    I have high porosity 4c hair. I wash my every three weeks or once a month. To shampoo my I use a clarifying shampoos by Sauve mixed Dr. Bonner Peppermint Castile soap. For a deep conditioner Cream of Narure Intesive conditioning treatment with Argan oil. For a leave-in sprits I use Aloe Vera juice. For a hair grease/oils I Blue Magic‘s with Bergamot (the green one) I just add oils and herbs to it to take it up a notch. 💜 Hair grease is the best choice for me. 💙

    Love the advice... LOVE THIS CHANNEL TOO..... I am only at 2:18 and I want to share that you are right. I don't have itchy or dry scalp and I tried it. It did aggravate my scalp. So I just use the oils now.
    I do put sulfur in a water bottle and spray it in my scalp after the grease didn't work for me. But I do know other people who use it that have dry and itchy scalp, and it works wonders for them.
    I do also use the tea tree oil with water come and I spray that on my hair as well. That has been good for me too.

If you can’t find any sulphate shampoo good enough use dawn dish soap .Make sure to use periodically a moisture and protein treatment on your locs. To reduce breakage as much as possible . 🤍💮🤍💮🤍💮 For that video.
    I have high porosity hair and grease has been a godsend for me so far. I have never experienced my hair feeling so moisturized in ... ever. I'm still getting the hang on my own regimen but currently I wash my hair every other week with some regular sulfate shampoo and condition with some regular conditioner [on a budget 😭] , after I do an ACV rinse to help close the cuticle [I've noticed my hair has also seemed more soft and more easily untangled afterward]. Then I use a moisturizer, oil mixture and then grease in that order to put my hair up and use tea tree oil with peppermint oil on my scalp. It has been great for me so far. One week in I use a mixture of ACV diluted in water in a spray bottle focusing mostly on my scalp to help break up the bonds of the sebum and coax it down my strands and remoisturize and seal my hair. Just need to get myself on a protein treatment regimen now. lol.
    Also need to get some Sulfur 8 to try on my scalp. The tea tree oil and peppermint has help my scalp issues pretty well so far but let's see if I can make it better. :3

    @EfikZara, first of all,I love the look and I love your hair.I am a new subscriber and I have been watching your videos for about two weeks. Can you please do a video on hair regimen for high porosity hair? My hair is fine, thin almost like cotton, colored, high porosity, low density, low elasticity, curly/coily textured 3c/4a and I have an itchy scalp. I have started about a month ago, incorporating more protein (I use the APHogee line, I have the Orignal line White and Pink to include the Shampoo for Damaged Hair, Keratin 2 Minute, The Two Step Treatment, and Leave in as well as recently purchased their new line the Curlific, I have everything in that line except the Leave-in, which I am looking for and will purchase as soon as I can).
    I also use other store bought products like Giovanni, Mielle and Shea Moisture (mainly their masks). I have been using Shea Butter (yes, even with fine hair - I recently did a DIY mixture where I used my mixer and it came out so soft and creamy - my daughter loves it for her thick, long and healthy 4a/4b hair).
    My goal is to 1st concentrate on getting a healthy scalp. Next I want to retain length and to grow back my edges as well as thicken my hair out. After I use up the products that I have, which is a lot, I will be looking to purchase mainly products with good ingredients like the Innate Life and I have a friend who makes her own products, as well as making my own products and of course hair grease.
    Thank you again for the content and always making GREAT videos. Blessings💗💗💗

I have been neutral since 2013 but my hair never really grew past the 'awkward stage', so I would then cut it really short to rock a twa, for some reason it was easier to manage. Now, since last year I decided to let my hair grow again and I am at that 'awkward stage' again. Now I read that for low porosity hair it's good to deep condition once a week, but I thought you should only deep condition after you washed your hair with a shampoo. So, I am confused do I put deep condition on dry hair, or wet my hair first or use a rinse out conditioner but then again that would be co-wash. How can i deep condition on the weekly basis? I am looking forward to all of your answers. Stay bless and safe X

      In order to get a product to penetrate the hair shaft, the hair has to be at least damp but deep conditioners generally follow, see the instructions on the jar, a shampoo or a cold wash. The deep conditioner is not left on the hair oh, it is rinsed out thoroughly after the 20 or 30 minutes or more. I think you may be talkin about a leave-in conditioner that can be placed on slightly damp hair throughout the week as the liquid part of the lco or the loc method or it can be placed on dry hair if it's a very liquid like leaving conditioner. It does not have to be rinsed out, follow up with your moisturizer and sealants. Hope this helps.

