billy’s father deserted the family when he was very young. Apparently they spent some time in Scotland and then they came back to ireland at that point. I do not condone the murders of innocent people and will not deny the actual evidence of a crime, but I am very skeptical of most media sources, especially the BBC considering they are probably the most anti British media company in Britain and some of the evidence they have in this documentary is solely hearsay and speculation 🤣Billy wasn’t opposed to peace, as he had stated on many occasions, he was openly against the proposed peace deal because of it allowing the involvement of the Irish Republics government. He was a major thorn in the British government’s side due to his resilience to the republican movement and the British government from brokering a peace deal, which will still to this day ultimately end in a united Ireland. Everyone is very quick to treat ‘loyalist’ as a dirty word, talk about how loyalists murdered this person and that person and that they were ‘prolific serial killers’. While that may be true in some cases, I will not deny historical facts because to be ignorant to it is to be foolish and unwise, but I will never understand how ‘prolific serial killers’ on the republicans stages will never be as condemned or lambasted by the media in the same way? Personally I think peace will never be achieved for as long as the republican movement keep re-writing history. It’s quite sad to have to say that. The loyalist people have been prepared for peace for much longer than our republican counterparts, but peace will also be a two way street in this country, not one sided as it has been.
