As a soldier dating a civilian guy..I would say for the past 5 months it has been tough not because I'm working far from home and boyfriend but because of that when I left there was no goodbyes.. I slept and the following day was told pack your things you going to work to this place for the enforcement of Lockdown for the coming 21 days,it was Ohk until extended to months and I'm still here but nonetheless I thank God for blessing me with the understanding boyfriend who respect my profession and always supporting me.. As a young person who is currently in a 6-year+ courtship LDR, I cannot stress the important of prayer!! So many battles in the relationship )and otherwise) are won when you and your partner are on your knees. Don’t think you can do it without God because that’s just fooling yourself.
Try to spend as much time with each other as possible. I only see my partner once or twice a year at most but when we are together we make sure we create memories to last us until our next meeting.
Also, communicate!!! Be very honest about where you are emotionally and spiritually. If you no longer feel like you want to be in the relationship, be honest and don’t string your partner along.
Do fun things together over video calls. Cook with each other, pray together and do devotions together, play games together , etc. tThings don’t have to be boring just because you’re miles apart
Lastly, remember that this is your relationship. The two of you are the only ones that can make it work or destroy it.

Eva Itumeleng If your family doesn’t know about him and he means a lot to you then that needs to change. You need to tell your close family members (mom,sister,etc) how much this person means to you and how much you want to build a life together. That way , even if you feel like you want to spend time with your family, who you see every day or more often than your partner, then they will also suggest you spend time with him or move their plans around to accommodate you. You’ll be very surprised.
You need to prioritize time together since ,I’m assuming, you see a future with your partner. It’s not to say you’ll abandon your family but balance ,sis. Balance. Another thing, remember that maybe he took time off work for example to spend time with you.
Or maybe you guys need to organize your meetings better. Talk honestly about the times that suit both of you guys

My bf and i have been in a long distance relationship for about 5years, i am based in Capetown and he is in Limpopo. We communicate all the time however i think this lockdown has really been hard on us since we last saw each other in Jan, last week he went on a camp where phones are only allowed for an hour, one day a week. He will be back at the end of August 😭. I keep myself busy with work, watching our videos, looking at our pictures , sending him messages (he will see them when he opens his phone) and talking to my family. I stay away from situations that may get me into entanglements 🤣🤣, and its all worth it!!!

Last year I was at home in the EC the whole year and we only got to see each other for a few days in January and another few days in December. So only twice the whole year last year. It was all worth it, he and our relationship are worth it all. So I'm also staying.

Yes u can love knows no bounds
So me and my partner have been together for 4yrs and 7months. Our relationship has always been a distance relationship from the beginning. I’m in Dubai and he lives in SA. Before this pandemic we would see each other twice or three times a month since I’m a F.A. mind you sometimes I’m just on duty so I stay 24 hrs in SA but man when you have found the one, it’s worth it. We have learnt to be patient and not worry ourselves about when are we gonna see each other again. We communicate all the time and with the time difference, sometimes I fly to a country where SA is 8 or 10 hrs ahead/behind but we make it happen. We are so honest to each other and we always talk about our feelings in fact we talk about EVERYTHING.
We have not seen each other since March before lockdown and this is the only time we really feeling this distance ( We miss that physical touch) but it has made us to connect even more. My boyfriend is one person who has been keeping me sane during this time. Our relationship has been amazing in terms of distance. Respect, Loyalty, Honesty, Communication are the key to a distance relationship.

Hubby and I were in a long distance relationship for three years, two years dating and one year while we were married. We kinda became pros at it until the we tied the knot, after that I couldn't deal. During the first two years we really grew though because talking on the phone for a minimum of one hour on the phone builds a connection and depth that I would never trade. Haaa this was a good episode. I'm in a LDR, been in it since day one. Now we are married and he's planning on moving to where I live. Unfortunately with this pandemic, a lot is on hold and has affected the process of him coming. We have been married for over a year now. So we know where we are going, but it does get hard at times because we miss each other etc. Thank God for WhatsApp but still... presence is better. What keeps us going is Praying together♡ very very important and also involving each other in most of our day to day plans. So yes, communication is key. Finally, we watch Netflix together via WhatsApp and read books then discuss. We've been reading the book of Daniel and Revelation, that has kept us busy for weeks . Also read 'Benefits of Love making in Marriage, Trevor Noah's book, Love languages, Gabrielle Union's book, The alchemist, Deep work, Mindset etc

I’m in a long distance relationship right now where we’re in different countries and what I’ve found to work really well for us is compromising , in terms of time zones and sacrificing time with friends because you know that’s when he’ll be available etc, and also communicating!!! Like Rego said , being honest about how you feel and especially when you’re feeling it. Putting conversations off for later puts a lot of unnecessary strain on a relationship. So i would say learning to compromise and communicating honestly are what really help to build a long distance relationship.

I just found your channel and more specifically this video and I believe God wanted me to see it in order to give me some courage. I’m in a LDR marriage. I just got married in December 2019 and I haven’t been able to see my husband since then and I’m so sad. And lately it’s been even harder, I’ve just been really really really sad. So I’ve been working a lot to keep my mind elsewhere. We’re going through the immigration process right now and I know it’s in God’s hands, that’s the only thing keeping me sane. Kim lives in JHB and Tevin in pta. It was a lot easier for us to see each other cause it’s only an hours drive. But since the beginning of lockdown, things have been hard because of the restrictions on travel and obviously COVID, since we both still live at home and we don’t want to bring danger into our home.
It’s been hard. We’ve broken up a few times during the lockdown😂 but we’re in a better place now.
Communication is important when you’re on a LDR. We believe that speaking at least once a day makes things better. Speak about how you feel. Be compassionate to each other
Your love story is exactly what has happened between my boyfriend and I, like from first when you didn't know you would be where you are right now. We are not married yet because I'm still studying and we are in a long distance relationship but we have grown, accepted and understood and still understanding our relationship and the love we have for each other.
