I so long for these magical rainy days where the air is cool. Where I live summer is extremely hot and we don't get any rainy days for months. Thanks for sharing your cozy rainy days, it brings me calmness and hope

Sometimes being comfortably quiet with someone is the best healing one can get. This video very much invokes that feeling, thank you for creating this! I do love process videos on how art comes to be, it's very enticing and really does show how much work goes into each piece of art. "Trusting the process" part is also a great thing to behold for anyone who is at least in some form connected to making art, it can be so hard to trust the process and know that these first or intermediate steps are needed for something beautiful to be made. Lovely video as always! p.s. That little bonk on the head from the lamp made me giggle 🤭
Trusting the process is the most important part! So much art would stay unfinished if we didn’t trust the process. To create something beautiful, you need to create something messy first. But most struggle to come to terms with the messy part.
How lovely - this rainy vlog is so refreshing. At the moment, we're experiencing a heatwave. I live near the sea. Our countryside is parched land - I marvel how I can still find plants and living creatures in its midst. I love snorkeling and taking underwater photos. There is beauty in every season, whether on land or sea. Thank you, Daria, I love your paintings.
I enjoy watching you paint. Did you take a photograph, or did you paint from memory? I can relate very well as I too am a melancholic soul. I've found that over the years I've become less so. It depends on the weather, if you can believe that. I love rain, and I've learned to appreciate autumn and winter, but deep down I'm a spring and summer girl, living my best life in California where the sun shines often. I enjoy the long days and long growing seasons. 🥰
I am also a watercolorist and enjoy watching you paint. You have advanced very quickly in a short time. Keep at it! Love all your videos. Can't remember if I shared this in the past, but check out Natasha Newton, who also lives in rural England (don't know if she's a neighbor of yours, but she could be). She shares a melancholy sensibility similar to yours and has curated a couple sets of watercolors with the Deep Deep Light company that are similar to the colors you are drawn to and mixing.

I’m delighted that you have taken up water colour painting as you have all the attributes to be a very good artist. I can tell by your videos that you have an excellent eye and deep appreciation of nature. I am an artist who’s tried nearly every medium but water colour is the most challenging (but loveliest) however the advantages are you can take your sketchbook and paints everywhere and the little sketches don’t take so long to do. You won’t regret it and It will bring you so much joy and help you through difficult times.

We had some storms blow through earlier today. Honestly, I wish they had lasted longer than they did. I love the coziness of rain. Your waterlily painting is beautiful! You've inspired me to get my watercolors back out and dive back into painting.

This is so lovely. I’m just trying to get more into watercolour, I’d love to know - how would you compare your Meiljang set to your W&N watercolour set? 🙂
I like both for different things! I’d say MeiLiang watercolours are much more pigmented and thick on paper. They’re creamier in texture and overall a pleasure to paint with. Especially for a beginner, I find they’re very easy to work with & a great value for the amount of colours you get. W&N waterolours are more.. “watercoloury”? They’re not as pigmented, a bit grainy in texture and lay on paper much thinner than ML. It’s good for much lighter, more watery paintings. I’m not sure if I’m describing it quite well! 😄 Also, MeiLiang and W&N pigments are a bit different, even when they have the same name. For example, Payne’s Grey in ML is more of a blue shade, when in WN it’s brownish grey.

Aah capturing them and keeping for yourself is beautiful! If anything, not all moments should be shared! 😌 I use my regular Panasonic GH6, but the lens that I use (Voigtlander 17.5mm) is what allows me to capture details as it’s able to focus on a very close range!
