I dont know about other people but i find these videos incredibly helpful, learning from someone who has more experience is one thing, but understanding how they think is on a whole other level. Keep up the awesome content Blurbs

How come 40% of the screen space is a frame?
When detailing a fight on a boat at night, it's quite hard to see, even without the contrast of a bright surround.

This is a clip from my stream which I run at 936p as that works better for Twitch. I want these to be 1080p so I fill in the extra space and shrinking the video helps make it more watchable. Sadly, sea of thieves is a super dark game so it can be tough to see sometimes
@@Blurbs i believe you are downloading your VODs off twitch after your stream then?
If you aren't downloading VODs after the fact there's a setting on OBS that allows you to record in 1080p and then output at whatever quality you want (downscaled)
Obviously more taxing on your computer, however. Just a small tip if you haven't already thought of this...which you probably have LOL
@@greenbean4422 Yea that'd be nice but I'm running a sinlge PC setup and that might be a bit too taxing. Place my backup HDD is struggling on space already lol. Thanks though

What happens after the last scene? Do you sink their ship and if how do you do it? They seem to have fixed all holes. Or do you just steal their treasure? then what about the emissary flag?

I love these. It helps break down the movements that I should consider when in the moment. I used to get really anxious during a fight in SoT, but now it’s just “and.... here.... we.... go.....”
But what to do after you kill them ? How am i gonna sink them if im boarded
Ok, you’ve hit them, boarded them, killed them. Right. Now what? I noticed their sloop wasn’t super badly damaged, so I assume they will be able to respawn and repair without a problem. Are you going to keep spawn camping them until their ship sinks? And what if you’re killed? Your ship seemed to be going in a straight line and is not so close anymore, so when you respawn on your ship you will be far away and they will not have sink, and they will be repairing and fleeing. What happens then, what’s your move?
I’m sorry to be so inquisitive, but there’s something about the whole PvP thing that’s not clicking with me yet. Because I’m assuming the goal of PvP in most scenarios (including the one in this video) is to sink the opponent ship so you can loot them. But you didn’t sink them, and even if you did, would your ship not be far away enough that would be a pain to go back, find where the opponent sank, and get their stuff?
how is the ship going straight when the wheel is turned all way to the left? 👻
well, now there is a few options... sail the boat in the island, drop anchor, set it on fire, loot it. proceed spawncamping or do it like a big boy reboard your ship what shouldnt be too far anyway and let it rain cannonballs. ( ͡~ ͜ʖ ͡°)
I think my favorite thing about the breakdowns is that you're explaining not only why you make each slash, but how you use the camera to enhance the result.
A lot of m1 sword play may look quick and erratic at normal speed, but it very nuanced and camera control is a very big part of sword play.

It’s highlighted in this video but I’ve been noticing it myself, what’s the point of the sword block? I feel like half the time it does nothing and I get hit anyway, if I ever block anything it’s rarely ever all 3 hits. Is it simply me not knowing exactly what hitbox to look at or is the block just so narrow its easy to counter?
After watching your sword guide the other day I got into a fight with a border. Got hit thr first swipe, blocked the next- and then I just froze. 😂 decision anxiety. Bro just calmly took out his blunder and executed me. I really like these videos for that reason. Helps me realize that I don't NEED to know every step I'm about to take.

I am new to this game so might sound stupid of me. you board them killed them then what?? like they are gonna spawn multiple times until you destroy the ship. I have been in same position killed all the players, my boat is kind of in its own way as I left it in straight path, the enemy doesn't have Blunderbomb and the firebomb, can't destroy the ship. So like what to do or just kill them and go in you way then there is no use of doing all those effort.

i personally would not run below deck to heal because its easy for players to trap you down there vs the top where i have free space to hop and strafe while i heal

Thanks for the video! quick question: Why should you board when solo? doesn't the enemies respawn and you have to get to your ship to sink them? Or do you "conquer" their ship when you squad wipe? ty
If your boat is undamaged and you do damage to them you need to "confirm" the sink. They can just repair, a sloop doesnt have that much fire power. In order to have them sink, he has to damage them and then board with the intent of denying them time to repair

