Easily my favorite youtuber. I love the attention to detail and how much detail you show in your videos. Hope you are feeling well and stay strong. Looking forward to seeing how this turns out. I think this bike would look amazing with the updated plastics
Check connections for orientation and correct position, check killswitch, check grounds, make sure plug cap is firmly on wire. Looking pryme, awesome build!
I honestly laughed when you said it didn't have spark. I've had nothing but wiring nightmares on my supermoto and that seems to be the problem with it now. I don't mind soldering and running wires but when it comes to tackling the nest of wires behind my headlight, I just don't even want to bother. Best of luck Cameron. Glad to see you're still positive, as usual. Keep up the amazing work.
I could be wrong but im pretty sure the wiring goes up the left side of the frame because the kill switch plugs into the main wire and goes right up to the bar on the clutch side. Builds looking sweet man so stoked to see this thing run. Stay up dude 👊👊
Well i am going to go with the Pulser as your electrical problem. I just had a no spark issue on my CR500 and that is what it was, so maybe yours too. Glad to see you back.
Cam is so nice and kind guy. I live so far away from the USA, I wish I had friends like Cameron. I wish you good health!!! And hope one day you will take this beast to ride for as long as you want.
Welcome back! PLEASE use full safety equipment and absolutely no contact with any chemicals. Your hands are back to their regular color. Keep up that excellent work. Cheers!
Ordered a shirt, bud. Hang in there. I said in a video some time ago, my daughter had Leukemia as well. Long road, but she is healthy now and doing good. God speed
I have a few ideas for your electrical issues. I doubt it’s the kill switch as I’m pretty sure that a normally open circuit so first check the grounds then pull the spark plug boot off and make sure you have a good connection to the plug. Then pull out the manual and check resistance and voltage on the coil. If that’s not it check the stator and pick up coil. If that’s all where it’s supposed to be cdi is probably the culprit it’s almost never the wiring harnesses good luck with this and the hospital visit
I don’t think it’s the kill switch because it’s not on the bike yet, and most two strokes don’t need a kill switch to run you can always take a piece of wire and short the two leads for the kill switch together at the harness to close the circuit and test for spark but I’m 90% sure it’s not going to be that simple
hope you feel better soon, building bike can be good therapy. During 4 years of dialysis, and 2 transplants I built a 83 sportster, and my current 15 ktm250sx
very nice work cameron. I am happy to see you back working youtube had a real down fall when your not posting lol hope you feel better and thank you for showing the younger guys that you can rebuild and fix stuff not gust go buy new and trash everything good luck and god bless
@6:40 my mind blew!! I was wondering what the electronics to my CR85 do.. I know the CDI but was just wondering about that ignition condenser. Most informative thing ever!
9:40 - Cameron, are you sure thats not missing a bracket for the stator wire? pretty sure my old 2stroke 250 had one that mounted of 2 bolts from the HC valve cover.
Maybe a bad ground wire somewhere? I know when a build throws you for a loop its no fun. But Hondas are strong just like you!!! Get better soon dude, you will figure it out.
Start from the top of the chain, hook a voltmeter to the generator and see that you have current generated. Then you need check the sensor on the crank is giving signal to the computer. The coil you can use ohm meter to check is not burned. And yes, check your killswitch!
Test stator coils for correct resistance values. If all coils check out, and all wiring connections are good, replace Cdi. You inspired me to restore my old yz490k. After the restore the bike would only run backwards. (It has never run for me before) after tons off sleepless nights and replacing everything except the rotor. I bought a good used rotor, and bam she’s prime. First timer Ive ever had to replace a rotor! Thanks Cam! You are Prime
Inspect the plug boot to ensure the plug is in full contact with wiring cap ( sometimes they get separated when taking the boot off the plug). Good luck with your medical treatment and I hope to see wrenching away again on the CR.
Good to see you back, Cam. I would bust out the multimeter and test the spark plug, then the stator ohms. If you're able, also test the voltage of the stator. You will need a peak voltage adapter for your multimeter to test this. I was chasing this problem on a stator - ohms read perfect, but had bad voltage. This caused a no or low spark situation. Last, if it all else checks out, it's probably your CDI. There's no way to test those without replacement of a good one.
This is the first video I've seen of yours. Everything about your story, your situation, and without a doubt this build,... Is absolutely amazing. I don't know what else to say. Keeping it on topic though that is one badass build you got going on there. Salut.
Sorry I missed you when this was live. I was at work... Got yelled at 3 times for watching!! Was worth it. I love your videos! I reference them slot whenever I'm tinkering on my 2002 CR 250R!! Or any dirtbike!! Thank you for all the great info & killer edits!! Cant wait for the next video!! STAY PRYME!!!!