      @@sable7114 Hey, thank you for your answer. I am not sure if I was clear in my question. For example I got this sentence from 'natruall club website about 4c hair' and she said this: ''While we recommend most customers deep condition every 2 weeks, 4C hair, in particular, thrives with weekly deep conditioning treatments'' - my question is if she washes her hair with shampoo once a month, how do you deep condition every week. Doesnt deep conditioner create build up? Most deep conditioners I used in the past, says use after shampooing. So I am wondering, what deep conditioners do you use, to do the weekly deep conditioning? Sorry if I bombard you with questions, its just this one bit was never clear to me. looking forward to your answers. best x

    Hi Zara. I love your hair. I watched an old video of yours using henna. I researched and found that henna colors hair, turns black hair into dark brown. My question is, did the henna change your hair color? Do you still use henna? How often do you use it?

    • @EfikZara
      @EfikZara  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I use Henna religiouslyHenna does not actually make dark hair, brown. It makes dark hair, darker. My hair is actually not completely black, but the henna made my hair look darker. That’s because it compounds on the base. It cannot lighten hair, but only make the hair deeper and richer. I have not used henna in a few months because I’ve been lazy... but I normally use it every 6-8 weeks.

      Thanks for the swift response💖💕 Love you more. I'm thinking about using your henna recipe but then got scared, don't want my black hair to change. But now, I'll rather just do some strands test and see how it affects my own hair first. Please do a length check, your hair is huge!💞💟💜 your hair is goals, I'm at bra strap length currently

    Hey Zara!! I had to braid my hair because I had serious “hand in hair” and broke my ends. My stylist said oil my scalp but I notice my scalp is getting drier and more irritated, even with my peppermint oil mix. What can I do? I have my hair moisturizer mix which helps tremendously. Help!! Thanks!!👏🏾👏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

      Im not Zara, but I do know that peppermint oil, if you use too much of it can actually be more drying than moisturizing. Essential oils especially you need to be careful with because they can be irritating to the skin/ scalp in high concentrations

    • @noreehix5714
      @noreehix5714 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Marilyn Petty peppermint oil is a carrier oil meaning you have to mix it with another oil in order to reap the benefits. I use coconut or sweet almond with peppermint and it gives it a moisturizing effect.

    • @marilynpetty2509
      @marilynpetty2509 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I mix peppermint oil with sweet almond oil and olive oil. I may go without the oil for a day and see if I’m overreacting. Thanks for the advice!👏🏾👏🏾👍🏾

      @@noreehix5714 I think you meant peppermint oil is an essential oil. But yeah it works best when mixed with a carrier oil. If you like it with sweet almond oil, you might like it in grapeseed oil too. It's super dope and a little lighter for the quarantine summer.

      It depends! Since my hair is so dry naturally, I like to condition and then deep condition. You don’t have to do it like this, but this is what works for me and it helps my hair to be even softer.

    I have type 4c low porosity hair and it's extremely dry. I do my hair in twists after wash day and moisturize my hair every other night with hot water and aloe vera and then I seal in that moisture with an oil mix. I would like to incorporate grease in my regimen so I purchased sulfur 8. I don't have scalp issues anymore so hopefully it doesn't come back but can you advise how I should incorporate the grease to my current routine (i.e instead of sealing moisture in with oil mix I use grease)? And if I did that would it be too much grease on my hair if I did it every other night?

    • @danmeck5978

      Continue to seal with oil then use grease on the last few inches of hair and the sulphur 8 on your scalp.

    I find myself moisturising my hair every 1-2 days. My typical regimen is fenugreek and Pepermint infused water, then the cantu leave in conditioner and I seal it with shea butter.
    Do you clasify shea butter as a grease or do you think i should add grease to this to seal it all in.
    Also my hair is thin, low to medium density so how do i find that balance of protecting my hair but not going overboard which may cause my fine hair to break.
    Love your videos! ❤️ 🥰

    Hi Zara, I have dry low porosity 4c natural hair and I started using petroleum again thanks to you! I also clarify my hair every weekend! Petroleum does keep my hair moistured longer than before (4 days instead of 1). But after those 4 days it's dry again and I'm not ready to shampoo just yet. What do you suggest? Because you dont recommend cowashing for low porosity. Should I just spray my hair with a mist and wait for my next shampoo?
