Lol, these ones are just awful. I suspect decent ones would actually work well. If the light source was pointing up and one down rather than left and right then the beam pattern would have a chance at being right, and with decent LED components a chance of a decent light... These had neither.
Stupid Bloke Stupid Videos even then, I can’t imagine them doing much better in a reflector headlight housing. I’ve got projectors on my Volvo and I’ve got a halogen bulb out. I’m tempted by a pair of decent LED bulbs for it.
@@steveo3002 I took them back out because of the potential of them getting too hot, especially as the wiring on my headlights is already bodged up. They can make the headlight lenses yellow too, but other people on the bugclub group have told me they’ve used them with no issues. If I did a lot of night driving I’d probably splash out and get some night breakers.
Maybe you know by now but I've been looking at a lot of led H4 bulbs for my shockingly poor headlights, because they do dipped and main beam you need to get the ones that have the cups or some kind of blockers for the LEDs that do dipped beam, the cups/blockers direct most of the light to the top half of the reflector housing, and they have separate LEDs that are not blocked for main beam. I don't think they make them with LEDs in the top for dipped as far as I have seen, probably because some light does still need to reach the bottom half of the reflector housing so you can see road signs etc but without blinding people
@@StupidBlokeStupidVideos yh that's the stuff. I have to do something as I was causing a traffic jam the other day on an unlit 60mph road I didn't know over near Stafford having to drive at about 40.. tried some Halfords 200% brighter ones but not convinced compared to the projector HIDs I was used to so I think I need to try LED in these reflector headlights. @@Fromatic yea you can separate them and put the mounting plate in first then push the bulbs in. I didn’t know that at the time I made the vid though lol

Independently of the qualities and faults of the product itself. You're, unfortunately, justifying your channel name! Adjust the light beam, by rotating the actual bulb on the support! Rather basic and simple! Although the stupidity of destroying them, without learning, will never allow you to test them correctly. Honestly it's a ridiculously dumb approach! You spent the money, the time, didn't learn nothing and top it all with an opinion based on air & wind. LOL 😂
The bulbs don’t rotate. I know how a H4 main and dipped beam work, and shining light in all directions in the way these do will never produce a decent beam pattern. The light intensity isn’t focussed at all, and for the beam to work in reflector headlights the light has to be focused at the reflector. Even if they did rotate, no matter which way I rotated them there was no way there would ever work properly. H4 bulbs have two filaments. The dip has a little reflector next to it to aim the light and the other doesn’t. These just put light out in all directions on dip beam, then slightly brighter light out in all directions on main beam. Also the brightness of light out of them was piss poor.

Hands down the worst bulb choice on the market. Brilliant 😂
This is why people shouldn’t use LED bulbs without projectors. It’s the lumen equivalent of pissing in the wind 🤣

Is there a credible headlight bulb upgrade then?
Although not technically legal in these type of head lamps, these are very good.
