    I have a HoH hyper shell infield glove and a pro preferred catcher’s mitt, and I really like both. HoH are way easy to break in but the pro preferred is more confortable and feels better. I think they are both very good glove.

      I find Pro Preferred is easier to break in but that may just be because its more comfortable from the beginning

      In my experience HOH is a rock and PP less of a rock, but much better feel which is most important. But then again some say Rawlings horween leather is better than both which I just ordered, so we’ll see! Lol.

    Just bought a HOH wing tip 11.75". Broke in over the last couple days and it's fitting amazing. Perfect for 3B slopitch as I prefer a smaller glove.

    I think Rawlings like 20ish years ago were still figuring out the pro preferred line. So they actually used really high end materials for the whole glove until they figured them out to know where they needed high end leather and where they didn't. These days they kind of skip out in a lot of areas unfortunately because they know what they are doing haha. But, I wonder if mine is any different. I can lend it to yuh if you want

    So I literally just bought a pro preferred 2 days ago and I found this channel because I was searching “how to use a mallet to break in a glove”. Lol this channel is so awesome. Wild the price of these bad boys now. Swear my heart of the hides were $150ish back in early 2000s and pro preferred were $250ish. My Primo was like $400ish and that’s basically a pro preferred now. Inflation a mother!

  • @baileysmith4744
    @baileysmith4744 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    i firmly believe the best glove you can have (for infield) is a pro preferred back and palm liner, with the heart of the hide palm. for outfield its all pro preferred, and for catching its all preference (i like my HOH YM4 but i may have gotten lucky with the palm liner being so comfortable)

    • @baileysmith4744
      @baileysmith4744 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Rick Frank . The weight difference is hard to notice and for outfield i think comfort is very important, and durability is hardly something you notice either because both gloves will last you a lifetime if you take care of it. Id much rather a comfortable glove that lasts 20 years of my 20 year playing career than a glove that is harder to break in, doesnt feel as nice, and is still stiff after im done playing, especially when for the outfield a loose glove is much better for the hand

    If you want a heavy speeder-upper: Use your 200lbs ahem your 178 lbs and your heels. To get the initial creases going i manually fold right along the line I want, then stand on it in my stocking feet for a while. puts them in with semi permanence pretty quick. Same with crushing cardboard boxes, don't bother with the removing the tape and folding them up, just start using your weight and crush them. Let the Earth do the work. Durability is most important, you can make a super hard thick thick leather still pliable and easy to use, so go for the steer leather.

    • @baileysmith4744

      Bubbles are caused by you closing the glove too early in the break-in stage (i saw Chris say this to someone else's comment earlier). Using a weight or mallet on the palm can get rid of bubbles, and then just copy Chris' break-in from there. Usually forcing the glove closed is what causes bubbles because the leather is taking the easiest way to break tension as you apply pressure, which is usually by folding in all different directions like a zig-zag pattern

      @Nat Lindeman . Rawlings removes gloves all the time from their website when stock runs out. When stock comes back they will be added again. If you go to JustBallGloves im sure you can find one. If not you can customise them with ease
