I agree with you, it is a clever game. An aspect that makes it such a good game is that you are mostly focussing on your opponent instead of the game itself. The bluff-double bluff element with the counter cards makes it so intense. I also like the fact that the aim is to balance in order to win. I find the Asian theme quite fitting as a lot of eastern philosophy emphasises the importance of balance.
