Great video bro. I appreciate your honesty and openness about your nervousness when doing this project and I learned a ton from this video. Most other videos don't go into much detail. Thank you. Liked and subscribed!!
Scottie, thanks so much for watching man. I'm so glad you enjoyed the video and I really appreciate your kind words, I hope to continue improving and bringing you good content. Thanks again for subscribing.
I hate electrical and this is the first video I found that actually showed me how to do this . I also bought the Harley harness and am still trying to figure out how to do it because there are other accessories I want to hook up besides the sound bar. But thank you great job!
Bro I couldn’t find anywhere that explained that T-tap thing and I no nothing about electrical so I highly appreciate this video.. I just need to figure out what wire I need to tap into on my Yamaha Bolt. Again thanks the video and explanation.
@@Six5Rider I wish I could figure out which wire is the accessory wire I need to connect to… I’ve been looking for days now and I’ve found nothing that covers the bolt..🤷🏽♂️

Man, this video saved me so much time. I got a 2019 Lowrider and bought the same sound bar. Wasn't sure which wire to tap into. I didn't have a blue wire. Mine are purple. Just had to trace it back and tap into it. Great video!
Good Job considering that you said you had no experience with wiring . One quick tip go to an Auto Parts Chain Store and buy a decent Test Light for $ 15- 20.00 bucks it will come in handy when checking for live wires before making your connection or replacing a bulb or a bunch of other things . Good Video Thanks !
Been looking everywhere for a video to install this and wire tap properly, I have a 2019 lowrider so the layout is basically the same. Hope it goes well for me tomorrow lol thanks very much for this vid, eased the stress a bit
I had 1 on my Road King that sounded OK but didn't last 2 years, bought a replacement & another for my Dyna Super Glide around Christmas but I bought the Amazon warranty. There's a few other people that had them fail in a few years so next time I'll try a Plex
Nice video, very good explanation and nice work. Placing screws in a tight (Battery terminals) space is frustrating. Suggestion for the future, get a Screw Holding Screwdriver in phillips and flat head because it makes it a lot easier. It helps with patience, lol.
YO!!!!!! You are a mother fucking life saver, you ain't lying, all these videos on TH-cam showing how to install a Kuryakyn Sound bar, NOT ONE OF THESE VIDEOS EXPLAIN WHAT THE HELL TO DO WITH THAT ORANGE WIRE!!!! I've been looking at my GROM battery for days trying t figure out WTF to do, and what's funny is the orange wire is probably the most complicated of the install because everybody knows how to connect the battery + and -, and all the videos show that, but they just literally all skip the orange wire details, I have been super frustrated, I thought I was the one missing something, but thank you for explaining and showing this!!!! DAMN happy I saw this, I have been going NUTS!!!!!!!
Good Job! Buying one this month. Question, after one year how has it worked? sound quality, tap to rear lights - has the tap come loose? How does it perform when it rains or when you wash the bike?
Thanks for watching, I had it about 2 years on the bike and it has survived all types of weather and worked with no issues. The tap has not gotten loose, the audio quality was as good as the day I got it. I no longer own the bike which is why I’m speaking in the past-tense lol Thanks for watching
So the orange wire / ACC wire is a positive wire correct so you can wire it directly to the battery with an on and off switch for the orange wire to the positive instead of messing with your wiring harness
Did u have any issue with your speakers Bluetooth not staying connected? My speaker turns on and works but if I turn the bike off and back on it lights up but not as bright as it should and won’t sync to my phone or power off or on just lights up. Could it be a ground issue? Or a bad speaker?
Thank you! I tried that way and the speaker didn’t turn on. After serval attempts I ended up cutting the running light blue cable. Ordering the adapter instead and now I have to figure how to solder the wire back together lol not fun day.
Questions my bike is different but should I tap my wire from the bike to the connector or tap into tail light to the connector will it work the same like incase I don't need radio an take it off an just replace my tail light with the one that I tap into to one that is New with no cuts.
Can the Road Thunder be easily removed so it won't be stolen? Take the soundbar inside while the bike is parked and just the brackets remain on the handlebars?
I think unfortunately that’s a risk .. if someone is really dedicated to stealing something they will find a way to do it. However, it’s not just the brackets, they will also need to get under the seat to remove the wiring - so they’ll likely end up ruining the speakers and maybe the bike if they really want to steal it
So I have a 2021 streetbob. Just purchased same speaker. I can’t find the wiring diagrams. I saw one commenter mention the ignition wire. Do you know if the 21 model streetbobs running light is also blue?
Check out the Harley Davidson Softail Street Bob group on Facebook, they have the service manual for a 2018 pinned in there and I believe it’s the same wiring nothing should be different.
I appologize, I don't have that info for your bike. I believe the Kuryakyn website has a minimum batter voltage that you can check to see if you bike can handle it. I would expect that it should be fine since it's most likely a 12v battery, but don't quote me on it. Good luck!
I did not, I owned the bike for another 2 years after posting that video, and did not have any issues. To be fully transparent, I did have to replace my battery about 6 months ago before getting rid of the bike but I think it was due for a change. I don't think it had anything to do with the wire tap. Thanks for watching.
I think you can check the wiring diagram for your specific bike. Im pretty sure it's the same thing, but it might be a different wire that you have to tap into. Good Luck
When I did this the speaker only cuts on when the turn signals are being used. Happen to know why ? Also my turn signals aren’t apart of the brake light
Is it okay to install this and not put the wires inside the frame and just put wires under tank tucked up? I’m fixing to install tomorrow and don’t want to take tank off my harley
Hey Marcus, thanks for watching. I don’t see why not, just make sure it’s tucked in real tight … last thing you want is for the wires to start swinging all over the place as you’re riding 60mph down the highway. Good luck with the install.
Honestly, for the price I like it a lot. It could stand to be a little louder but if you download one of those volume booster apps you’re golden. Definitely quieter than the PlexAudio, but also roughly $600 price difference.I think it’s perfect for the money. I’ll be releasing a thoughts and review video on it shortly. Stay tuned and thanks for watching 🙏🏼
Hey Ali, it's likely some settings on your phone that's causing that. I know when I do an IG story it doesnt cut off, but when I do a regular iPhone video, it does.
With my non-existent knowledge in electrical components, I kinda got lost at "solder" LOL but yeah I think the Harley harness will likely make it easier so you don't have to mess around with the bike's original electrical system. I mentioned in the video that it was also an option. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Hey there, thanks for watching. Yeah this was supposed to be just an install video. I’ll be releasing a long term review with a sound clip here in a couple of weeks now that I’ve had it for a few months. Stay tuned for that.
