Live-bearers like guppies and endlers are also great first fish for newly set-up tanks because they poop a lot more than other nano fish, which is good for the health of the aquatic plants.

It’s ideal and I do plan to get more but with plenty of room one breeding pair is ok. Breeders keep just 2 together to guarantee the genetic outcome of a blood line.
you should have more females then males 3 to 1 is good
I will. 3 to one is best but a pair is ok too if they have space. Males can be quite persistent…

I am planning to keep guppies in 4ft tank...all male guppies around 15 male
My concern is -
Whether all guppies will be at top...all the time ?
I expect some to be swimming in middle and bottom layer

Why does it take so long to cycle a tank
For me I started cycling my tank when I got my fish
Then for my other thanks I just put some water from my first tank into the others,my fish are still going after a year,what's cycling for? Just a question
Wonderful question, and super controversial. Most people will jump in right away and tell you what you did was wrong. You did what was called a fish in cycle. I have done it many times with good results. What is a tank cycle? Well you are trying to level out nitrates, and ammonia. These things can be toxic to fish and are found naturally in tank setups. They come from fish waste and decomposing matter. Ok so how do they even out? There is a bacteria often found in fish poop that “ eats” away at the bad stuff making it safe but it takes time. You can get that good bacteria from tank starter adds in that you buy at the store and most people will tell you to do that. You can also add old filter media to your tank. That’s another debate, Iv done what you did and add old water but people say the bacteria doesn’t actually live in the water just your filter. I say that doesn’t make sense but it would just be trapped in your filter forever and never help your tank. If you start the tank with a live fish and do water changes you should get the same results as nature will even itself out.
