As someone who catches these pile perch all the time, there is only one bait that constantly and effectively catches them. Barnacles. If you use a very small hook, no weight and a barnacle, shell and everything, and let it float down to them you can watch them go by and eat it. Works every time
As a 35 year fisherman I would have to say that this video series was very educational for me. I dont see many fishing videos from the west coast and I've never personally fished the west coast. So thank you for introducing me to something new.
OYO-the exstracted fighting techniques 😉 And why not continue with the barbless hooks-seems more humane and definitely worthy of you Leo; minimal damage of the catch and release 💗
I actually like the looks of the barbless hooks too. Seems very fish friendly, the unhooking looks great. I wonder aboute the rate of fish that gets unhooked.
Thank you so much you have made me very happy to see you fish my boyhood dock at Edmonds was so good for me i hope to get the funds so i may see the other vids i wish you many blessed days of fishing i hope you return to Edmonds and beyond in the puget sound ,,, so much more for you to catch there !
Awhile back my wife and I visit that place , it was windy and cold .. but the local were out there going about their business like it was sunny Florida .. but I enjoy being near the water (even though I didn’t even have a rod or reel 😭)
Hope you enjoyed your time in western Washington! Need to get you up to one of our beautiful alpine lakes if you come back! Won't increase your species count at all, but it's a great experience.
That’s impressive you got that Pile Perch! They are quite plentiful here in Puget Sound and Washington Coast, but very finicky. Congratulations Leo! Hope you enjoyed your stay in the Pacific Northwest 🙏🏽
pile perch are incredibly finicky, normally I fish a size 12 or smaller on light line, they put up a great fight on ultralight gear. great vid as always!
I love how you call the fishbites "littlebites" in this video, little bites are delicious little muffins and brownies (check them out epf they're fire)
haha he says he quick releases the fish for there safety then tosses them 200 feet off the pier they hit like a cement wall to the water and sink ?. i bet half those fish die.

The legend himself has returned. The shad are finally running again here in the northeast.

The striped sea perch was a beauty, the blue markings near the gills and along the body were just wow.

Good job ESLAYING the saltwater fish as usual. Tight lines and take it eeeeeeasy
I could easily watch 5 more episodes of u fishing Edmonds, so many different sculpin species hiding amongst them "juicy holes"
Would have loved to see him hit up Lake Washington or some of our other freshwater bodies. I'm always killing it with the EPF swim around Juanita area

The right hole is hard to find!!
"How? Time passing makes mankind worse." Tempora mutantur is also the name of Haydn's Symphony 64.
I struggle to get 8 species in places I do know, so it's pretty hard to get 8 species in a place you don't know, though the ocean makes it easier.
Nice dude
Bro hit the green river while it’s hot
EPF for President 2024
