- Take a look inside the Washington D.C. Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Learn more about how each person is truly a son or daughter of God, how families can live together forever, and how we all can be united with Jesus Christ. The tour is hosted by Elder and Sister Stevenson and Elder and Sister Renlund.
For members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (sometimes referred to as Latter-day Saints), the temple is the most sacred place of worship on earth-it is the house of the Lord. It is a place set apart from the rest of the world where members seek to draw closer to God.
Temples are different than the thousands of Church meetinghouses located around the world. Meetinghouses are where Sunday worship services, youth gatherings, service projects, and other community events take place. All are welcome to join in these activities. Temples have a more specific purpose. They are places specially set apart for sacred service and ceremonies. They are designated by the Lord and dedicated to His purposes. Temples are the only places where some religious ceremonies, called ordinances, are authorized to be performed. These ordinances lift and inspire participants as they promise to follow the teachings and example of Jesus Christ.
A free public open house is held after each temple is built or renovated. During that time, people of all ages and faiths are welcome to enter and tour the temple. Once dedicated, entrance into the temple is reserved for members of the Church who have committed to live the gospel of Jesus Christ and are ready to participate in sacred ordinances.

I’m a little late I fell away from the lord for months due to pornography. I was in the hospital and felt the prompting of the Lord to go back to church at my pace. I’m still recovering from my surgeries and my infection from my colon to my brain I plan to go every Sunday to eventually get my endowments and to be sealed to my parents. I truly love this church so much. I testify that it is the true church I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ amen.
This isn't it brother, find you a good baptist church where they preach right from the accurate word of God
In Jesus name amen. I pray for everyone to see the light of Jesus. To follow their holy spirit. Our spirit will never lie to us. No one believed other that Moses and Jesus was called evil. A liar and a demon. Heavenly Father will tell you the truth if you ask. These temples are Jesus home on earth. The closest we will feel to our Heavenly Father on this earth.

I lost my membership in October.... I'm working on my return journey, too. I KNOW this church is His church, and even though I wasn't ready to live His commandments, no one can take away my testimony of its truth while I make my way back! I'm proud of you (and of myself for not giving up)! ❤
My husband and I were sealed in the Washington Temple. I lost him quite recently, and it is comforting to know that we will be together in the next life.

Because of this event, I was able to bring the woman I love to the temple. While not yet rededicated, I will be forever grateful for the invitation, the event, and the spirit of this place.
My son just baptised his wife of 14 years. Going to the Open House sets the pace that brings that Harvest. Keep faithfully happy. God sees us and lovingly gives our lovely hearts desires

I've recently had the opportunity to serve not once but twice as an usher in the d.c. temple. The open house has been an incredible spiritual experience so far, I highly recommend going if possible, especially if you live nearby. I can hardly wait for my next service day!

I went to the Washington DC Temple the year after it opened, to receive my Endowments prior to my mission in 1975. It was my first experience in a temple. Everyone was so helpful and kind, and I had a wonderful experience. I have attended other temples, but this one holds a special place in my heart.

Thank You. I am 84 years of age and in 1973 I was sealed to my mother and father in this Washington D.C. Temple. My wife and I were sealed in 1971 in the Salt Lake City Temple. My wife and I are married 65 years and I tell her this daily in the nursing home, she has last stages of Alzheimer's disease. We will be together forever, I know it and thank God daily for this great blessing.

I happened to tune in an English speaking station , it was the United Nations taking a vote to make Israel a nation. Wow I heard a miracle; Israel had to be restored before the 2nd coming, now what about the Restitution of all things Acts 3:19-21 and Elijah had to come Malachi 4:5-6 to Turn the Hearts to the Fathers to the Children (Read it). Elijah did come and conferred his keys for Temple work. Families can be together Forever; this is the work we do in the Temples through the world. I was married to my wife by a Baptist minister in 1957 till death do we part and I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in 1970 and later my wife was Sealed to me for Eternity then our children was sealed to my wife and I by Sealing Power of the Priesthood of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ restored His Church and the Priesthood in the 1820.
Jesus Christ has prepared a way for all to hear and accept Him through all generations. When you die, you do not die, only the mortal body dies, you are an eternal spirit son of God and this life is a test and gives you the opportunity to repent and through Jesus Christ to return to Heavenly Father. This is why life is so short. You can learn the full plan of Heavenly Father for you and your family by contacting the Missionaries of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. You will be glad you did. I am a former Baptist minister and my father also a Baptist minister, we both along with our families joined this Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 52 years ago. I hope you will follow through with this message. You will be glad you did. The devil will try to stop you with lies and obstacles but you can win if you study the Book of Mormon and follow the Missionaries' instruction. God Bless You.

