Billy really kept it between the lines on that one. As solid a performance as that was, it’s hard to believe it didn’t even come close to showcasing just how talented of musicians these guys really are. Patiently awaiting Memphis.
I'm sure you already have, but just in case you haven't, do a TH-cam search for Billy Strings. You will find tons of very recent live concert videos that will blow you away. Not only does he do a lot of his own songs but he also covers Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, & The Greatful Dead among others. You are going to enjoy the next few weeks immensely sir.
"Away From The Mire" is a song that should be counted in the top five of all time - along with Stairway, Free Bird, Hotel California, Bohemian Rhapsody, it IS that good. The version on Billy Strings | Live Vol. 1 is a great place to start!
He just had a baby too. This man deserves all the attention he gets. Came from a very dark background and overcame those obstacles to become one of the best musicians around. Been to 5 of his shows and they're an incredible life altering experience every time. Im not exaggerating either. My next show will be in Tulsa in less than 2 weeks. EVERYONE GET TO ONE OF HIS SHOWS🎉
@@mphofstrand2340 I stand by my statement. It wasn't until her water broke that he even left Buena Vista and, by the God's, SHE had the baby. He did not carry or deliver THEIR son. Basically biology, dude.
@rubystarr7036 We are all "biology dudes." I've never known a man that carried or delivered a baby. As for the timing; did you hear mom complaining? Was it otherwise any of your business?
They all look so handsome. I'll have to admit that a little tear came to eye. They've been working so hard and it's finally coming to fruition, although I didn't want us to have to share him 💕 😆
What Billy is doing right now is special. Glad to see the rest of the world catching up! History will show he is one of those once in a generation artists whose impact never fades.
Billy been doing this for so many years. I remember finding out about him about 15 years ago. Glad he's getting the attention and praise he deserves, finally.
Billy and band are absolute gunslingers but they really held back on this one. It was solid enough and probably a good choice for a mass audience, but they are more than capable of pickin the hell out of those instruments. There is no hotter band on the road today, anywhere.
I'm at 8 too, with some memorable ones......Trey at the Rooftop, night 4 at the Cap, Wizard of Oz in Asheville, Jake Shimabukuro at Wilkes Barre. I want to do Asheville in February.
We love Billy and the Boys in NC. Billy is truly a gifted guitarist. This is just a small sampling of his skills. Check out his other works/concerts if u want to be totally left in awe.
Billy and his band are the best I’ve heard in years. It’s like listening to Grateful Dead or Zeppelin for the first time again. It’s a different type than those but it gives me those same feelings. I’ll follow the band as long as they play.
Yeah when I explain Billy's music to someone who's never heard them before I tell them Billy's band is like the Pink Floyd of bluegrass lol. These guys are a once in a generation level of talent for sure.
Saw Billy at Wheatland Music Festival 2012 I believe. He was jamming in the camps, and saw his set the next morning in the small tent. I KNEW he was going to be a big household name after watching him play. Now here he is on Jimmy Fallon. Grammy nominated and all. He is the headliner.
@@charlesking5328absolutely true but I do love that he covers Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin & The Greatfull Dead among others. I love the way he melds styles & stretches boundrys.
This is a really reserved performance. This is Billy at level 3 out of 10. Cable television format cant accomodate what he and his band is capable of at level 10.
I think it’s an incredible performance from a tight and perfectly technical standpoint. There is a lot of intricacies that are performed flawlessly from all 5. I have never seen him live in person, but there is a whole lot of live performances on TH-cam, and this is one of the most perfect and in sync. Pretty much all of them are though.
@ yeah, I saw them during summer in Chicago 2 nights in a row, and damn, the way they can play all different songs and be on fire two nights in a row is just master level musicianship.
Billy rules and now y’all know….one of the best live performers of this era you will ever see ..his concerts are top notch and if he doesn’t win a Grammy for this outstanding album I will eat my hat
If he doesn't win, he will humbly take his hat off to the victor. When Bela won, all Billy could say was how much of an honour it was to be on the album.
His guitar licks are so smooth and clean af. I’m glad I discovered him last year. All guitars are him. He can jam let alone on an acoustic!! He’s different
I've never seen a creme cashmere cable knit sweater in a bluegrass ensemble before, but im just glad that a new generation is keeping this type of music alive! 🔥👌
I saw a young pop star on TV singing about her pony dressed exactly like a circus clown. I don’t get it. That thrift store cable knit sweater is way cooler.
Beautiful performance to the whole band! I am so happy and proud of them! To watch them grow over the last 4 years has been so exciting! Thankful for this music bringing love and joy into so many lives. That’s how you do it boys!
Saw him headline Buckeye Country Music Fest in Columbus. We took our then 12 year old son who plays acoustic guitar. I appreciate all music but wouldn't say Blue Grass would be my go to. After seeing them live I was convinced of his talent. Will be in Kentucky in June to see him again.
Billy Strings is a gem i’ve been fine for about eight years telling people about continuously and gifted enough to have seen him in the 6 Row Center. And several other times. Must see must see you ain’t seen nothing yet till you see him live❤
Did you see him on a PBS show that used to be on called Bluegrass Underground where the artists play in a cave? That's the first time I ever saw him & their set was amazing.
I love that he grew up on Doc Watson, and then took it to a whole new level. I have seen him twice, and would have been 3 times if not for a closed border during COVID . His live shows are 🔥 🔥
Only Billy could make me watch Fallon.
My thoughts exactly!
Billy really kept it between the lines on that one. As solid a performance as that was, it’s hard to believe it didn’t even come close to showcasing just how talented of musicians these guys really are. Patiently awaiting Memphis.
Yo agreed fucking weird hearing them like that but we love them
They served the song. That's what talented musicians do. They don't jerk off all over every single song.
Time constraints, but yeah, giving the boys all a chance at a break would have shown folks how sick they all are. ❤
I figured there would be a solo somewhere on the show. But that’s Billy - gotta keep em guessing
I was hoping for a 20 minute tinfoil
Just heard him for the first time tonight on Jimmy Fallon; magnificent!!!
Ordering this CD and vinyl LP right now.
