  • A project in Davis aimed at addressing the homelessness crisis is coming to fruition after more than half a decade of planning.
"Paul's Place," a project of Davis Community Meals and Housing, was supported and financially backed by the community and organizations.
According to a press release, the "four-story building will provide needed services and emergency, transitional and permanent supportive housing for at-risk and homeless individuals and families living in Davis."

Is this a housing first program or a forced medication program? How long does it take for them to get permanent housing and how long can they stay there? There aren't a lot of shelters at all. They are also not easily accessible so not sure what he's talking about. Also, there are so many "store fronts" that pretend to help the homeless who get supported financially and they do absolutely nothing to help them. They "say" they offer all kinds of stuff but in reality they offer none of those things.
    Note to the reporter/interviewer:
You need to interview as if you are a homeless person yourself. Seeing a prop of a kitchen and not asking the real questions of what exactly is involved for someone to receive the help is not good interviewing skills.

18 people for how many millions of dollars invested? This money would have been better spent by building a military style barracks housing separated by walls which could house a total of over a 100 people. It makes me question who behind the scenes makes money with such a useless expenditure of tax money. How they can be so proud of doing so little just amazes me.

Just like San Diego's $500,000 porta pottys. These politicians are greasing someone's hand so they get money 💰💰💰 for themselves and their campaign. Level it to politicians to overspend on everything,

I have a lot of questions as to why only 18 units.

It’s been shown that these barracks style housing does not help homeless transition to stability. You are arguing for a model with no evidence of success. This model is evidence based and saves money long term. Emotions and reality are different. Feeling like something is a better solution does not mean data backs that up.

This building looks ridiculous. The entire concept with a giant H is absurd. Who would seriously feel proud living there? It's all so out of touch with reality.
