- Accessing the "External" Shift Mechanism on a 2011 zx6r with a motionless shift pedal.
My 2011 ZR-6R (10k miles) got stuck in neutral while riding it normally on the road. I am opening this motorcycle to understand why it got stuck and in the hopes of being able to fix it myself.
Bike's history: I recently purchased this motorcycle from Oregon. The last owner dropped the bike on its left side the day of purchase on his way to the train station where I was. The damage is nothing too crazy. I have since put about 1k miles on it. I've also had to change the clutch cable.
As of writing this. the bike is now working again! I still do not know what is causing it to get stuck but I know how to fix it next time it happens.
I am not a professional, please do your own research.

hey man how did you get the outer clutch basket back into the bike??? mine came out like yours after taking out the spacer but now i cant get it to clear a bolt on the top right side of the case!
Always use proper tool for the job if possible. There is a clutch holding tool specific for Kawasaki for $40
SPEAK UP!!!!
How big is that bolt you have to take off? It's gotta be bigger than an inch, I can't find a socket big enough
I can’t recall the exact size but I had to buy multiple socket sets to find one big enough
I need parts
What caused this problem.. did you manage to find the solution.. I have the same issue
Sliding the shift shaft out of the case made it unstuck. On my other video, you can see how I fixed the same issue on the side of the road in 2 minutes
@charlesb689 mine the gear shaft already broken. And I already changed it... tq for the info
How about $75.00 dollars?
$20 bucks
I will give you $100 for the bike.
