T S Eliot wrote 'we had the experience but missed the meaning', Laura is privileged to see her meanings in such great poetic music, thank you Laura, Mike
how does anyone leave a Laura Marling gig? I am worried if I went to one I'd stand open mouthed for ages after she'd left the stage, I'd probably need to be escorted out of the building
How have I missed this? This is such a fine LIVE solo performance by Laura. Her skills are obvious here for those with ears and eyes. These songs and this performance is Dyanesque. Her talents continue to grow as a composer, instrumentalist, singer, performer. I feel so lucky to have been able to follow Laura's expansion and look forward to more.
the interviewer asked indirect questions, she didn't do her research. She didn't bring the best out of her...But My lord Laura Marling has it..I am in awe.....
The Joni Mitchell and Nick Drake nnfluences are here....they are a live and well. when I first heard her voice I thought she was at least 40 years old due to her matured sound then I looked her up and saw that she was still in her early 20s..man that's something!
Yes, but what about what she said about this particular guitar when the host asked? That's what I love about her, though. She's mysterious and full of contradictions, both in her music and her public persona.
Never really got on very well with Joni Mitchell, Lord knows, I tried, but Laura Marling is solid gold. The absolute dog's bollocks. No question. The greatest songwriter of her generation, I think. 💖
lol the host is a fool if she thinks the guitar would be knocked out of tune that easily, I love this performance laura's music is so beautiful, and she's so humble too
11:06- Dear host: That's a CF Martin & Co guitar, it's probably worth between $500 and $1000, it's not going to go out of tune after three songs. Although Laura Marling said she doesn't have a good "relationship" with that guitar; I wonder if she's got a sponsorship from them and she has to play it for live performances?
Actually I wish. The commentator is unfriendly in trying to be polite. She would make me feeling uncomfortable. Almost every sentence of her is exaggerated by having a wrong smile. She´s asking uninspiring questions ( 07:00 ) and giving big compliments without any emotion: 07:40 "And you clearly have such a gorgeous voice..."
Marcus schmarcus. She's got four albums to his two and the two post-Marcus albums are better than anything Mumford & Sons could ever hope to make. Granted, I'm still a Mumford & Sons fan, but musically and lyrically she's so far out of his league it almost feels wrong to mention his name on a thread for her video.
They are both great performers and your reasoning is ridiculous. Nick Drake released less albums than Bob Dylan but is arguably greater musically and lyrically. I think the proof that your statements are false is that your original one received enough negative votes to be banned.
marcus mumford has done enough for lm, i think everyone appreciate that, but yes, mumford can never do what lm has done and will be doing, and mumford will never be compared to joni mitchell, or reach joni mitchell level in music history, but laura will. and this is NOT about the sex, for all you sexist.
Laura speaking: hi, yes, aha yea
Laura signing: I will devour you, you pipsqueak
the presentator of this show is so adorable
Cheryl Waters is such a fan. Endearing.

Music soothes the savage beast
That guitar is majestic, as her voice. That is how Martin sounds in person, amazing!
lying in the winter sun listening to this beautiful music. BLISS
How have I missed this?

This album is glorious, brave and beautiful. Slightly obsessed...
Laura has a golden voice.
I saw her do most these songs last night, she is even more beautiful in person and now the post concert depression kicks in
She makes it look so effortless. ...the way it should be. Laura Marling is outstanding!!
Your music never failed me. Love.
Spell binding, indeed. The perfect phrase for how Marling's music hits me. How can she be so young, lol?
I will never be as good at anything as Laura Marling is at playing guitar. She is a goddess.
Please come to the Netherlands soon, you truly are my favourite artist and I'd love to see you live!
LA's gain, a really wonderful vocalist and guitarist.......as I've written before there are elements of John Fahey's style, thank you Laura
beautiful, absolutely beautiful!
YES! Just ordered tickets for Utrecht! Thanks so much, I can't wait!
what a voice... it's so perfect
I woke up feeling truly sad. Then I came up and listened to this.
Thank you so much, Laura.
Profoundly soothing.

I love her. I love her. I love her.
Brilliant!
Brilliant just brilliant!

I hear some Joni Mitchell influence, just loving Laura's performance. Thanks for introducing another great talent to me KEXP.
I would really love some high-quality live footage of Undine, there's not a single video yet...
interesting singer songwriter stuff. She has a really good range and uses it in full to great effect. IMO
I love the question of the woman about Marling tuning her guitar
The Joni Mitchell and Nick Drake nnfluences are here....they are a live and well. when I first heard her voice I thought she was at least 40 years old due to her matured sound then I looked her up and saw that she was still in her early 20s..man that's something!
love the leather jacket
Only 86 comments.Maybe everyone speechless.
15:30 amazing
And to love you have to bleed
And I'm not sure I've got a drop to spare
0 dislikes; the way it should be.
leading the program like a main character of the movie "Saw" ahahahahah)))
i think her father taught her a lot.
I don't think it's about "levels". Marcus Mumford is a fantastic lyricist and guitarist and so is Laura Marling.

Ha, "gee that's a lot of knob turning"! Fruity.
Where can you download Bleed me Dry?
+Tom Foreman On the internet.
God, she is fantastic..... (sigh)

amused disgust
Joni voice quality - Jimmy Page alt tuning. Very easy to listen to.
+Jesse Smith *Joni alt tuning.

Exactly. When I think of Celina Dion for example. She has great range, but makes my toenails curl.
That middle finger at 19:07 though
Logan Hayes Hey funny that, is she really giving it ??????

Does anyone know what which mic is the guitar one?

666 likes. I wont press it. Just seems to fit her leather jacket so damn well.
finer than a dolphin's chest hair
I see, I did ask about the history of the instrument. I must have just read more into it.
no way she loves her martins! ;)
Looks like Dakota Fanning!

I think you got that round the wrong way, LM has done enough for Marcus, she gave him support tours with her throughout the US and AU
range is overrated
don't like this interviewer..
