    This is a good summary of incentives, thank you for making it.
    I would like to ask about the studies on extrinsic incentives which were mentioned around 6:20. The narrator said, "As soon as the task involves some form of cognitive skill, creative skills, or conceptual capabilities, extrinsic incentives were no longer effective and actually led to a poorer performance."
    What are these studies? If this is true, extrinsic incentives seem to guarantee mediocrity in pretty much anything.

    lottery. Bad car drives get a fee, that fee is then pooled and won by a good driver. Don't fight the bad, use the bad to power the good.
