Awwww.... thank you all the much! We could start a chant, "Algorithm... oh, Algorithm. Where art thou, Algorithm?'' On second thought, I'll work on the chant. Haha. Thanks again!
Discovered your channel a week ago or so. Really love the way you explain things. Definetly one of the most helpful AND entertaining art channels on TH-cam! Thank you
Wow! Thank you so much for your kindness. I am very humbled by your words. I am so glad you enjoy the videos. Thanks again for your time, I really appreciate it. Cheers!
I usually am a ghost watcher but I just had to say this; you are such a great teacher, I’ve been watching your videos since I have an oil painting to finish but I just felt I was doing something wrong, and your videos have brought to light so many mistakes I was making. Also the way you explain things makes it SOOOO easy to understand, I truly am grateful for your videos and hope you keep making more. I wish you great success 🫶
I came across your channel about 3 days ago, and have been referring to your explanation of Alla prima since I started working with oil paints for the first time. Thank you for your optimism and consistency. Wish Skully and Hermes the best! 🎨🖌️
Thanks for sharing!! I am honored. Hope the videos help. And of course! Oil painting is fun and very rewarding, but it is difficult and takes time to learn. So please always note and experience the small victories along the way. And always afford yourself the grace to make mistakes and to learn from them. Good luck and cheers!
So, on the one hand you cleared my block about what to do next on my project, but on the other now I don't have any more excuses to watch youtube. Thanks again!
@@michaeljohnnolan I'm going to be attempting my very first landscapes with those two big canvases. What I NEED to be doing is this portrait of a friend for xmas, but I'm caught up in perceiving the pieces of a face instead of seeing the shapes that make up a face. I have been needing a way to focus my study on the face so I could judge progress instead of just doing stuff until it looked right - a way of learning I try to avoid when I can.
This video is amazingly informative!! I haven’t ever had formal art instruction and I’ve never heard anyone explain how to draw eyes (or anything!) so carefully and clearly. Easiest subscribe ever!!
Wonderful! Thank you for watching and taking the time to leave such an awesome comment. I am so overjoyed you liked the video and it was able to help. Thanks for the subscribe. Cheers!
What a lovely video! As usual, clear explained and all the great information. Thanks so much! I wish you all the best and much more for 2024, filled with blessings for each day and much success in your career. Winter has set here in Champaign, Illinois and it is time to get back to painting! Happy new year! 🎉🎉🎉

Thank you so much for this video, rarely do I see any TH-cam videos talking about the anatomy of the eye and only the aesthetic and ways to stylize it. 😅
@@michaeljohnnolan thank YOU and it’s so very very sincere. The videos are impressive art in themselves. The information is exceptional and game-changing in the helpful information!! Hands down, my absolute new favorite channel and I use a lot of TH-cam for educating mahself. You and Skully deserve top billing. (Hi again Skully ;) Thank you thank you
@@michaeljohnnolan there was this legal eagle scandal thing. That’s boring. But what WAS interesting is when he said a quote “a rising tide raises all ships.” Meaning when one creator shows other creators what’s next level production, they have to excel too. And no kidding, you’re a game changer. I can’t get enough of the innovative style.

Hello I'm new here. I really like your humor. And your passion about technics. It's more about the art than sucking my attention into your ego. 😅 I like that. It's like meeting a buddy who's like you.
Welcome! And thank you for the wonderful compliments. You are very kind. I am so glad you liked the video. Thank you for sharing and for your kindness. Cheers!
Bridgman's "Constructive Anatomy" is a solid option, but I would recommend Burne Hogarth's "Drawing The Human Head". Thanks for the kind words. Thanks for watching.
Nice! Trust me, I know the feeling. When I first realized it too, it was eye opening. 😉 So sorry, terrible pun. Thanks for watch and leaving a comment. Best of luck on your eye drawings. Cheers!
Truly. These are an absolute gift to artists but also to the TH-cam viewers. Algorithm, boost this guy!!
