Honestly feel sad for people who need the help - people who can’t afford anti depression meds and assist - Elon is ok 👍 he is the terminator and not seeking assist - he’s just being factual and not looking for sympathy. No expert here but a thought, depression is a physical condition of the mind, not just an emotional response? The medication physically helps the brain to balance properly. No different than taking a medication to help the body heal.

In the US, Ketamine is legal but controlled substance, meaning it has medical value, particularly in anesthesia and certain psychiatric treatments, while also acknowledging the need to limit its availability to reduce misuse and abuse. When administrated by doctor, it really helps the depression, as proven by many researches and most importantly approved by FDA. If Elon has bouts of depression, I have no doubt whatsoever this is one of the best treatments for him. Regardless, this is private matters between he and his doctor. I wish Elon all the best in recovery from this awful conditions.

I am a huge Elon fanboy but he continues to amaze me. Such a brave soul to come out about his depression issues. Raising as much awareness as possible surrounding mental health issues is so very important. I lost my daughter to anxiety, depression and ultimately suicide and she never reached out and let us know how much she was suffering. Peace be with you Mr. Musk and thank you.

I hate SSRIs. I kept going to doctors for about 30 years of my 41 and they kept diagnosing me with anxiety. I'd Tell the new one at first interaction that "I don't feel anxious". Last year I finally got diagnosed (costed me about 1k) with adult ADD and life has not been better. Bothers me how hard i had to push back for so long. It was demoralizing.
Yes, ssri's do make you feel like a zombie. I was given them for pain management, for fibromyalgia/chronic fatigue syndrome, such as amitryptaline, nortryptaline and tried lyrica. Never again for lyrica. I was that zoned out I found myself crossing the road without looking. I immediately weaned myself off it. The first two, caused extreme drowsiness. Ami caused me to sleep for around 16 to 18 hours straight and nor slightly less around 13 to 15 hours. I never got much pain relief from ami, I was better on nor, but the drowsiness was intolerable.

Ketemine scares me. I only had it once during a surgery and it made me feel 2 dimensional and I imagined my nurse as a pink monster.
I'm glad you didn't take ketemine before you watched the Lemon-Musk "interview". Whatever you imagined Lemon as might ruin your sleep for years.
The Ketamine you received during surgery is a bolus higher dose (3-5mg/kg). The dose Elon is receiving is likely microdosing (0.5mg/kg)- only 10% of the amount you received and infused over 45min or longer. Treatment for depression using Ketamine is significantly different in its delivery and dosing vs surgical dosing.
@@Jkhpjkis it true that humans have a stronger tolerance to ketamine compared to animals? I heard it basically knocks animals out with relatively small doses and with humans it more or less acts as a psychedelic until you reach a higher dose. Is this just human bias?

Ketamin have helped me in the past. im 27 and have had 4 bouts with depression. It helps to leave the things behind for a short time, so you can get a short period of rest.

Medication. My revivifier is a terrific psychologist. Doc suggests that SSRIs are mislabeled as “antidepressants.” SSRIs are very helpful with Anxiety disorders. Clinical depression requires specialized medication & therapy.

As a clinical psychologist, I really wish he would mention the importance of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in addition to help treat depression. As an investor, if Jim Cramer is supporting Elon, then that means the insiders know something that is about to go boom! I'm in.

Been on SSRI now over 20 years and recently have suffered cognitive decline ( i.e. Alzheimer's type symptoms) I want to change meds cuz I really do need them but want away from Floride based meds. Thanks Elon for informing me of this medication...😎

I use an SSRI 10mg and have been for about 2-3 years I worry about it because of Elon and Chamath’s criticisms of them but I don’t use it for depression I use it for anxiety. No idea if ketamine helps with anxiety so wouldn’t make the switch
Well SSRIs are not sugar pills, same as ketamine.
I watched the interview in full. I found it interesting. I felt that Lemon was biased and lacked balance. However, he made interesting points and Musk rebutted them well. A soft interview might not have allowed Musk to make his arguments so convincingly. Overall it was stimulating and thought-provoking.

Well, I've taken SSRI's and they didn't turn me into a "zombie" but rather they made me feel like my brain was wrapped in polar fleece. In other words, there was a layer of fuzz in there between me and feeling the direct impact of the outside world. But I wasn't a "zombie" by a long shot. They also didn't solve any problems, and the overall feeling was mildly unpleasant. This was many years ago. I'd never take them again.

WOW I used to use Ketamine regularly for about a year or so. We called it special K back in college. This was over 20 years ago! Very enjoyable drug with minimal to no drawbacks/ hangover/ side effects that i can recall. Effects are immediate and last 20-35 minutes. The feeling is similar to the buzz you get from drinking 3-4 shots of alcohol back to back. So if you’ve ever done that- it’s the equivalent feeling. Except you aren’t actually drunk. Don’t slur speech etc. That’s how your body feels tho. Quite enjoyable without the sloppiness of actually being drunk. I can see how it could treat depression.
The evidence that Ketamine IF properly administered with therapy can dislodge depression for many is unequivocal. That being said people taking it for fun are playing with fire, it is addictive.

Musk has always been honest that EV's are a niche market and not tenable for world wide distribution. There isnt enough materials or power to accomplish a global EV marketplace.

I've struggled with depression for decades. I've never been impressed with SSRI's. I've still lost jobs due to my depression, even while taking SSRI's. I got tired of taking them because I couldn't really feel a difference when I took them. The most annoying thing is people who have never had depression, assume that depression has been defeated since medications exist. This is far from reality. If depression was defeated, then why are drug companies still researching depression and coming out with new depression medications? Maybe when Artificial Super Intelligence is created, that entity can help humanity find a cure, once and for all, for depression.
I don't know the Don Lemon backlash, but he has over 900,000 views for that interview. I think that's a success, and that's only on TH-cam.

I watched the whole interview, and there were a lot of missed opportunities from a dei perspective. It was a great thing to see, though, because the debate should be had in the town square. Don lemon just did not understand what he was advocating for.