ear my testimony to the power of the endowments upon a worthy priesthood holder. Since 2 days I received the ordinance in the temple, on my way home from a certain country, I felt some beautiful and holy thing fall and come upon me. It has never left me ever since. It has brought peace, calmness, assurance, light, beauty, glory, purity, strength etc. Its difficult to put into words, but the anointing works and is amazing. My testimony that God and Jesus Christ live and His Church is true was strengthened. Holy things and ordinances are done in that house

The Temple is truly the house of the Lord, the peace I feel there is out of this world.I still remember the feeling I had when I was sealed to my husband and then two children, been blessed with four more after then🥰 I love the Temples of the Lord and try to worship there wherever I travel to that has a Temple. My best places on the earth are the Temples of our Lord. The church is true.
Jesus says he is the way , THE TRUTH, and the life.
He does not say that the church is true....
Remember in the Bible where we are warned that even Satan can appear as an angel of light. We can not trust our feelings, the bibles tells us our hearts are deceictfully wicked. The Bible also says those who are born again are the temples of God and he is to be worshiped in spirit and in truth. Not in a temple. Jesus also tells is there will be no marriage in the reassurection. Matthew 22:30
I pray you stop trusting in man and trust in Christ alone ! Please study your Bible more and I pray you receive the gift of discernment.

Respectfully I have a question and that question is, where in the Bible does it speak of Sealing with your Spouse, especially where someone mentioned, (which is biblical,) in a marriage that says until death we part... My Bible KJV version says that after death, when Christ returns that there will be no more marriage nor giving in marriage... We will then be Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus our Lord and savior!!!

I like that the Apostles and their wives took turns speaking in the temple. It is probably the first time we see the women talking about the temple, since in the past it was always the male Church leaders discussing the holy houses. Please continue to do that in the future temple videos, since the temples are really for the families, after all!

What a wonderful blessing to be able to attend the temple. Living in Massachusetts before the Boston Temple many of the members of my ward would go to the Washington DC temple what commitment to travel 10 hours by bus .I'm so grateful to be a ordinance worker in the Boston Temple I feel it's the most sacred calling in the Church my sealing to my wife was the most spiritual experience I have had since I joined the church. I invite all to prepare and receive all the sacred ordinances in the house of the lord wherever you might live!
The first time I was in the Washingon Temple was in 1983. This place holds a special place in my heart. Glad to see the renovations finally completed and ready to operate again for those on both sides of the veil.

I've been to that Temple. It was a very nice temple at the time. It likely still is. It is quite the landmark in the region, too.

That was the first temple I ever went to, when I was 12.
This temple will forever be so very special to me. They seem to have begun to be somewhat more transparent about the ceremonies of the temple as well.

I lost my mom in August after a long battle with brain cancer. One of the things she was known for was her devoted faith and spirit. She got so much joy each time she went to the temple and was honored to be a temple worker for two years. My dad who is not a member, always supported her and her faith. My sister and I were honored to dress her when she passed. Since I have not received my endowments, my dear friend and relief society President helped. It was one of the most spiritual and sacred experiences I have ever had. I promised her for years no matter where I was in my spiritual journey, I would be honored to dress her. Im grateful I did. She always said the things she was most thankful for were my dad, their children, and her endowments. She had a beautiful blessing right before she passed and I know she is sharing her love and faith beyond the veil. God be with you till we meet again Mama
I sat in celestial room, and asked god for forgiveness. The second I asked, I was hit with goosebumps and wanted to cry. I know the lord is real, and I know that he loves me. I hope one day, to be with him once again.
Be free and learn the knowledge of the land and were we came and where we live
