I am extremely impressed by the REV1X. I hated the outfield model so this was a surprise. If you like a soft flare with rolled/ straight fingers this is the glove for you. But of course it's not perfect so stay tuned for its flaws.

Watching and thinking through your video, I think I’ve come to the conclusion that the Rev1x makes a great infield glove because it stays open when lines drives head your way, and makes transfers quick and easy. Where in outfield the ball isn’t a direct line drive, it’s dropping into the glove and you want to trap it completely, so an open glove isn’t as desired.
As I do play highschool baseball, and am soon going to start a job that could potentially rake in for me about $230 a week, I needed this since I plan on making only one purchase, and was deciding between HOH and Rev1X.
Love the vids! In the future, I would love to see a break-down video on pitcher’s gloves and the best way to break them in.

bad pitcher here: my personal opinion would be to try to break it in as close to "thumb to fourth finger/ pinky" as you can. it seems like its easier to catch balls with it like that when you have something like a two-piece web

I should have pulled the trigger on the 2021 Rev1x GOTM when they had one at the DBats in town. It was a 11.75” and it was so comfortable. It was $379. But it was soo one of a kind too. My loss. I share your sentiments on the outfield glove. Leather all day.

I bought my first ever HoH and it’s by far the best glove i ever had even better than wilson
I have both of these exact gloves and I feel the don Morton hoh broke in too deep and the ball tends to shoot out the web if I flick my wrist

The biggest concern I have with the Rev1.x over time is the elastic band eventually deteriorating. I just don't think it will ever hold up like laces do and once that break, it'll just be a nightmare to use.
I’m on the same page as you my guy. When laces bust you can always fix em, you can exactly fix broke elastic bands

Just picked up the revFL12-2xb today for my son, based on your reviews. He was hesitant, until he played catch with it. Now he's pretty excited about it. Question for you - I got him the gray turquoise/magenta/sky blue colorway with the black palm, 11.5". In all the ads and videos it has a 12 for the palm stamp, but the one he got actually has a "Lindor FL" logo on the palm, not the big 12. I don't see that version in any online images. Is it somehow an old version? Or did they change the palm stamp to be more identifiable as a Lindor model?
What if you heat up the thumb and pinky to a really hot temperature and then try to flare the glove so then the thumb and pinky is more malleable

honestly, if i had enough money to choose which one i got, it would probably be HOH. I mean, I like my 44, but something about HOH is just better to me.
REV1X isnt bad, but it shouldnt be as expensive as a PP. real leather is still better

Had a question playing 3B for my slow pitch softball team. What size glove should I get? Was looking into the Rawlings hoh 3039 which is 12.75. Is that a good size or should I go smaller? Thanks and great video once again!!

You just gotta beat the thing bro! I use a mallet until it’s ready for catch/ ground balls then you just gotta use it as much as you can

Can you expound on why the Rev1x would not be a good outfield glove? I get your points on why the infield version is desirable but I'm not clear 'why' the model doesn't work in 12.75 in the outfield. I believe your main objection is the lack of forming the pinky and thumb. Is that the only reason? I'm interested in you opinion and love your videos!

I’ve gotten two from them, both misses. I have about 12 gloves from HOH to a2000, and they don’t even make it on my display with my rain gloves.
I got the Japan Select. Nothing wrong with it and I'm loving the way it's finally breaking in. Probably depends on the model you want. I know that the Japan Select and EX10 are good if they're models you're interested in. Very reasonable price too. If you have more cash and like certain known models get either a Wilson or Rawlings custom. I'm unable to from Europe and the prices would be extraordinary.

If you are hard on gloves by all mean get the superskin and the synthetic material. If you are not I would just suggest get it all leather. Isn't like you need 1 part of the glove to last longer than the other. I like the fact leather needs some attention and it shows a bit of discipline for the game.

Do you break in the Rawlings Rev1X any different with the mallet than you would a Heart of the Hide due to the thumb and pinky inserts to make sure you don't crack them?

Do you prefer the horween or standard hoh steerhide?
The Horween is nicer leather, but only comes in tan and black, while the sterrhide is still incredible and comes in a ton of colors, just don't get an R2G it may seem more appealing to get a quicker break in, but trust me it is not worth it the leather quality is a lot worse