I‘m wondering: what do you after you kill the enemy crew? Because they will respawn on ship if you don‘t sink it, right?
Loved this vid, but one big question I have is : once you are in control of the enemy ship, what is the fastest way to sink it ? Is there anything on the ship that I can use to sink it ? Should I drive it straight into a rock ?
Damage it first, then board and deny the repairs. Boarding without damaging first will rarely sink the boat. You're better off boarding, killing them and then ankering them. After that, hitting a lot of (chain)shots and boarding again can actually confirm the sink
I'm decent at PvP but my problem is not using my whole knowledge of in person combat. I know tons of tips and tricks but forget to use them. Ex: ladder grab from inside the sloop, balcony jump on the gally, etc.
Are these moves possible while using a controller instead of keyboard and mouse?
Everything except maybe the 180 flick with sword he did

How do I improve quickly in this game? I upload videos, and one of the main games I play is sea of thieves, but I struggle in pvp, limiting what kinds of sot content I can make. Do you have any advice to improve in the game?
Don't shy away from PvP. The more you fight, the more you die, the better you get. Just need patience and practice.
@@Blurbs Aight, also do you have any tips for tucking? I thought that a video where I secretly lived on someones ship for a while would be funny, but I have no Idea how to properly tuck, or where to tuck.

Sincere question, as I'm newer to your channel and have just found your twitch... Do you play SoT for the rest of the game, or is it only PvP you're playing for?
Seems to me that there's a big split, I've started playing back in the beginning of January, and pretty much don't have a lot of interest in PvP but do watch these videos more of a helpful way to learn to defend my own ship better. The old "if you know what to look for, you can better defend yourself" sort of idea. I really only play Sea of Thieves for all of the other content it has. It's a fair game, but I do indeed wish there were a way to separate the PvP crowd better from those that just want the more adventuring and exploration side of the game. Mainly because here I am watching PvP tips just so I can defend while doing voyages and tall tales, lol.
Originally, all the pvp players played arena, including myself, but now that rare has removed voice chat from arena, and announced that there will be no further updates to arena, most players have swapped back over to adventure.
@@ausme7552 I mean that's fine and all, but there truly needs to be a way that the players who want PvP to be their focal point can enjoy the game, while those wanting to do adventuring and exploration can go about their business. I think it "could" be done easily and successfully, but Rare already seems like they don't care about it.
@@MongooseJakeGames game is fine. only 5 ships on a server there is space enough for people to do whatever they want to. Rare doesn't care because they want the game to be PvPvE as it is rn and don't split the players. sometimes you don't see ships for hours. no need for seperation. no easy mode

It's about player retention in the long run. This game despite what some think is not primarily PvP combat. PvP is a fraction of the overall game, and many people buy the game for the rest of the game's content. Having people leave due to forced PvP is something that I've already seen enough of to realize that "hey, this doesn't look good for the long term".
I'm personally enjoying the game quite a bit. But, and this is my sticking point, I've already had a number of people that the moment they find out I'm playing Sea of Thieves they say right away: "Oh, I used to play that... Until I got sick of toxic players and forced PvP".
I'd like to see SoT be successful for the next 10 years, as it's a fun game. But, not realizing that lots of people do not want PvP does indeed drive a peaceful group of players away. That's not a good thing, and the group vigorously defending PvP needs to realize they need to look at the other side and come to terms with it.
@@MongooseJakeGames well, PvPers aren’t always toxic people. PvPers and PvEers are both small minorities. Most of the players (90%) are PvPvE players, they enjoy both aspects of the game. Of course not everybody can be satisfied but the game has had the highest player numbers since launch last month after breaking the record in January as well. SoT is doing fine. Believe me, I have 800h in this game since launch, back then the game was way more PvP orientated. Nowadays, you can have a chill session if you want to. Yes it would be easy mode. PvP is part of the game like it or not. Everybody is „forced“ to do PvE too, wouldn’t it be unfair for pure PvPers? Removing PvP and taking away the element of surprise which is a CORE feature of the game stated by the devs multiple times would be the death of the game. Rare already said there won’t be PvE servers. A pirate game without pirates....
