talk about your moving on.
His ankle issues had come back and he was in and out of the lineup, if memory serves. That's when avery bradley emerged as a legit player, especially defensively. Started taking those minutes. That was the beginning of the end
So basically in a nutshell, Kevin Garnett thought he was the main character on the Boston team.
He was a main character on the team…
miss that era
People don’t seem to understand beef. It’s not a petty dislike, it’s actual serious animosity. It’s thrown a lot and downplayed and overused today, but beef is serious.
So when KG says they were beefin’ with Miami in a gangbangin league it wasn’t a competitive angst, it was damn near war
Looking at cribs during the playoffs is crazy 😂😂😂😂
Stepehn A. really said Mookie Blaylock lol
Going to LA would’ve been worse. That’s the real rivals 😂
KG triggered by that question.
I miss when the league was like this. People picked a city, a team, and they stayed. The hate for rivals was real. Lebron really changed all that woth his "decision". He's done a lot of good for basketball but that's one contribution that was terrible
I 100% agree. That group of primadonnas from the 2003 NBA draft forever fucked up the NBA into the bitchass league it is today.
Yeah Lebron started the slut movement of players jumping from one team ro the other.
The same people who give Ray Allen a pass are the same ones who’s scorching Durant. Hypocrites
Stephen a. And KG need there own podcast! Ijs
KG!!!!! Salute ✊
Feel sorry for KG Ray Allen fell for the LeBron experience
2010 Finals was the end and an NBA era. All that team shit went out the window.
If KD do it it's a problem 😂
KG stand on business
Ray Allen was wrong for that that's a trader kinda like what KD did. But it's more serious with the Ray Allen joining his rival.
Nahh bruh, he's not over that sht. They won a championship because of Ray, he's still in his feelings
That Championship team was nasty though, damn.
KG’s a cool dude. I ran into him at the mall in Greenville SC when I was about 9 and he bought me a jersey and a poster and signed it.
Btw KG he went to high school here (Mauldin HS) and grew up here, before transferring up north.
thanks for explaining the beef
thanks for listening to Paul Pierce advices.....
Above all its sports you and Ray Allen are true champions
Remember Magic did say he was sorry to what happen to Isaiah Thomas he wept and embrace him publicy as a sign of reconciliation
Yeah Paul piece is right (covid pandemic, passing of Kobe........;) all these moments of life should help you to put things in perspectives
Please mister Garnet finds you bro Ray Allen one day and around a coffe or a tea make peace
KG even seem crazy during the interviews ahahahahahha
I wonder how russ felt when KD left to the warriors
Damn. I didn’t know Ray was house shopping during the playoff series. Cold World
What's understood ain't gotta be explained
making it sound like he went there just to beef wit u.
KG is just pissed off that Ray got another ring. 😂
This is why you're ignorant. Ray came to the Celtics bench to dap up his former teammates and KG ignored him. They literally showed this on tv. Stop being a follower.
Lotta bron fans in these comments taking up for Ray because he saved Lebrons legacy with that shot . Yall ain’t fooling nobody. What ray did was some sucka shit period.
KG was 100% right
KG wasnt feeling it either when Anthony Peeler snuffed him
It's safe to say KG still ain't over it I feel like in a way he forgave them but at the same time it's like you're not God I think he needed to release that anger for himself I don't think that they're friends I don't think that he's inviting Ray out to his house so like I said it's safe to say he ain't over it KG got real disrespectful because he's one of my favorite players of all time I don't care He's a straight dog phenomenal talent they don't make them like him no more but I just it got too deep and he just really got too disrespectful with Ray Allen and it it just got past the game for me and I understand not feeling him going to Miami okay BUT when they were retired he still kept it going man I can see when they were still playing you don't want to deal with RAY fine BUT It went too far and it is what it is I'm standing on business I'm standing on my opinion it is what it is KG needed the shit smacked out of him for how deep he went with the OUT RIGHT DISRESPECT TOWARD THAT MAN. CUZ AT THE END OF THE DAY SOME SHIT YOU DON'T COME BACK FROM!
The heat still kicking Boston out of the playoffs to this day😂
😂
Ray Allen was the first KD
Let's take a look at this. Ray Allen goes to Miami and wins an NBA Championship in his first year playing with with the Miami Heat. I think he made a right decision.
I didn't get that last part...as a lakers fan..no he couldn't have...Celtics vs lakers is crips vs bloods....that's the last team he could have come to...especially after they whooped us to get a title..we been beefing with Celtics since magic and bird...Celtics and heat ain't really got the same type of beef..history...
Celtics didn't pay Ray Allen his money. You expected him to sacrifice his career for a team careless about him.
