    We drove it together on launch - briefly - but we've now had the second-gen Audi A7 around for a longer stay. Here's what we thought.

      This or the Kia Stinger?

    Tom, your videos are fantastic and the quality seems to improve with each and every new video you put out. Well done!

    Based on personal experience ive gone right off VW, Audi and Skoda products.The reliability just isnt there for me. Having said that, this is a nice looking vehicle. Another excellent video mate, your professionalism and honesty is appreciated. 👍

    I follow your channel and enjoy your video reviews...but can i make some suggestions ?
    Camera work needs to improve ie, lets see inside boot and also lets look at wheels etc...checkout fake exhaust grilles !
    Also what about panel fit and paint work...Cheers and keep them coming

    Yeah, I 100% agree on the rear Tom! I loved the older, chunkier taillights but I do really love the light bar on this newer gen! I think Audi has done a great job not having fake exhaust tips finally.... I still have nightmares about the new SQ5

    Great video mate you're a natural at reviewing and you'll make it far on here. Also great review on the Audi. For that much money I would pick a Genesis G70 or G80 or even a Kia Stinger even though it's a class below but way better value for money.

    the front is great, back end isn't nice, have had a 2016 a7 and loved it

    Great video Tom. Keep up the great work. Besides the Mazda 3 hatch are there any other small hatches width looking at up to $32k approx. Aussie dollars ? 🚗👍 Boot needs to be at least the size of the Mazda 3 so I believe the Corolla is not worth considering.

      Definitely the Golf, which has aged well. Check out the new Focus, too - and the Astra can be a screaming deal, but I’d watch out for catastrophic depreciation on that one!

    The creaking sound is a general Audi problem - I have had creaking sounds on my Audi B9, complained and was told that I should have done that in the first year of purchase.

    • @chasingcars
      @chasingcars  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ll have to keep an ear out for it. I’m driving an RS5 this week and so far no creaks.

    Beautiful car! I like the previous model better, though.
    I hope you’re right about this being a pre-production model. I can’t imagine how infuriating it would be to pay this much for a car and have to deal with creaks.

    • @chasingcars
      @chasingcars  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Two good looking cars - but there was something about that first-gen A7 that was just right! Yeah, it would be very frustrating trying to get a creaking problem solved, I imagine.

    No, I did not like the sat Nav. :(. Mate, can you please explain about the models of Audi before taking a tour and what are the standard and optional equipment? Thanks

    Just one thing, although it’s touted as a mild hybrid there is no electric boost to performance, the 48volt system is there to help efficiency only ie: to help with sailing mode, stop/start etc..
    I wasn’t a huge fan of the rear of the gen 1 car and I’m not that much more interested in the gen 2 hatch/taillights set up. I’ve always preferred the A6/A6 Avant or A8. That said I really like the S5/RS5 Sportback styling.

    • @chasingcars
      @chasingcars  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sarge, I looked into this further and you are exactly right. While it certainly feels like the 48v system is spinning up the turbo real quick (there is essentially no turbo lag in this car), that's just good old mechanical work. It's only the turbodiesels as yet where the 48v assists with the 'electric turbo'. Fascinating.
      I'm with you on the A6 Avant point. Hopefully the new-gen RS6 Avant is a looker - not sure I like where they are going with the new front ends, though, including the recently-unveiled A4 facelift.

    Hey Tom, what do you think of the A7 45TFSI?

  • @chele089
    @chele089 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Wait, you don't get vented seats in Australia? They are an option with the comfort seats in Germany.

    • @chasingcars
      @chasingcars  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      We don't get them here at this stage - but they'd be good in summer!

    The world luxurious car 2019; Audi A7
    As electric doors u don’t need to pull the handle so hard to open just finger click you’ll be right

    • @chasingcars
      @chasingcars  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You shouldn't really need a lesson in how to open a car door, though, should you? Other than those few electrical oddities, though, this is a nice vehicle.

    Hey tom , i want to ask a question that when will be volvo v60 arrive to sydney?

    • @chasingcars

      Late this year I believe.

  • @cyrilmatthew2995

    tom I have one question regarding the drivetrain layout. Is this car's engine mounted transversely or longitudinally? it's hard to judge for the video... I know vw Audi's and Volvo's tend to push the engine forward ahead of the front axle.... no idea as to how was works here ... is this a RWD or a FWD car?

    • @chasingcars
      @chasingcars  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Cyril. It’s longitudinal (and sits on the VW Group’s modular longitudinal platform MLB). It’s AWD with torque sent to all four wheels all the time in varying ratios.

    • @cyrilmatthew2995
      @cyrilmatthew2995 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chasingcars ok.... Most reviewers still mentions the q 7, a7 and most audis as FWD vehicles eventhough the engine is longitudinal

    • @chasingcars
      @chasingcars  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The reason why, I think, is because they drive like they are front-biased a lot of the time (even though they technically can send more torque to the rear axle).

    Climate control should have good old knobs. Touchscreens are so unnecessary...

    • @chasingcars
      @chasingcars  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed Ben. It’s interesting seeing some brands move back to knobs for some primary controls, including Honda with the volume knob situation.
