Damn good video. Useable information, opinions and balance between the two brands. I always leaned toward Rawlings over Wilson specifically for the more refined and old school looks of the design.

Can't beat that view of A Mountain.
Personally, not a fan of Wilson's Superskin. Feels odd when people don't condition or steam it. I question whether the material is worth it at A2000 and A2K price range. Their palm tends to bubble too. Their stock laces can be shoddy too but hey leads to a lot of relace sales!
Almost forgot feel like intentions on Wilson's double welting on thumb is to make it hard on glove engravings. Wonder if they'd ever be tempted to give some space considering how small their embroidery are and limited it can be.
just got my 1st A2000, LOVE it so far! Always Rawlings for me in the past. I also have a custom 44Pro on order :)
Started out with a Rawlings and bought a pro issued DW5 A2K. Best glove I've ever put on my hand. Rawlings gloves have always felt way to big on my hand, even with the narrow fit options

I just bought my 12 yo son a HOH for Christmas. Its a custom, with the USA flag embroidered on it. I chose the HOH over the A2K because the leather and overall quality felt better. We just started breaking it in. Thanks for the vid.
I pick Rawlings because I'm a lefty and Wilson dont sell hardly any lefty gloves on their site🤦♂️

Rawlings seems more for the bigger hand. I always associate Wilson with the middle infield guys-they seem lighter, smaller, flashier, easier to play with fingers alone. Rawlings feel like a luxury car, slightly thicker leather, longer lasting…and mizuno looks classic like a Rawlings, but performs and feels more like a Wilson race car.
Rawlings they last longer hold their shape better and use a better leather

Rawlings was always my go to , but I had a Wilson when I was younger and I loved it and I prefer Superskin over Mesh anyday! That college issued A2000 is mean ! Seen a lot of Wilson’s I like lately but I’m still gonna always be Rawlings ,tbh if you’re gonna spend the bread get a Nokona ! American made! In Merica

I tend to go for the a2000. It breaks in much quicker at almost as high of a quality as a HOH. Although they’re only stiff enough for infield use for about 2 years
I prefer Rawlings because the way that they break in.

It seems to me that both companies have pro and con to their gloves! But I’m always curious if most players have to use (and put over) one cause their team is associated with that company but have tried the other one and preferred it.

i personally think it all comes down to the welting style. Rawlings have more options for welting styles, but dont have the standard duel welting, only their 31 models which are still good. Wilson however are entirely duel welting and have a bunch of different variations. just about every glove company makes just as good gloves as each other and its more about the comfort and shape that you want, as both companies offer different shapes and feels but still high quality
I don't understand what the difference would be between the college issued gloves vs pro. I have both the Wilson A2000 and Rawlings HOH. They are both similarly priced (around $300). Both are great gloves but I prefer the Rawlings. The quality is second to none and it was an easy break in (like 3 days) vs a much longer break in for the A2000. When you order the Rawlings you can specify how much you want it broken in at the factory. I did 60% factory, 40% player break in. The A2000 is just very stiff out of the box. Once broken in though it's very nice but it takes more effort to break it in. Also, I don't care for the snake skin on the A2000. It feels cheap.
I like the sound when the ball hits the Rawlings. It's beautiful and music to my ears! In addition, there are so many more customize options for Rawlings gloves. Its amazing. You have the option for several pocket types depending on if you play outfield, infield, hardball, softball, etc. So for me, I prefer the Rawlings HOH over the Wilson A2000 but really it's a matter of preference because both gloves are very good.
Always been a Rawlings guy. I like the leather better. But Wilson is good too. They have both the same style webbing. The H-Webb is popular. Now they have the mesh material. It's o.k in my opinion.Nothing like the Heart of the Hide Glove.
I have both Rawlings and Wilson and I feel most pro preferred in my opinion play bigger, Wilson feels like it plays “true to size” I have a rc22 11.5” and it feels like playing with a 11.25 inch. I have a 11.75 pro preferred and feels like a 12” where as my friend has a heart of hide 11.75 and looks/feels smaller so I think that it depends in my opinion on the model.
The fact that I can get a custom Rawlings with a mod trap web vs a Wilson that has no option to change the web has me leaning Rawlings. Also my buddy has a stock black a2000 and and it felt a little thin and flimsy for a $250 glove.

I like Wilson because it breaks in fast it feels more come verbal and I can control it more
Love baseball but a glove was a glove to me always however I picked up what I believe to be a 1940s Mickey mantel pro series Rawlings glove for a quarter at a local thrift shop any tips on getting some more info on it super curious and have no idea how to go about it

yes I double pinky, it closes the glove better and the form stays nicer.
