Unlikely; the only thing that may allow us to recreate wooly mammoths is their frozen carcasses that we can use to bring them back. Most other cenozoic-extinct animals would probably not be found frozen.

Several years later, I just happened to be online, and came across a website about the possibility of scientists bringing back the woolly mammoth. I don't know if this is even possible, but just thinking about it is exciting! While the 12 year old girl in me is excited about this and hopes it will happen, the 51 year old woman in me is curious and has questions. Would the woolly mammoth be able to survive in today's world? They would have to live in cold, icy parts of the world, such as the Arctic region. Would they be able to survive on the plants that grow in the world today? Were the plants that grew during the Ice Age the same as the ones that grow today, or were they different? It would be great if the woolly mammoth could be brought back, but these questions are definitely worth considering. Only time will tell if we can bring these magnificent creatures back into existence. How exciting would that be?

I understand what your saying, but I have seen this being done befor with eagles. In some parts of the world eagles went extinct because of hunting and deforestation (and other reasons), and that led to a rise in wildlife that effected the enviroment very badly. So scinentists brought eagle eggs and tought the hatchlings how to fly, hunt, breed, feed their hatchlings and all the rest using puppets and other tecniques. mammoth sized puppets are a little to hard to pull off but the point is there is all ways a way...
I’m not entirely opposed to bringing back the woolly mammoth, but I think it would be more beneficial if they introduce Asian elephants to a colder environment, slowly allow them to adapt and then release them into the Pleistocene Park (they will have to be provided with food and shelter at first, but could eventually be left to their own devices). That way, the species’ range will be extended and a large enough herd will be established to actually prevent the permafrost from melting.
Asian elephants can survive in moderately cold regions, but the kind of adaptions your speaking about to get them to the point of surviving in the artic circle would take tens of thousand’s possiblly hundreds of thousands of years, it’s just not feasible

Cute, except the mammoths are a savanna type animal. Why put them in an environment that they were not adapted to. They are not a cold climate animal. It was not humans that extinct the mammoth, there are millions of them that were extinct in a cataclysm. The mammoths were pushed by tidal forces 1000 miles to the north into the artic where they were flash frozen and preserved.
They will prevent climate changes and spread greenhouse gases. So if we keep making global warming. The wooly mammoth will keep spread greenhouse gas and it's gonna be like there is no such thing as global warming
