    Thank you for a great video. Will the eraser take up enough graphic, where you press down with your hands while coping the drawing? Thank you

    • @AlisaLaporteArt
      @AlisaLaporteArt  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, the eraser takes up the loose graphite without completely erasing your drawing. I mostly roll it across like you saw me do in the video, not too hard. I've had great success this way! Thank you so much for your question and support!

    Yet another extremely helpful video, Alisa! I have had problems with the transfer paper lines disappearing when I add background washes.

    • @AlisaLaporteArt
      @AlisaLaporteArt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can lightly go over the lines with a pencil so the don't disappear.

    how hot do you have your iron? what fabric setting? thanks for the video

    • @AlisaLaporteArt
      @AlisaLaporteArt  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sharon B I only have fabric settings on my iron, and I put it on cotton since I use cotton paper. I would say start on a low setting and if you need to go higher than do so. Just be careful not to start out too hot. Thank you for your comment and question!

    • @sharonb537
      @sharonb537 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AlisaLaporteArt ok. well i tried it before I saw your comment (on the cotton setting) even though this is cheaper non cotton paper. its a test painting so no big deal. will find out how it goes when i remove my books tomorrow! my iron only steams on the hotter settings, apparently. thanks for the reply!

    QUESTION... how do i know what lines are significant enough to transfer from a photo to wc paper? OR should/could /would ya add 'lines' to an image for delineating shadows?

    • @AlisaLaporteArt
      @AlisaLaporteArt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Good Question Pi Barrante, I think part of that is deciding on what you as an artist are wanting to portray, more detail or less. I like to at least have the main lines like if I'm drawing a face, the outline of the face, the eyes, nose, ears, and just the outline of the hair and maybe significant lines in the hair I would want to show case. Maybe I could do a video on this using different subjects like landscapes, portraits, things like that, would that be more helpful?

      Are you talking about on a electronic tablet? I've used 300lb paper before but I prefer 140lb.

    I don’t get the point of the brown tape

    • @AlisaLaporteArt
      @AlisaLaporteArt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lillyz great question, the brown tape is especially great for large watercolor paintings. It stretches and holds down the paper better than masking tape would for a large painting. Keeping the paper flat while wet.
