EDIT 2: I have been getting complaints about how I acted in this elevator, in particular, not hitting the phone. The main reason why I didn’t hit the phone is because this elevator is scenic, and someone saw me through the windows (you might catch a glimpse of him). Next time, regardless of what type of elevator I get stuck in, I will definitely hit the phone.
This video is NOT a joke! What you are going to see in this video is 100% REAL! For the main part of this video, feel free to skip to 1:05.
So here’s the story: I was simply starting a normal elevator video after arriving at Nintendo NY. It went up perfectly, with no problems at all. Then, an infant was about to enter the elevator when the dad notices right away. He then takes the infant away, and allows me to continue my journey back to the first floor.
As soon as the door closes, the elevator makes a small move on the way down. Then all of a sudden, it stops! It didn’t even clear the second floor yet!!! And so what do I do? First, I try to press the call buttons again. Then, I see if I am able to find a way out of the elevator (which obviously does not work). After trying to press all the buttons again, I had no choice but to ring the alarm. At least the infant’s dad was still there, but I was helpless until someone from Nintendo NY finally found me.
As soon as a I gave the person a call, I waited for at least one more minute. In the meantime, I continued to see what the problem was. I did notice that the elevator did cancel my call, though it should have done that while I was still on the second floor. As a result, I tried to get the elevator to work again multiple times, until I noticed that the indicator was turned off. Afterwards, the elevator restarted itself, and as soon as you know it, success! The elevator began to move again! But I did notice that the arrows were glitching out.
Upon reaching the bottom, I got off because of the huge freak show I received. And after I ended the video, the next few people to ride the elevator had NO PROBLEMS!!!
In case you are wondering, I am now the first person to get stuck in this elevator. No one law has gotten stuck in here before!! It also ran normally when I filmed the elevator for the first time, but that is currently besides the point! So therefore, in conclusion, I am the first to face an unfortunate event on this amazing elevator! Maybe next time I come back, it should be back to normal.

That's so weird how the elevator randomly stalled! I'm glad it reset within a couple minutes. Did an employee reset it in the machine room or did it fix itself?

The elevator on our apartment are a Mitsubishi one and the are pretty nice, but if the power cuts off, the elevator beeps for 10 secs in darkness and lands on the nearest floor and opens.The scariest part is its beeping .It sounds like a bomb is about to blast.(And I live in India so we have recent power cuts)

I understand dude. But this elevator is scenic and someone saw me. So I didn’t really have to press the phone. Trust me, if I was stuck in a non-scenic elevator, I would press the alarm and phone like a maniac.

I nearly got stuck on a Schindler, guessing the controller decided to reset itself.

It’s required in every elevator, whether glass or not.
I was screaming in the elevator when my dad left me I didn't come with him not just got left alone and then I got stuck in the elevator and I called for a passenger and they help me to get out of the elevator and then I'm so happy that I just got off the elevator

Didn’t have the right instinct at the time. Also this elevator is glass; someone was able to see me.
That is a schindler 400AE from 2012-2014 it was replaced to a schindler 5500 but now it is back to a schindler 400AE
This is hydraulic. 400A and 400AE are traction elevators.

It just randomly got stuck and yes I pressed the alarm (not phone). Someone reset the elevator for me.

Moral of the story: don’t use elevators in 2 story buildings, there’s a 2 story chick fil a near me and it makes me mad when people with no disabilities at all use the elevator save the elevator for who it was made for people with wheel chairs, rant aside I would be really scared if this happened

Fixtures are HT not MT
MT VR. MT and HT VR have the same appearance. It has an MT indicator so therefore it is an MT VR.
Most vandal resistant elevator fixtures look super similar. Schindler used these Adams survivor plus buttons in their vandal resistant elevators from the 90s-2010s, maybe still in some products today. The biggest difference between HT VR and MT VR is the indicator is smaller on HT, and the up-down lanterns are different. The HT has a lower pitched floor passing chime, as well as the “ding-dong” down chime.
HT and MT are easier to tell apart in the standard versions, though both are from what I like to call the “Square white button” era of elevator design. Otis Series 1, Dover/Thyssenkrupp Impulse, Schindler MT, and possibly Montgomery Vector all existed in a similar time frame, as well as generic versions like EPCO WN Signature/Adams Designer, and Innovation Decorator. I think of Otis series 1 as the OG though.
