- Pages is very close to our hearts and wanted to share with you behind-the-song insight into what went into making the records. Here's some exclusive footage of Ian, Sekou and Nick at his Nashville studio digging in deep on the sounds and process for In Fair Light. Here's the first half
When one of your favourite artists says stuff like "Peter Gabriel and David Gilmour" you quickly realize why he's the man.
20+ years deep into the band's lifespan and they are still releasing songs that are some of the best in their catalog.
I love that the band is always quick to acknowledge their influences.
One thing to remember about Big Wreck: just when you think the song can't get better, they bring in the chorus... 🔥
Oh man, Pages 1 is incredible. I was absolutely OBSESSED when they put it out. had it on repeat for a long time. Saw them live just before it came out, and they opened with "In Fair Light" and that was spectacular. If you haven't seen them live, I can't recommend them highly enough- killer show!
This one is becoming one of my all time favourites. I could play that intro in a loop. What a beautiful tone.

In fair light is my new favorite big wreck song. The minute I heard it, it was beautiful.
I love Big Wreck! Great guys and great musicians. To me, the most impressive thing about this band is how they seem to get better with every single release. When the 7s albums came out, I thought to myself 'How can they possibly top this?...Then Pages 1 comes out and does just that! Incerdible...How are they not the biggest band in the world right now???
I completely agree! It’s ridiculous that we have to exist in an era of music where musicianship and songwriting aren’t exalted and pushed by the powers that be. Big Wreck, Kings X, Dream Theater, Spock’s Beard….so many talented, amazing bands that should be as popular today as Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Yes and others were back in the day.
These gentlemen keep me going. I listen to each album on repeat for several months upon release, never tiring of them. ❤
My kids will say "Dad put yor favorite song on please" when we are in our truck 😂. In fair light Is the tune they are talking about. Best ep I've heard in years!
Ian Thornley is plain and simply, a musical genius. Definitely in the the top 10 of the best l guitarists and song writers alive today.
His music is a gift!

My favorite band. I can listen to their entire output, every album, and there's only two songs that I'll skip past. I'm seeing them on June 2nd (my fourth time seeing them) and can't wait. Pages 1 is uniformly outstanding. I can't get enough of Summerlong. I'm really hoping they'll play it when I see them. Easily the most underrated band going right now.
Wish they would film some rehearsing and/or performance of the Thornley 'Come Again ' concert for those of us who can't go.
You guys are stellar in so many ways. Been listening to you guys since 97 was was hooked back then. Your song writing is great and carries me through my days. Keep it up!

The notes chosen in that opening guitar riff are truly magical and invoke something in my brain that can only be done by Ian.
I realized listening to this song that, being a humble guy, I don't take time in my life to celebrate victories even though I should, I end up just moving onto the next. I am getting on in life now and am inspired somehow by this track to celebrate everyone moving forward big or small. I hope everyone thats works on, or listens to, these albums maybe finds an intense moment of clarity through inspiration too.

I will never understand why Big Wreck did not take off when the band hit the scene in the 90s. I've been a fan since The Oaf hit the Boston airwaves back then and the band has only gotten better and better. IFT is one of the most gifted musicians ever.

I love everything about this song - especially being a big Genesis fan myself. Such a breath of fresh air. Are the guitars standard tuning?
The beginning of this makes me think of Miami Vice; it has such a Jan Hammer-esque vibe to it. EDIT: by the way, I was typing this and "Miami Vice" was mentioned about a minute after I hit enter.