I expected that you would succeed. I wanna hear the new exhaust for the first time. That might be awesome. (I will build up my own bike someday. Your are almost there!
Hi mate u watched ur vid on history of RC and CR 2 strokes.. I grew up with them.. I really enjoyed all ur research as u know it takes alot of time well done.. I remember racing club days against CR 500 2 strokes I was riding RZ 350 my mate on KR 250..the rules then were if u were single cylinder u could run slicks we had road tyres on.. We were all 2 stroke nuts then hence 500 GP.. The CR and YZ 490 500 singles use to go give us a hard time around corners and brakes as they were so light compared to our bikes.. Of course we had more go in a straight line.. They use to lower them down stiffen the suspension put slicks on and road race them.. This was all through the 90s in Australia grt memories and few broken bones.. I ended up on an RZ 500 and my mate on a RG 500 wild days.. I'm sure ur CR 250 will go like a cut snake all the best Marty from Oz..
Just stumbled over your channel recently and looked through your channel and saw your videos where you have been in hospital. Hope you will get better soon and the cancer goes away. Sorry for my bad english. Greetings from austria:)
To possibly help with problems...I don’t know if this is the case butttt I think the flywheel need to be spinning pretty fast to be able to generate enough “electricity” to power the coil. maybe, try having someone hold your plug against the block while you give it a good firm kick. Almost got it cam! super excited to see you finish it man looks awesome!!!!!! (Best builds I’ve ever seen) super clean! You’ve inspired me to do the same. I’ve became more patient with my builds and really started checking over everything! swing arm bushings and bearings, triple tree bearings and bushings suspension joints.. everything! (thank you bro) Otherwise, I would start off by checking your kill switch... If there’s any possible way I could meet you and get a tour of your shop to help me with my shop set up and builds and tools I would be more than willing to wait till your available and pay and donate to you bro I need help too hope I could help
I'm not a mechanic or a dirtbike lover. I know nothing about bike. But I enjoy your video a lot. The patience and passion is very very impressing. Stay strong, man! God bless you. Oh, by the way I don't see the battery here.
Good to see you back. I'm definitely no Cameron Niemela but after watching your videos for so long and doing kind of what you do for a living I decided to start making a few youtube vids as well. I just rebuilt an 08 Crf450r if you have time to check it out.
Great job. One pointer though, dielectric grease isn't supposed to be used between the mating surfaces of connections even though if there's enough mechanical pressure you can get away with using it that way. It is not conductive. It's designed to be applied on the outside of the connection to seal it from corrosion. This could be why you have no spark. Also, spin the engine faster to check spark.
Stay strong cam I love all your videos and have learned a ton about dirt bikes your one of my biggest inspirations and i have watched your videos for a good while
You need to try and close the loop on the killswitch wires. When u push the killswitch it opens the connection and kills the spark. So install your killswitch or touch the wires together. Good luck bro
I really enjoy the content you create! And it helps me to understand how components work, the installing videos you upload, makes it a lot easier for me to install parts correctly on my own bike! Stay strong Cameron!
Did you hook the Killswitch up? And if not that wire isn’t touching the frame is it because it would ground it out. Also I just ordered up some stickers and the shirt from your site looks like some nice stuff. Keep fighting man.
Love the videos man! I bought an 01 cr250 an my bro showed me your channel an of course I tore it down to the frame an started buffing! Thanks for the tips an tricks looking forward to the live stream!
Kill switch needs to be connected to get spark. You can see the two wires dangling half way up the frame. Second pull or unscrew the plug cap and cut a couple mm’s off the plug wire to get a fresh connection and also throw some dielectric grease there. Those would be my first two points. If those are fine you need to get a quality meter refer to your owners manual then check for your hot and ground points first at all connections. The manual is great to find faults in an electrical system. It tells exactly where to start on which color wire.
Trick question. Bad spark plug grounding. Hold the plug against the frame and try again. Your shot of the plug shows it gently resting on your coated(non-conductive) head and head nut.
What do you think is the problem?
still kill switch
the unplugged killswitch???
Yeah the killswitch might be it
Kill switch!
Killswitch should a normally open connection. I don't think that's it. Check your ground and put a multimeter on. Check your voltages and conductivity

LiveFreeandShred I agree. He’s my fav TH-camr too. I’ve learned so much from watching him
Glad to see another video Cam.
After not seeing any for some time I was getting a little concerned re your health.
Hope the treatment is going well.
.
I think if you slap on a fullsned sticker, the issue will be fixed.
Done done and done
Yup the issue is clear as day lol
Camarom
Cant wait for you to kick cancers ass! Then I can see great content more often
Check connections for orientation and correct position, check killswitch, check grounds, make sure plug cap is firmly on wire. Looking pryme, awesome build!
You’re my favorite youtuber! Looking forward to a new cr250 build video. Stay strong!
YZ250****
KD Customs what?
@@claybadger491 I was saying instead of him building another CR he should build a YZ250.

magneto gap. wiring connector, ohm wires for continuance are the easiest fixes. good to see you back!

@Donald Honeycutt i had an 04 and mine was defiently on the left side. It even has a little hanger on the left side of the steerer tube to hold it.
Place a screwdriver in the spark plug connector holding the metal part and give very strong kick start and you will know if it has a spark or not.
Then there will be no more Cameron cuz he would've literally flew to the moon!!
im going to try this later today on my rm 250 what has no spark! thanks for the tip but if this dosent work any other ideas?
ive just done it but i think i may have done it wrong because i got a horrible electric shock!! ill tery again later im still hurting off that

Dont let the cancer beat you, doing things that make you happy has been proven to aid in ones recovery.

Ive watched every video from this bike build. I can't wait to see this bike get finished. It's gonna be a beautiful bike.
When doing a full restore like this, you should use a FSM, it will show you everything, even cable and wire routing and exact bolt sizes
I would suggest checking the stator and then if it's good check if the coil is being sent power to generate spark.
I can only admire your work and I wish you much strength against cancer♥
Inspect the plug boot to ensure the plug is in full contact with wiring cap ( sometimes they get separated when taking the boot off the plug). Good luck with your medical treatment and I hope to see wrenching away again on the CR.
