- After a couple stressful days weathering a hurricane at anchor, we take the next few days to have a little fun. Brooke hops onboard Delos and Kazza and Sierra join One Life as they swap spots for a sail. With our buddy boat trio (Calico Skies, Delos and One Life) soon parting ways, we decide to play a few games on the beach to celebrate our season together in the Sea of Cortez also known as Adult Summer Camp. Our time ends scuba diving with sea lions, wow 2022 has been good to us!

What a fantastic episode! I don't know who came up with the crew swap idea but what an amazing idea it is. You never know when one of you's might be asked to fill in for each other like in the case where Kazza needed medical attention. Grace went help with nuggs but knowing the systems one anothers boats is just plain Smart!! Obviously the games were enjoyed by us so much we were hoping to see you guys break the three way tie by having a drinking contest or a cook off maybe next season! To tell the truth, at first I thought you were typical and had a hard time with your American superficiality, but as you sail longer and further away, you change into people with a deep sense of life with more love. I respect you, and the maximum respect for me is to wish, to spend breakfast with you on a sunny beach in an unknown country. peace&love

Mahi tip forGary. Keep a #7 hook with 4 ‘ leader handy and hook mahi in jaw and put leader around tail after bowing body so fish can no longer fail around until you fillet. Little Guatemala trick. Great channel !

Several months ago, my very over-worked and corporately burnt out wife tells me she doesn't know how much longer she can do it and asks if we can sell everything, buy a boat and sail away. Myself having spent my entire childhood and young adult life on sailboats was agreeable to that so we do what most people do when they get into something; start watching TH-cam on the subject. Hence we found the Sailing One Life channel. It's been very inspiring to see what you two are doing and gives us great confidence to do it ourselves.

Great episode guys. That main sail is so different, looks like a real workout. The Brooke and Kazza swap was pretty spicy. I'm probably one of only a few people that have been watching your channel longer than Delos, but really love the buddy boat connection with the 3 of you.

Hope you had fun with the sea lions. Amazing creatures. They saved my wife's dive trip on a live aboard in the Galapagos. She had a brand new fin come off on our first dive. The sea lions saw this bright pink thing sinking, grabbed it and came to show us their new treasure, allowing us to recover it.

What a great video that one was! Drinking “Mad Dog 2020” usually ensures a good time for everyone, especially after a few shots! Everyone looks like they had a good time and Brook was hilarious on Delos when she realized everything wasn’t so physically challenging….Or Kaza putting ALL her weight into getting that sail up with or without the wench. ❤

All 3 are being hauled out, is there a chance you'll all splash around the same time and join up again? Do you have a plan for 2023, I know Delos has talked about possibly making a Pacific crossing... I also know they mentioned Brian's brother Brady and Alex meeting up with them in the Sea of Cortez before that happens.. I haven't heard yet what Calico Skies are planning, if they'll continue buddy boating with Delos or not... You are all worth the watch on your own, but seeing you all experience things together is like the cherry on the top... Whatever happens, I'll be here to watch it unfold... Hey Bruce! There is a chance we do some more sailing together. It all depends on how long our projects take and when we are able to re-splash (aiming for end of January). Tentatively we are planning on a South Pacific crossing this spring. 🤞⛵

Hope the haul out goes as planned, guess Gary will have to figure out in mast furling as that looks like a dream. Use to sail with a wheel chair sailor that had in mast, made sense for him lake sailing. Yet off shore would be nice for anyone.

What a great episode! It's the friends you share a piece of your life with that you truly remember as "best" friends. Even though in some cases you may not see them again for months, years, or ever, as that is the way it is for sailors, the memory of the good times with good friends, will always warm your heart and provide "sea stories" to share with others :) P.S. Have you heard from your "other" crew, KK and Jill-Ena?
You are absolutely right about that! Friends for life! We touch base with KK and Jill-Ena often. They are both doing great, working and saving money for their next travels!

Hey Ed! That is a great question. Each place has its positives and negatives. So far, I prefer the Caribbean. For one the Caribbean is much more sailing friendly, both because of the wind and also facility wise such as easy access to dinghy docks and trash removal. I also feel like the locals in the Caribbean are much more eager and open to having interactions with sailors vs Baja. Hope you are doing great! Cheers, Ed!

I was wondering how safe is it two sail to mexico and other places
Hey Kevin! We feel pretty safe in most places. Like anywhere there are sketchy areas but we tend to trust our gut and just leave if we are feeling uncomfortable or something doesn't seem right. In most cases we feel incredibly welcomed and comfortable.
