Okay using the clips that were meant to be used on outdoor tall plants, to hang little bags of snacks is a little too much

@AndreaJean …I had to a quick rewind 4x to see if my eyes were playing tricks on me… Girl, when you were using 2 layers of TP to iron seal the chip bag & you held your fingers out to indicate “ 2”, I could have sworn up & down that you were flipping the bird with your middle finger!!! 😂
      Funny Story….
It reminded me of my childhood. During an argument, my parents flipped each other off, & when I asked what that meant?… they told me it means “I Love You”…
So naturally I went to school and started telling people I loved them with my middle finger & was sent to the principals office, where my mom had to pick me up & take me home for the day….
When the rest of the extended family heard about it, they all adopted the middle finger as the entire family’s “I love you” gesture & that’s how we all greeted one another at gatherings for 30+ years… 😂
*I was only 7 y.o. when they told me the middle finger = I love you
*after being sent home from school, they explained it was a bad word, & NOT to be used in public, but in our family it honestly became the “I love you” from that day forward. 😂
*I promise I wasn’t raised by hellions… My Grandfather was a small town Preacher my entire life & we were taught Morals & Values, Respect & Kindness.

Funny. But, you do know how she was just giving you different ideas so you could choose which one(s) you may have the " instrument" for. Not everybody has a binder clip or a paper clip, etc. Some may have one or the other to use, if not all of them. Still, though, your comment made me chuckle. 😸👍

Just my opinion, but all of these ways include spending money when you can do it for free by just folding the bag. I like hacks, but not spending unnecessarily to get it done.

Allow me to pay it forward... when using tape, any kind of tape to seal a bag like you did or if you're going to apply the tape with the intention of removing it at a later date fold the edge of the tape in so you now have a tab to grab onto when you want to remove the strip of tape. It's such a simple trick but one that saves a lot of time and frustration when all you have to do is pull the flap of tape you made when you folded it over that half inch. Hope that helps!

I also do that even if I am just labeling something. I fold a side down so when I need to switch it out, it is much easier than digging to get an edge. I also use the big binders to hook a towel onto my kitchen stove for easy hand drying. Those reseal bag ideas are good, but I have found the easiest save cost way to reseal a snack bag is simply to buy one from Amazon or somewhere usually for under 15 dollars but it actually pays for itself. Just takes a little practice and soon you don't have to take out an iron that is cost/energy defective IMO. I like to reseal mine close to the amount still left.

I just plop open bags of chips or whatever into zip lock bags, which adjust to size as the bag empties as you push out the air and can fold them - then use the bags again. For things like cereal I remove the bag of cereal from the box, and usually cut out parts of the box that provide serving size/calories, etc., and maybe a "best by" date.

I appreciate the ideas for closure options. Might be for a trip, camping, something not eaten daily, items other than food. Maybe not every method is for every day, but they are good tips to know, and I also appreciate the creativity and effort put into making videos for all of us to watch. I am sorry there are folks who feel the need to criticize. Thumper’s mother said “if you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all. “. Good advice from a rabbit.

I don’t know how you keep up with all your hints, but there is one that I have always done…fold the top of the chip bag into a point-then fold down 3 or 4 times, far enough for your clip to fit. It keeps contents fresh longer and takes only 1 clip. 🙂

I will be trying that baggie hack for sure! Going to make up some meals!
I used two command clips on my trash can, (up side down) then you just hook the handle’s from the bag under it. Works great on holding it in place!

Great video!! Used to use the chip clip method until we invested in a food saver sealer. It seals all chip bags, cereal bags, cracker bags, etc. The produce bags that you buy for the sealer keeps most produce fresh for at least 3 weeks in the fridge. It is well worth the investment. Approx price range is $45.00 to 100.00.

My favorite way to keep bags closed around the house is office rubber bands. Easy, keeps it rolled up, hard to fall off and cheap. I roll the bag up and place it around the whole bag.

NEVER put extra unused bags on the bottom of your pail. If your bag somehow gets a small puncture or tear near the bottom it will leak garbage juice all over the other bags. I used to do this and learned the hard way lol

I like the ziplock bag idea. Most of the others are clever but I wouldn't take the time for them, aside from a bag clip. You can buy a mini type "seal a meal", it runs on a battery, i keep it hung on my fridge. It's about only a couple inches and is especially nice to reseal frozen food bags. It even cuts off the excess bag while it seals. You slide it across the bag part you want sealed; like 2 seconds. They're called... mini bag sealers if you wanna do a search.

    • @jennylombardi7630
      @jennylombardi7630 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I've gone through several of these bag sealers, as they don't seem to work for long. My first one was great, but I don't remember what brand it was. Do you have a brand that you like that had been reliable and consistent (not finicky in how well it works)?

These are great, except it can be frustrating when you are the only one in the household that cares enough to secure the bags. I get frustrated, too, when others in the house rip a bag apart in order to get it opened to the point you have to put the snacks in a ziplock bag; otherwise the content won’t stay in because the bag is pretty much destroyed. Arghhhhhh 😮

Laughed and told her I always have used them for that , and of course hanging clothes on the line.

Garbage bags stay up if you snug the bag to the container with a simple little trick. After lining the can, pull the excess at the top into one hand, twisting the tail end 2-3 times, and then, tuck that under the tight section created...by twisting that extra bit. Your bag will fit as if you had a rubber band on it. Your iron took long time to show up in this video considering the title! Thank you for another fun video.

@@martasplace6414 When you put the bag in the container it's too loose and wants to fall in. Gently gather that loose edge of the bag, twist it together to make the bag fit more snugly and, tuck the little tail created when you twisted underneath the tightened edge. I noticed this at a hotel I was in once years ago and I've copied them ever since.😆

Considering future air travel by putting drinking water into a zip lock and layer it with other ZLs that have snacks. Carry the original water bottle & lid empty like you will fill it from a tap after TSA check but use zip bag water instead.

Um….with that a little bit of chips left, just eat them. You know you want to! 😏

I use hair tights for all of that and the office clips at home. But if I’m in the office o will use paper clips and whatever I can get ahold of that works.

A much better method- fold each side of chip bag at an angle along opposite side - creating a point at the top- then fold point down - a much tighter seal and one clip holds securely.

I'll teach you one if you will drill a hold in the bottom of the trash can right in the middle, you won't have to pull so hard when emptying the trash.

For criminany sake, just buy a $5 bag sealer. I love mine. It's quick and easy and really seals the bags. Those clips don't do a good job of keeping the humid air out, especially if you live somewhere like Miami.
