I once went to a local greasy spoon brunch restaurant for the first time. The prices were really low, and I was worried I'd get enough food. So I ordered the daily special: the “Buffet Plate.”
My plate came out. Large blueberry pancakes, hash browns, scrambled eggs. It was a lot and I was impressed.
But then they brought out the second plate.
My mouth agape, they brought out a third.
I ended up eating less than ⅓ of the “Buffet Plate” (not *Plates*?), taking home ⅓, and sending another ⅓ home with a friend to give her husband, with instructions not to tell him it was only ⅓ of my meal until he expressed surprise at how much food there was.
