it's hard to believe that only the 5.0/305 was available in CA. The 2 inline 6 cylinder engines especially the 292 ran forever.. The other 49 you could choose from everything but the 454 in a C-10...

My grandfather had a 1981 Chevy Scottsdale white with a brown dash and khaki seats with khaki door handles with original radio and it was tall like a 4x4
I actually forgot that the suburbans were offered in the different trim packages. I was scratching my head at seeing the Scottsdale badge on one for a few minutes. It's been a minute. 😆

@mgtowfish73 The 1981 only, to be exact (incidentally, GMC also dropped the Sierra Grande name after 1981 too). These were, chronologically, the trim levels of the '73-'87 Chevy trucks: 1973-74, Custom, Custom Deluxe, Cheyenne and Cheyenne Super (base to top-of-the-line, respectively; the same's also true of the '71-'72 trucks); 1975-81, Custom Deluxe, Scottsdale, Cheyenne and Silverado (again, base to top-of-the-line, respectively and, yes, before 1999, Silverado was the top-of-the-line trim level ONLY); 1982-87, Custom Deluxe, Scottsdale and Silverado (once more, base to top-of-the-line, respectively; as I said, 1981 was the Cheyenne's last season and GMC, likewise, followed suit for 1982 by doing the same thing).
I had a 1991 Cheyenne, but I've never seen any between 78-87 tho. In 88 a Cheyenne was bottom trim no cloth, no stereo, no ac. My 91 had a rubber plug where the radio antenna would've been on the fender lol

Even for 1981, those Chevy trucks still had the latest “technology and stuff”.
post more of these classic auto adds i love them they give a lot of info that is hard to find!
I never heard of the "K-10" designation used on the K-5 Blazer. Every fender badge I saw always said "K-5".
They were badged as “K-5 Blazers” but they were internally referred to as “K-10 Blazers” within GM.
These older trucks were certainly better in it's simplicity .
Ummm…didn’t you just describe everything older brah? 🤔

I have a 1985 C10 that is my favorite vehicle! Even over my new vehicles. They just don’t make em like that any more. 🇺🇸
If they can start making these instead of the breadboxes they make today I'll go to the dealership tomorrow and order one 👍
I'd be there

People actually used trucks off-road?
GM stopped making trucks in 2007. It's a shame.
Totally agree! 1999-2006 (07 Classic) were the last decent trucks from GM...2007+ are cheap expensive unreliable garbage
