After a long while of messing around with these things I've found that with the the right method you can fully mag or demag a driver with one quick pass through. It's a circular motion, around the edge of the plastic.

I'm 75 year old. I boughten one of these Mastercraft mag/demag's today for $5 and taxes. Although I remember seeing how you could magnetize metal with proximity rubbing, early in my school years, I had to come here to see exactly how this tool works. I have gone my entire working life NEEDING but deprived of this idea, this tool. But I can sure still use it in my hobby which involves working with tiny screws and bolts. I guess I can still learn something new on the "good days". You yuk. (Not to be confused with that stupid lol).

I hate the dirt and filings a magnetic Phillips screwdriver tends to pick up from the bottom of a toolbox! LOL Great stuff!

    Hello again 1D10CRACY
Thank you for another Great Video. I've been thinking about this for a long time. Thank you for the reminder to buy one. Since your on the subject of Magnetic Tools. Have you reviewed either the Gearwrench 81235 or the Sunex 8855 magnetic universal joint sockets and Extensions sets. The idea is to turn the socket into a magnet, so you don't drop tools or parts. What I cannot find out is just how strong is the magnetic tools. I've called both companies and got zero information. I have to admit I like the idea very much. Again thank you

Certain kind of cheap screw drivers have metal that will never be magnetic

@@7573Dca I'm having the opposite problem, I have one of these things and I can't get it to demagnetize the screwdriver. No matter how I pass the bit through the demagnetizing side, it still picks up screws just as easily as before.
