    💙 There's this new "challenge" going around where you mix Sulfur 8, Doo Gro, and Jamaican Black Castor oil together and use it on your scalp for 30 days, would you try it or recommend it? Everyone on TH-cam who has tried it swears that it works that it made their hair thicker and grow an inch - 1 1/2 inch of length, do you really think it does or do you have doubts? Just curious on your thoughts on it since it's so trendy/popular right now! Much love to ya!

      Just remember products will assist our hair to grow. It is what we are putting inside our bodies "diet", exercise, supplements, getting enough rest and staying away from drama and stress as well as having a consistent and very effective hair regimen. Even with weight loss our diet is about 95% so the same holds true for growing our hair. I would recommend you google hair growth, take notes and also get a journal to document your hair journey including your daily habits, i.e. eating, sleeping, exercise and taking care of your hair. One final thing, we have to BELIEVE that we can grow our hair to whatever lengths we desire and make positive confessions, even when we have a setback. Learn from them and apply good sound knowledge, including what she is giving us. Learn to listen to your body to see what it is telling you to do. Work on being the BEST version of yourself and everything will fall into place.

    Can grease “wear off” during the week? As in, will the layer thin out so I can remoisturize?

    • @sweetlittleapple3882
      @sweetlittleapple3882 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      no, it can't wear off cause in order for your grease to stay you have to put it in a protective style

    • @ToyaRR
      @ToyaRR 4 ปีที่แล้ว +35

      I don't know if it does but after about 5 days I need to re-moisturize. So I just re-wet my hair and scalp - water only or henna infused water - then I grease my scalp and put it on the hair shaft to seal in that moisture. I have 4 a/b/c hair.

    • @fine2thedime
      @fine2thedime 4 ปีที่แล้ว +31

      Yes the grease gets soaked up over time. Then you can re moisturize. I seal with grease so my moisture last. But when your hair starts to feel dry re-apply.

    • @Nailbae
      @Nailbae 4 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      Yes it can it happens to me and i usually have to re moisturize in about 5-7 days.

    • @vanessaclark3443
      @vanessaclark3443 4 ปีที่แล้ว +25

      It depends on your hair! People overdramatize grease, it's an excellent barrier but it's not permanent until wash day, your hair will soak it up eventually. My coarse, low porosity 4C hair soaks up the grease within 2 days so I have to remoisturize. Some can go the whole week. Moisture CAN go back in even with grease, if it was that strong of a barrier then we wouldn't be able to wash it out lol.

      just remoisturize like normal, maybe use warm water and wait for your hair to shrink a little before you reapply your grease. the shrinkage is sign that water has entered your hair.

    Are sulfates the only thing that can remove grease? I’m running out of sulfate shampoo but I have this other one that has no sulfates but strips my hair even more than the sulfate one. Does that means there’s still grease in my hair since I didn’t use sulfates?

      Yanique West I can only speak for myself but I’ve been doing exactly this. I’m currently on week 3 of keeping my hair in cornrows and have been putting doo gro and sulfur 8 on my scalp (at the parts) every night. My hair has grown about an inch on my crown and about half an inch all around. Also my edges are thriving!! I’m really excited about the growth because I had damaged relaxed hair the would relentlessly break whenever I would style it. I’ll be doing my braids again next week (after week 4). I’m trying to start transitioning :)

      R&D E&JLee I grease my scalp in the shower in sections, after deep conditioning, making sure my hair and scalp stay wet. Then after I wet my hair strands not focusing on scalp and apply my leave in, hair cream (it’s the melanin hair care cream, I love it but low porosity hair probably doesn’t need this step), and then a thin layer of oil and/or grease. I use the sulfur grease on my scalp and the blue magic super sure gro on the lenght. I apply a bit more on the ends then I usually flat twist my hair with a bit of water from the shower head so that it can dry stretched. I usually style it later or the next day

      I use grease as a sealant, so whenever I deep condition, I like to use the LCO method, use my leave in and then seal everything up with a sealant (grease or even oil). You can use the grease on your scalp and hair strands. If you wanna use grease make sure your hair is moisturized first! Because grease can’t moisturize your hair, so you wanna apply something to your hair before layering it with grease ❤️‼️

    I don’t know what I’m doing wrong! I used blue magic grease mixed with virgin hair conditioning cream for sone twists. Next day, DRY! no moisture whatsoever. I wrap my hair at night with those beauty supply store satin scarf/durag, but I never have any moisture. My hair is also naturally high porosity, so I thought this would be it!😭😭

    • @mochiiqueen3616
      @mochiiqueen3616 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Shaunna try get a good leave in conditioner or just dampen with water then use grease to lock in the moisture. Grease is a sealant so if there is no moisturize it’s really just sealing in the dryness.

    ❤❤❤❤how to use greese...Do you apply hair greese while your hair and scalp is dry? I've heard if applied while damp or wet, it can cause fungus. What are your thoughts. Secondly, if one has areata alopecia, in your opinion, is it okay to use greese?

    • @vastya.3255
      @vastya.3255 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      your hair has to be damp and your scalp has to be clean and damp. applying grease on a clean scalp will not cause fungus, but rather fight it off. grease is a sealant, just like an oil.
