- In this EPF Episode, my exploration of the Puget Sounds at the Edmonds Fishing Pier begins on TH-cam!!! For my second day in the PNW, I try to find some rocky structure around the area, in hopes of catching some Lifers from the deep waters of the pier.

😎...The Salish Sea is actually home to more than 170 different species of birds, as well as more than 250 different species of fish!!! The biodiversity in that area is truly phenomenal. For that reason, the place attracts all different sorts of Lifelisters. The potential for "new species" in that region is certainly high!
😎...The fishing was so slow that day on the Pier that I decided to sacrifice some of my fishing time and take a three hours break in the middle of the afternoon to go to the local Supermarket to get some "additional bait." You will see the results of this decision in the next TH-cam video!

I went to a pier here in New Jersey and caught 2 flounder and lost 3. I’m new to saltwater fishing so I wasn’t prepared but I still landed 2. It was crazy because there were a ton of shad, I mean hundreds of thousands. Caught some bluefish feeding on them too. So many shad I would snag a couple and use them as bait which was the best tactic. Good luck Leo, your my inspiration to go fish new places and look for new species

Used to live near lake Sammamish. Such good fishing there. So much to catch. Smallmouth, largemouth, cutthroat, perch, sunfish, bluegills,pumpkin seed etc. You would love it.

that was the dock i grew up on , thank you it looked good much change but good . i am very glad i sent you the book i did i had hopes of you fishing in this place there are many small docks and beaches but you picked a nice place to start . I wish you luck may you have great days listing the wonders of the Puget Sound I hope you go out on a low tide and micro the tide pools and under dock places . you made me very happy i wish you blessed long life and longer lists !

I was there 2 years ago, it was cold, but it’s my environment , compare to just walking around the market …. Of don’t forget to check out the pike’s place market .

Damn son, I can't believe I missed the opportunity to meet the legendary Leo Sheng. I watch all your videos and hoped one day I'd get to run into you but I never thought I would have the chance. I grew up in Edmonds and still live in the Seattle area, I would have made a special trip down to the pier just to say "What's up TH-cam! Leo Sheng's here, host of the Extreme Philly Fishing Channel" I have been to that pier many times. It's crazy to see a EPF video with Edmonds in the background! Tight lines and take it easy!

In Ontario we have the one rod rule too, unless fishing for carp. It gets pretty annoying, but oh well.
you should try to catch the rare nooksack dace! It has not yet been formally described taxonomically. its range is from just above the border down two puyallup!

I moved to Washington from Oregon so I know Washington is a nightmare of complicated regulations about everything (thanks Seattle influence). Next trip to West Coast try Oregon, much better fishing for most things than Washington, much lower population thus lower pressure.
I did have to read that whole fishing DIGEST TWICE before going there. LOL. Definitely a lot of regulations.....

you HAVE TO fish a place called port renfrou. its a place on vancouver island. its AMAZING. one day you have to be there. good luck. also if you go there you have to get a charter from mckenzie fishing charters. i love their charters. i caught a 35 pound chinook there a couple years ago there with him.

Switched to barbless fishing for Smalley's last Saturday. They kept getting hooked deep in the mouth and it made things a lot easier. Baiying them with live bate must be tough though.

Now you need a book of regulations.
No surprise it took half the video to explain the regs. Washington has the most complex fishing regulations on the west coast. There's even regulationss specific to that particular pier.
