    “But it’s a Tudor so who really cares what I think.” You’ve nailed it somehow. I do. Many microbrands owners would to. I love Tudor, but like Rolex, they don’t listen to their customers. They have the Crown, the Shield and the waiting lists. And many of their customers just want that. So they don’t bother. Great review and as always, amazing photography.

      Thanks G, you're always very kind. I have a love hate relationship with present day Tudor. I love them because my Tudor Black Bay has been the most amazing watch I've owned, and has been working flawlessly for 6 years, even though I put it through some very very rough use. But I dislike their stance on the GMT's date issue and find that very unprofessional. The waiting lists and associated drama I'm not so disturbed by, since there's similar tactics being played at all levels of the watch industry from $200 micros, to $50,000 haute horology pieces. It's a direct result of how gullible and sheep minded we are as humans.

    Had no idea this existed either; a very handsome piece.

      I discovered this model about a week ago and took one home a few days ago. I got the black dial on bracelet in 41mm. Exactly what I was looking for: simple, classy, yet elegant. A perfect every day watch.

    The burgundy dial is gorgeous.

    @Beans And Bezels Hello there, please I need a favour regarding your experience with the watch;
    On camera , certain watches look odd and I hope this is one of them. The lugs seems to short and non existent, making the middle of the watch seem heavy. Please let me know if this is just the camera or it shows up as such in the metal

    I have the 38mm in black dial on bracelet. On pictures it looks like a Japanese watch but in reality the quality, look and feel is superb!

    Great review and great shots of the watch. I always like to see the watch in certain every day usage situations. Maybe you can add that in the future. However, overall great. You made me buy one. I am adding it to my collection. A Tudor Black Bay S&G is already waiting there :)

      Thanks for watching, and also for the suggestion. I will try to include some more "real life" footage in my reviews.

    I want to love these watches, but there is something I can’t quite place about them. They feel a little out of proportion. Perhaps the markers are too small, versus the dial, or something with the bezel. They just feel disproportionate when compared with the Tudor Prince date/ day or even the Rolex date just

    Great watch, I just ordered the steel bracelet version, can't wait to get it, how big is your wrist to get a roughly idea of the fit

    I have a 41mm with the blue dial and added a
    Cyclops for the date. Great watch solid
    Band. 👍🏻

      Hi, may I ask how you added a cyclops? I'd be interested in adding one to mine as well. I have a 41mm silver dial (like in the video, but on a bracelet).

    Hi...are you sure the lug width is 20mm as mentioned in your article?

    • @BeansAndBezels
      @BeansAndBezels  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't have this watch anymore so I cannot verify these dimensions again. But looking at my notes from this review, I believe it is 20mm.

    So u think it suits 7in wrest . Is it not too big for a dress watch. Is it better than the Tudor 1926??

    • @BeansAndBezels
      @BeansAndBezels  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not at all, I think it would look good on a 7" wrist. I haven't checked out a 1926 unfortunately.

  • @patrickr6297
    @patrickr6297 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    41mm with a slight Tudor slab-looking case seems too big for a dress watch? I’d rather spend a little more for a better-fitting Grand Seiko

    • @BeansAndBezels
      @BeansAndBezels  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching! That's fair enough, but in this particular instance, my friend and the original owner paid significantly less than retail, and quite a ways off from a nice Grand Seiko. I really like the sporty case design for dress watches myself, but I can see how it would turn people off.

    • @kojiattwood
      @kojiattwood 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Way too big, imo, but that seems to be the trend even with dress watches today?

    • @BeansAndBezels
      @BeansAndBezels  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@kojiattwood I'm starting to believe that the trend is moving towards smaller watches of late, which is great for my since I have skinny wrists. To be fair, this watch is offered in a million different sizes, all the way down to 28mm I think.

    • @kojiattwood
      @kojiattwood 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BeansAndBezels Happy to hear the trend is moving towards that, it's a major reason why I almost always go with vintage watches.

    Like it. Add a rehaut to make the dial smaller and I’d be in...at 39-40mm. 😉

    • @BeansAndBezels
      @BeansAndBezels  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for watching. A rehaut would be an interesting addition. I believe they have smaller sizes already though, all the way down to 28mm!

    • @chrishackett3125
      @chrishackett3125 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BeansAndBezels that is correct. Quite a few sizes (146 variants of this watch, I think) with 41mm being the largest.

  • @luckygoldpanda
    @luckygoldpanda 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    It’s got a lot going for it. This dial and case are nice, but the date execution kills all of it. It’s an eyesore the way they’ve done it

    • @BeansAndBezels
      @BeansAndBezels  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree with you 100%. As someone else mentioned, this might've benefited from a cyclops window. But I'm against 3 o'clock date windows by default.

  • @cedarcanoe

    Does this surpass any Parnis datejust based watch?

    • @BeansAndBezels
      @BeansAndBezels  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If build quality and finishing are not considered, I don't think so, since those Parnis watches are in-fact copies of these designs. And as with most of their watches, good ones at that.

    • @BeansAndBezels
      @BeansAndBezels  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Absolutely. The date window here is also what I think will be most polarizing. I feel like it mostly takes away from the great dial, and adds nothing to it.

    Oversized and with no applied logo and cyclops makes for a rather empty and boring dial.
