Just like this video, I stumbled onto the Espios just recently. I sort of fell in love with them right off the bat, for what they are, and since I bought the 140m and the 105WR. They're lovely little cameras and I couldn't be more happy with them. Although, they both lack the double exposure setting that I would love to have. Anyways, nice video! Happy it popped up in my feed. Subbed!
Thank you for the helpful video. I've seen one of these locally for sale, I didn't know much about it. I'm very tempted as it is mint, boxed has the manual and original case. I dabble in retro 35mm film photography 📸 😲⚠️😳
Great video!! I found this camera in a thrift shop along with other nice point n shoot (olympus 76g and nikon lite touch 140 ed) and I was wondering if you could help me choosing :) besides, what's the aperture of this Espio? I'm really struggling to find out! Anyway, subscribed!! :D
I bought my daughter an Espio 115 and she used it on her recent trip to the UK with great results. I had an espio 90MC but sold it to upgrade to a Ricoh GR1. Great little cameras and well priced as they haven't been hyped yet
The problem with those super long zoom cameras was the ridiculously small apertures. At the wide end you were lucky to get f/4.5 and at the telephoto end it was usually smaller than f/11 or f/12. The flash was therefore almost always necessary. But the flash weakness and the small aperture made long distance shots impossible. What was the point of 150mm if nothing far away was ever really going to be within flash range. I always felt that if you really wanted a zoom lens the 30mm to 90mm ranges were the most useful.
I am a big fan of the Espio range as they are all I use and have quite a few which always give me good results. My Espio 928 was great camera however they are nearing the end of their life now. I wantnthe multiple exposure so I think I will getting the Espio 160.
"What Remains" about Sally Mann and "The Woodmans" are two of my favorite photography docs. I am just giving away a similar camera to this for my 1k prize. I was impressed by it!
I have a Pentax IQZoomEZY. Could a U.S. name. I just put a battery in it to see if it had bulb mode and it does. This model has a stationary Flash. Maybe I'll give it a try later on this year. I don't mind zoom lens cameras being bulky.
@@MadisonBeach not crazy bulb mode. I kind of just guessed how long to home shutter open. It exposed fine but my tripod isn't very sturdy. Normal daytime outdoor pictures came out great.
At the moment the best place is online, if you work out what film you want then find the best deal. Analogue Wonderland are a very good online store :)
"City of Photos" (2004) about photo studios in India. It's got some really interesting stories and images, directed and narrated by Nishtha Jain. It was available on the idfa website a few weeks ago, you might still be able to watch it there. If not, they are streaming loads of other free documentaries. You mentioned a couple videos ago that you were looking for more female film photographers to follow. While I don't know any on youtube, this is a great female documentary filmmaker to check out.
The Olympus mju is pronounced ‘mew’ from Greek letter and can be synonymous with small or 1millionth in mathematics. Sorry to mansplain thought you might be into it as you seem like you like your tech. Olympus used the name as a selling point was that the camera was small
Hi David thanks for commenting :) I didn't actually know the background to it but I do normally pronounce it as 'mew'. I spell it out in my videos as when I 've said mew previously people have commented they don't know how to spell it to find it online. Thanks again!
I found an espio 160 camera just yesterday with its pouch in absolutely great condition in an abandoned semi trailer and was super excited

Thank you and welcome to the channel! And I completely agree, I think the Espio’s are hidden (reasonably priced) gems :)
Just today I saw similar model on some 'top 5 point 'n shoot cameras ever' and it was the only one I knew nothing about. Not anymore thanks to you!
:) :) :)

“Everybody Street” a 2014 documentary about NYC street photographers, directed by Cheryl Dunn, is worth watching
Thank you! Will check it out :)

Yes, I didn’t touch on this too much but definitely agree. There is only around a 1-5m range that this camera effective

Hi there. I've just bought a pentax espio 135. Can you tell me how I can shoot expired film? Because we can't choose iso setting on the camera, right?
Im sure theres probably a better way of doing it but I alter the DX code: shootitwithfilm.com/hack-the-dx-code-on-your-35mm-film/
@@MadisonBeach Thank you so much!
What battery type does it use? I’ve recently just found my parent’s old espio 160 and really want to try it out!
CR123A :)
@@EmilieLindeburg Thank you!!
what type of film do you use? i’m new to the whole film camera thing :)
For colour I really like portra and colour plus and for black & white I really like Ilford hp5 :)
Does anyone recall how much the Espio 160 cost when it first came out?
Picked up an Espio 160 for £6 in and nice to hear your opinion on it.
A good bargain!
Hello ..... I’ve got the same one but light silver .... would love to start using it but I’m unsure of what battery size could you please help :)

Do you know where to get film for the camera?

Brilliant thank you!! Will find it now :)
that's some serious lens tromboning action happening there
😂 you can imagine the kind of nicknames this poor lens gathers
I thrifted an Espio 738 and im hoping to use it soon
How do you set the iso in this camera?
Hi Jordi, the camera reads the DX code on the film canister and the camera sets it automatically :)
@@MadisonBeach thanks Madison! Love your vids :)
I got one today for 2 Euros at a fleamarket 😍
Bargain!
Great channel and content! I post similar content I think you’ll enjoy. Good luck with everything and keep posting!
Great video!
