A great work horse of a rifle! I've owned this exact rifle for 12 years or so now and I love shooting it. Never had any issues with rust, reliability or accuracy. It's over engineered especially in the .223 calibre, but that's a good thing imo.

Thank you!! Thank you!! Thank you!! As an aside they continued to make versions of the MII All Weather up until 2012 (even with a few being release into 2013/14) with an upgraded synthetic stock, I say upgraded because they made it look and feel better, not better as in higher quality materials. The stainless steel in these rifles up until approx. 2012 is good quality, and I say good with the purpose of comparing it to the stainless they use today or on anything including said All Weathers that came out very late as previously mentioned as being utter junk. To be clear what they use today for any M77 Hawkeyes/Predators is very dark grey in colour, with light speckling and slightly better stainless steel used only on the bolt. But all in all is absolutely garbage by comparison to the stainless steel on the rifle you're holding in the video. I had very limited knowledge of this up until recently and your video really helped me confirm what I already suspected, the steel is so much better that despite the fact I've yet to see one in person and from pictures only it actually looks like the steel is just chromoly steel that has been left in the white or polished down to bare metal as it were. But it is NOT!! And my god is it glorious, can't wait to get my hands on one, they are true gems and should be handed down from Grandfather to grandson or whatever...

It is a night and day comparison between current production and the older generation. The stocks are no where near as robust.... and as stated... the stainless has far less nickel content.

@@dsar9489 Finally got it and I literally drove all day just to get it, the journey was epic and result was equally so. I can't believe how solid it is, it's beyond any stainless I've seen before. How is it even possible that it exists, it's like having something made out of whatever Thor's hammer is made out of. I've seen pics of it and thought that's not stainless, there's no way. I've seen barrels made of stainless look like that on custom bench guns, but I had never seen a factory rifle made from that level of stainless. my mind couldn't grasp it, i had to see it for myself. It's like having a gun thats so much better than any other gun I've owned that I immediately stopped feeling bad about the awesome guns I've sold in the past and now the only thing I need is this. Mine has had the barrel tapped for a scope, not sure why but I guess the previous owner must have been retarded. All the more reason to get another one that is free from tampering and buy it!!

@@dsar9489 Do you know when Ruger introduced the hogue and laminate stocks, was it in 06 with the Hawkeye? I've seen a black and a green version of the Hogue stock as well, The green with the Ruger emblem on the butcap and the black without it. I know there's a target version with a blondish laminate stock, and there's a grey stock version as well. Any help would be hugely appreciated...

@@dsar9489 When do you figure the stainless quality dropped off, I'm thinking it was in the late 90's but I'm really not sure.

  • @DMX-PAT

I have to ask, where did you hear about the tooling for the Mark II's being worn out early on due to the high grade stainless they used? I love these guns and I was just curious, not trying to being annoying or anything? I actually got one recently and decided to put the entire rifle in the dishwasher because I was that confident that it could hold up to even high heat cleaning mode and it did. I put the stock in and even the entire trigger assembly. Hope to do a video of it eventually...

@@dsar9489 Why not? It worked perfectly and the stock came out looking spotless, I'll be doing a video of it soon. The stainless can handle it no problem and comes out looking like new.

@@dsar9489 neither, I do love the gun and the cartridge, what I am doing is buying into an update into a 12 BTCSS in 22-250 and need the gun safe space, my hunting mate is trying to convince me in keeping it, more or less an excuse to buy into another calibre
