Where does the church stand if it cannot adhere to the teachings of the Lord. We are all entitled to free will and can choose the path we want to take. What i do not understand is, why not go where you are accepted than trying to force the church to comform to what you think is more comfortable for you. Lev 18:22, lev 20:13, rom 1:26-27, 1 cor 6:9-10 are the biblical views on same sex. However, we are all Gods creation and he loves us that is why he offers us forgivessness when we repent of and turns away from sin. If the church cannot be militant In upholding the teachings of the bible. God saves us all.

as a delegate to Synod this year, it was a long, difficult and frustrating week for me . I was encouraged by this latest car chat and appreciate your comments , moving forward to find a space that shows God's love and acceptance and not to be shackled by one denomination's rules. Keep sharing!

I would agree not to be shackled to one’s denomination rules if they contradict God’s word, but would you be able to define God’s love, or is it something ambiguous that just sounds nice? How about: God demonstrated His love for us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Now the movement to affirm sin is doing a disservice to the love of God. Why send God’s only Son to die for something that’s not a sin? That would be cruel if it were true. The Lord said “come as you are,” but we’re not called to remain as we are. If, as a congregation, we have accountability to each other (not just about one sin, but all our sins) to confess our faults to each other and pray for one another, we will be healed. I’d broken all of God’s law, but God had mercy on me. He can do the same for you and anyone else through Jesus Christ, but please, you’ve gotta stop deceiving people with this false gospel that doesn’t call sin sin. Turn to Christ. His mercy can cover you no matter what you’ve done. I want to walk through the gates of heaven next to all of you. I want to see your faces and be able to say, “We’re finally here, my sisters! Let’s go be with God forever!” Please think about this. Love is motivating me to write to you, Marcia, Joey, Dana, and anybody else reading this.

The church which is the people, need to be faithful to God's written word and His design for our lives. We need to preach the truth with grace, love and kindness.

The CRC upheld the Heidelberg confession. God bless them. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. We are all sinners. You two girls and me included. The church is not a showcase but a bodyshop for all of us. That is why we need a church to help us live by God's word.

I'm sorry to hear that this is the primary value of your faith. I pray that God will bless and cleanse you, that you may follow Him. All LGBT people are welcome in the church, not on the basis of their sin, but on the basis of Christ's love, which casts out all sin and makes us righteous. I pray you will one day experience His love

“I’m looking forward to finding a church where I feel safe and welcome”. What exactly have CRC churches done to you that make you feel unsafe ? Have they threatened you physically ? Sounds like implied false accusations to me. Their not supporting your misinterpretations of the Bible doesn’t mean your are unsafe or unwelcome in a CRC church.

There are so many protestant denominations which are very accepting, why would you not just leave the CRC?

Congrats on the engagement! I've really appreciated your videos and so I was eager to see this one. I grew up in the CRC too, and was very sad to see how Synod unfolded. It's been a struggle to decide what to do, so I was glad to hear your description of those two options. I also think everyone should do what feels right for them and we need both responses. It's hard to tell what will happen from here, but I'm glad to hear from you and that you're doing well!

Do you pick up your cross and follow God or you chose what's comfortable for your life and put Jesus into the box? I love you guys that's why I'm telling you Bible states it clearly, homosexuality is a sin.

Thank you for sharing. Congrats on your engagement. Change will not happen from without so some of us have to stay and advocate for change. Feel safe wherever you go and don't loss the faith.

It's so nice to hear from you two again!! I'm a gay Christian myself and it's rare to have role models in that regard.
It's also heartbreaking to watch church after church make these decisions and vote out affirming parishes. I feel that their negative consequences will ripple longer than these leaders realize.
And congratulations on getting engaged!!! Marriage is freakin awesome in my opinion 🥰
