Everyone saying this was pointless, it really wasnt. The whole point of this season was, what are the girls willing to give up to continue protecting not only the innocents, but the magical community aswell. The "Destruction of the Sisterhood" was always going to be something we didnt expect, and it wasnt always going to be so obvious. Let's also not forget that we dont know the ramifications of them not being able to go near eachother. Not yet
While I admire Mel's selfless admiration (already more heroic than the OG Charmed Ones in Seasons 5-8) despite the reboot sisters barely saving anybody. This was just poor build up as we all knew she wasn't going to die, they already did the long lost sister thing in the pilot there was never going to be a concern with her dying. I also just find Abigael to be a very annoying character. Why would Mel tell Abigael that Ruby is a friend? That seems odd to tell someone your relationship partner is a friend.
@@user-lb7dh4wq1g She takes up spotlight from who are suppose to be our leading characters, in almost every scenario involving her had the characters act stupid to justify her being a "good" villain (like that love triangle with Harry/Macy/Abigael) and she's overly smug without any of the charisma. She has also done nothing to redeem herself or act as a means of them trusting her, since it normally involves an interior motive. I'd recommend the Charmed Hard with a Vengance podcast on TH-cam, they explain why.

Think about it when Ruby was a kid her mom brought a man into their lives, that man was a demon and Abby knew who Ruby was when they went to the future
