Saura Swasthya (Energy for Health, Karnataka) Initiative in partnership with Government of Karnataka

Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka, In collaboration with SELCO Foundation announced the Saura Swasthya Initiative on 21st November 2024.
Saura Swasthya program aims to strengthen health service delivery across 5000 public health facilities reaching 3 crore population by 2026. This will be done by incorporating decentralised solar energy infrastructure as a foundational infrastructure requirement for health facilities.
The supply of reliable energy is fundamental to the success of healthcare systems. The delivery of critical medical services, such as the operation of life-saving equipment, the preservation of vaccines, and the 24/7 operations of health centres, suffers severely without it. Saura Swasthya addresses this challenge head-on by integrating renewable energy into healthcare delivery systems.
