Lifeforce Pepe cries knowing this could have been his own fate at the hands of Student Pepe if he wasn't set free. Student Pepe knows he is indirectly responsible for this and cries too but is visited by a butterfly, a representation of nature that Lifeforce Pepe also represents. A gross oversimplification given what I gleaned under the influence tbh but it's a base level starting point, the point of even telling this story in the first place and what it manages to somehow get at thematically in under a minute is a completely different topic that I probably could've written a whole essay on in the moment

Every person can relate to this, there’s always a long list of things that you know you have to do but don’t want to, or that you know will happen but don’t want to happen. That list I feel like gets longer as you get older. And sometimes thing in that list can really weigh down on us, feel like a roadblock to your enjoyment with life. And that’s what Pepe here represents: ourselves making it through or coping with those roadblocks.
