I too have a s. African x Mees cross. Havnt got a chance to wrk with em yet. Had 4 pair. Lost three pretty sure cocidia. Put all my birds on a 4n1 for 7 days. Other 5 look to have recovered well. So I'll be putting them down next season.

That 4th pair, that red check baldhead looks like it has orange eyes. All south africans have pearl eyes. Could be a mason bird. Which is english birds.

The south Africans A lot of badge stuff in those you have to learn to feed them they eat more than Mee birds or most other families. So if you feed them like Mees you will get bumpers and roll downs but if you feed the mees like SA birds they will fly for 3 hours.

Am from south africa .tha reflect axactly south african rollers but after roll they are birmingham.i dont know if is because of the way they bred them here in south africa after importing them or wat.but their appearance seem to be different from wat i see in american rollers.
