    This type of traveling with fishing/traveling/camping is why I bought an Escapade Backcountry camper. Its easily towable at 1500lbs, comes with a roof rack and kayak tie down points with a queen bed and a/c. Makes doing this fun and the family loves to join in.

    Hey Nick, your first spot is called La Bahia Grande on Highway 48. This is where I came up with my TH-cam channel name- Anglers 48... It is now illegal to fish there. This place used to be an open field so one year because of all the sand that was accumulating on the highway they made a man-made channel and filled the field. This place has massive reds and trout. My biggest trout was 33" on a seven inch mullet.

    Nick, all of these fish down here fight like a freight train. Next time you plan on coming down, hit me up. I'll put you on some monster specks, red, flounder, and snook. I've got lots of buds who frequent the Lower Laguna Madre who could help you out as well. Congrats on your monster snook! Thanks for an awesome video. Wish I would've known you were down, I would've shown you around to better spots. Peace.

    That’s where I got hooked with fishing; my first snook was 28” and put up one hell of a fight… got it using a silver spoon underneath that low hanging bridge… since then I’ve caught many snook here in south Texas and is my favorite fish to catch… they are a great fighting fish 🎣

  • @aaronhiggs
    @aaronhiggs 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Nice snook! That’s a solid snook here in Tampa , but a monster in Texas. If you had fun with that , you need to hit up Tampa Bay and catch a 40 incher!

    Some Anglers fish behind the Padre Island conversation center. I have never fished there before. There is a spot across from HEB in Port Isabel. There are dead end roads there that lead to the Bay. Good luck tomorrow.

    Rx, I use ultra light tackle for reds,Snook and trout all the time with 15lb braid and 30in shock leader with an fg knot. BTW 30+ Snook are very common and even larger in Brownsville Ship Channel. Im glad you had some fun catching that Snook with light tackle. I have a Shimano Calcutta CQ 50DC for sale in great condition if you know anyone interested.

My friend caught 54 in snook in south bay on a boat. I fished the isla Blanca jetty hard too. I wonder if u can get out to the port Mansfield jetty launching from Raymondville port Mansfield boat launch. U can catch tarpon there.
